Dandelion Wishes, Beautiful Bouquet, Birthday Card

As summer is drawing to a close, I am finding myself using stamp sets that are summery.  The winter Stampin' Up! catalog will be available to order from soon and then it will be fall and winter stuff.  So, today I thought I would play with the "Dandelion Wishes" set.  I made a super easy card with it too!

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock. The layer on top is a 4-1/8" x 5-3/8" piece of Night of Navy.

I textured a 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" piece of Whisper White card stock using the "Layered Leaves" embossing folder. I taped a 2" x 5-1/8" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Best Route" 12" x 12" paper pack. Now if I were smart, I would have cut that DSP 2-1/8" then I could have cut the embossed piece in half and would have been able to make two cards.  But I didn't, so I taped the DSP to the bottom of the embossed piece. I then taped that piece to the Night of Navy piece and those layers were taped to the card base.

Next I cut a 2-7/8" x 2-7/8" piece of Whisper White card stock and stamped the dandelions on it from the "Dandelion Wishes" set. I stamped them using Night of Navy ink. I forgot to mention that I was using Night of Navy ink because it was the closest in color to the Blueberry Bushel DSP. I did not buy any of the in colors this time around.  To get the works, card stock, ink, inkers and markers it will run around $80 and it just wasn't in my budget. Plus after looking at what was left from the recently retired in colors I decided that I could manage without the new colors.  So far so good.  I cut a 3" x 3" piece of Night of Navy for the layer behind the dandelions image.  I sponged in some Night of Navy ink in the center of each dandelion. I taped the Whisper White layer to the Night of Navy layer and I set it in place on the card front using Dimensionals.

The words are from the "Beautiful Bouquet" set. I stamped them on Whisper White card stock using Night of Navy ink. Now once again had I been smart, I would have cut that scalloped oval from the 3" x 3" square.  But I didn't!!  But I did have scraps left so I didn't have to take a new sheet to cut these pieces from. I taped the ovals together and set them in place using Dimensionals on the left side of the oval (on the back) and snail tape on the right side.  And the card was done. Such a fun card!

Better Together, Wedding Card

This card was SUPER quick to make. I would have to say it was around 5 minutes from start to finish!

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock. This card opens at the bottom.

I had a scrap piece of the "Share What You Love" Specialty Designer Series Paper (SDSP).  My piece was cut 2" x 5-1/4".  I taped it in place at the top of the card front.

I stamped the words from the "Better Together" set using black Memento ink on Whisper White card stock. I die cut them using the stitched oval die. It was the second largest die in the pack. Then I die cut a scalloped oval using Rich Razzleberry card stock. I taped those two layers together.

I added Dimensionals to the back and set it in place on the card front.  And that was it. I told you it was super quick!!!  And I think it's pretty too!!

This layout is great for a quick card. Especially if you have word stamps that are large enough to carry the front of the card.

Waterfront, Itty Bitty Greetings, Sympathy Card, Stamping Technique

I found this fun technique on a card in Pinterest.  The card didn't lead to a link to where it originated from. I'm not sure what it is called but it was fun to do but needs a little more work to get it just right.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock. This card opens at the bottom.  The next layer is a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Tranquil Tide card stock.  I cut a 4-7/8" x 5-1/8" piece of Whisper White card stock and a 4-3/4" x 5" piece of Crumb Cake.

I stamped on the Crumb Cake piece.  I took the largest image, it's used as big background clouds. I used the round image for the sun, the mountains image and the trees image.  First you need to stamp all the images using Whisper White craft ink. You must work this card quickly because the craft ink will be drying.

Next I stamped the clouds piece using Balmy Blue ink stamped off once. I should have stamped the sun first because it's standing in front of the clouds. I used Crushed Curry for the sun.  Then I stamped the mountains using Crumb Cake ink and finally the trees. I used Tranquil Tide for the trees and I took an Early Espresso marker to define the trunks.  You don't want to stamp exactly where you stamped the white because it won't give you that glowing effect.  The mountains show too much of the white. It's a technique that needs a little more practice. But knowing what I did wrong helps. Now that you know what not to do, yours will be SO much better!!

I taped the Crumb Cake piece to the Whisper White piece and tied a piece of linen around it three times. I set that piece in place using Dimensionals.  The original card had some rhinestones added to it.  Oh and it also looks like some Dazzling Diamonds glitter was added. I didn't add the glitter. I wasn't sure how it was going to stick.  But I did add a few rhinestones after (before I took this photo).  It's okay on there. I like it with or without the rhinestones.

It's a super easy technique to do and fun!  I like the look.  I have no idea what the technique is called. If you find out, please let me know so I can post it here.

Waterfront, Itty Bitty Greetings, Sympathy Card

I was looking at my "Waterfront" stamp set and thinking I should pull it off the shelf and use it. I have WAY too many stamp sets that I REALLY like and it's difficult to do them all justice.  And the sad thing is that the holiday occasions catalog ordering is just around the corner! I'm going to try to be more selective. I know it will be easier on my pocketbook if I do!!

