You're Inspiring, Southern Serenade, Birthday Card

I have not played with the "Southern Serenade" set in a while so I thought I would get it out and have a little fun.  This card was very fun and easy to make.  I love the lace image that comes in the set.

The base of my card is a half-sheet of Whisper White card stock. On top of that is a 4-1/8" x 5-3/8" piece of Smoky Slate. On top of the Smoky Slate is a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Melon Mambo. And that brings us to the top layer of Whisper White cut at 3-7/8" x 5-1/8".

I used the lacy image and Smoky Slate ink, but I did stamp off once before I stamped on the card stock. It took three times to get across the card.

Before I put the layers together, I did die cut the scalloped oval from the center of the Melon Mambo piece. I actually remembered to do that this time!!

I stamped the image on a piece of Whisper White card stock and die cut it with the second largest oval in the pack.  I colored the petals using the Melon Mambo marker and I used the Pear Pizzazz marker for the leaves. I taped the oval onto the scalloped oval and I added Dimensionals to the back.  Before I set it in place I was going to cut a piece of Melon Mambo card stock for the strip but I didn't have any scrap, so I took some dotted Melon Mambo retired ribbon and I turned it over and taped it in place.  I have so much retired ribbon.

I stamped the words from the "You're Inspiring" set using black Memento ink.  I taped the layers together and then added the oval. For the final touch I added some tiny pearls to the center of the flowers and that was it.

I thought it was a fun, quick and super easy card to make! I think it would also make a wonderful get well card or a Mother's Day card.

Thank you SO much for visiting today,
Wanda