This was a very fun card. I do so love playing with this set.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock.  On top of that is a 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" piece of "Twinkle Twinkle" Designer Series Paper (DSP).

The image was stamped on a 3" x 4-1/4" piece of Whisper White card stock. The layer behind it is a 3-1/8" x 4-3/8" piece of Tranquil Tide card stock.

I stamped the mountains first using Crumb Cake ink. Then I stamped the trees using Tranquil Tide ink. I took my Early Espresso marker and darkened in the trunks. Then I stamped the grassy looking area using Pear Pizzazz. The water was stamped using Balmy Blue ink.  And that was it for the images. I taped the Tranquil Tide card stock and Whisper White card stock together and wrapped some linen thread around it three times and tied a knot.  I set it in place using Dimensionals.

I cut a 1/2" strip of Crumb Cake card stock. I cut that strip 3-5/8" long. I snipped the ends to give it a ribbon look. I taped it to the front of the card. The piece of Crumb Cake that was left over measured 1-1/8" long. I stamped the words using the "Itty Bitty Greetings" set.  I set those words in place on the card front using Dimensionals.

I thought it was a fun and quick card to make. And I do like how it turned out.

Dandelion Wishes, Happy Birthday Gorgeous, Birthday Card

Today's card was quick and fun to make.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Pacific Point card stock. On top of that is a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic Black card stock. And on top of that is a 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" piece of Whisper White card stock.

I cut a 4-1/4" x 3" piece of scrap card stock.  I set it on top of the Whisper White piece and lightly traced a line around it using a pencil.  I will erase the lines later with a kneadable eraser. If you don't have one of those, I highly recommend you go to your local craft store and get one. They can be formed to a nice point or just left as they are. I remove the eraser from my mechanical pencils and take a piece of the eraser and form it into a cone and put it in the end of the pencil.  They are a must. They do not ruin your paper, they only remove the graphite.

I took my piece and stamped the image from the "Dandelion Wishes" set. Then I stamped the words from the "Happy Birthday Gorgeous" set.  I set the 4-1/4" x 3" piece of scrap card stock back on the Whisper White piece and I traced around it using my Pacific Point marker.

Next I took a sponge dauber and sponged Pacific Point ink in the center of each dandelion.  You may want to let the card sit for a few minutes before you erase the pencil marks so the marker doesn't smear.  In the meantime you can tape all the layers together and add a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Whisper White to the inside.  Once you erase the lines you are done!!

Perennial Birthday, Birthday Card

On the card I had made yesterday, I liked how the twine was added. So with that in mind I set out to make a card with twine in a line/row!

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock. The fold is on the left, a standard/normal opening card.

On top of the card base is a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Pool Party card stock.  On top of that is a 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" piece of Basic Black card stock. And on top of that is a 3-3/4" x 5" piece of Whisper White card stock.

I cut a piece of the "Share What You Love" Specialty Designer Series Paper (SDSP) 3-1/2" x 2-3/4". And the layer behind that is a 3-5/8" x 2-7/8" of Tranquil Tide card stock. I taped those two layers together. I set them on top of the card and lightly marked the bottom edge of the SDSP layers with a pencil so I would know where to add the words.

The words are from the "Perennial Birthday" set and I stamped them using Tranquil Tide ink.  Once the words were stamped, I taped the Basic Black and Pool Party to the Whisper White piece and then I taped those layers to the card base.

I laid a line of sticky tape about 1/2" under where the SDSP will be set.  I took some black twine and made loops, sticking them to the tape as I moved across the card. I did use scotch tape to cover the loops when I was done. Then I set the SDSP piece in place using Dimensionals.

It's a simple and quick card and I got to make the twine in a loopy line again!!!  I LOVE the look of the twine sticking out.

August 2018 Paper Pumpkin Alternative Card

I was inspired by a card that Sandi MacIver had posted on Pinterest.  I had already packed up the left over pieces from my Paper Pumpkin kit. I had made the cards and I was done. I was looking at Pinterest (as usual) and I found a card that used up some of the left over pieces.  So I got my baggie out and made this card.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock. On top of that is a 3-1/2" x 4-3/4" piece of Lemon Lime Twist.  A color don't use much at all. On top of that is a 3-3/8" x 4-1/2" piece of Whisper White.

I stamped the flowers using Flirty Flamingo ink, Daffodil Delight in the centers and black for the stamen.  I fussy cut them out.

I stamped the Lemon Lime Twist star/flower looking images. I had set the word panel in place and tucked the leaf pieces in place.  I removed the word panel and taped them down.  I took what was left of the twine and looped it behind the word panel. I taped that in place. I set the word panel in place using Dimensionals.

I added the flowers with snail where they touched the word panel and Dimensionals where they touched the Whisper White piece.

It was a very easy and quick card to make. Even the fussy cutting went fast!!  And now there's just 4 vellum pieces left to the kit plus the stamps.  I don't think I've ever had that little left of any kit!!

This was a fun kit!

You're Inspiring, Southern Serenade, Birthday Card

I have not played with the "Southern Serenade" set in a while so I thought I would get it out and have a little fun.  This card was very fun and easy to make.  I love the lace image that comes in the set.

The base of my card is a half-sheet of Whisper White card stock. On top of that is a 4-1/8" x 5-3/8" piece of Smoky Slate. On top of the Smoky Slate is a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Melon Mambo. And that brings us to the top layer of Whisper White cut at 3-7/8" x 5-1/8".

I used the lacy image and Smoky Slate ink, but I did stamp off once before I stamped on the card stock. It took three times to get across the card.

Before I put the layers together, I did die cut the scalloped oval from the center of the Melon Mambo piece. I actually remembered to do that this time!!

I stamped the image on a piece of Whisper White card stock and die cut it with the second largest oval in the pack.  I colored the petals using the Melon Mambo marker and I used the Pear Pizzazz marker for the leaves. I taped the oval onto the scalloped oval and I added Dimensionals to the back.  Before I set it in place I was going to cut a piece of Melon Mambo card stock for the strip but I didn't have any scrap, so I took some dotted Melon Mambo retired ribbon and I turned it over and taped it in place.  I have so much retired ribbon.

I stamped the words from the "You're Inspiring" set using black Memento ink.  I taped the layers together and then added the oval. For the final touch I added some tiny pearls to the center of the flowers and that was it.

I thought it was a fun, quick and super easy card to make! I think it would also make a wonderful get well card or a Mother's Day card.

Beautiful Bouquet, Bouquet Bunch, Birthday Card

I'm laughing here because I thought the top square looked crooked in the photo. Well, it's not only crooked in the photo, it's also crooked on the card.  I will have to remove it and straighten it out when I'm done with this post. But you get the idea even with it crooked!!! And I'm still laughing!!! How could I not see that?
I opened up Pinterest and there this card was, just screaming for me to make it.  The original card is not crooked!! LOL There was no link attached to the card on Pinterest so I just guessed at colors.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock.  On top of that is a 4-1/8" x 5-3/8" piece of Tranquil Tide card stock. The next layer is a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Pool Party card stock.  And the focal piece is a 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" piece of Whisper White.

I die cut a big leaf and the short leaf images from the "Bouquet Bunch" dies using Pool Party card stock, I also cut out the Stitched square. There are 4 squares in the package and I used the second smallest. Then I cut one of each using the Tranquil Tide card stock. I also cut out the bow. I lined up the two middle size Stitched square dies and cut out the Tranquil Tide frame.

I added Wink of Stella to the leaf pieces and the bow.

To assemble, I taped the open Tranquil Tide square in place.  I stamped the "Happy Birthday" from the "Beautiful Bouquet" set using Tranquil Tide ink.  I added the leaves to the back of the square and I set that square in place using Dimenisonals.  Set it straight on the Tranquil Tide square!!!  Eye the right edge of the card with the right edge of the stitched square and you should be able to get it straight.  Lightly set it in place in case you have to move it.

Add the bow with a piece of Dimensional and then add a rhinestone to the bow.  And that is it!

I thought it was a fun card to make and it's different. I like to step outside of the box now and then and make something different.  I don't know what it was about this card that caught my eye. It could have been the square frame.  I liked what I saw.

Varied Vases, Birthday Card, 2018-2019 Stampin' Up! Catalog

I'm still playing with the new purples, the Highland Heather (the lighter color) and Gorgeous Grape (the darker color). I found this fun "Varied Vases" card and just had to make it. I LOVED the flowers at the bottom.  How clever!  I never would have thought of that.  You can see the original card here.  I should have moved my dropped flowers image up a bit but it's okay, I still like how it looks.

The base of this card is a folded half-sheet of Gorgeous Grape. On top of that is a piece of Whisper White card stock that was cut 3-1/2" x 4-3/4".  A 1/2" x 4-3/4" strip of Highland Heather Decorative Series Paper (DSP) was added to the left side of the Whisper White piece.

I used the Stamperatus and stamped the outline image of the vase. Then I stamped the colored part using Highland Heather and I did stamp off because the ink was a little bit too dark compared to the original card.  I used a post it note to mask off part of the vase and then I stamped the flower image. I didn't want the stem to go all the way to the bottom.  I then added the color to the flowers and to the bottom area of the vase. I used So Saffron ink. I stamped both of those images at one time. That's one of the nice things about using the Stamperatus.

I stamped the words that also come in the same set. I used black Memento ink and then I punched them out using the "Classic Label" punch. I set the words in place using Dimensionals.

I tied a piece of black Baker's twine around the card on the left and tied a bow. I set that panel in place using Dimensionals. And that was it.  A pretty quick card to make and SO pretty!!!

Healing Hugs, String Art Technique, Get Well Card, 2018-2019 Stampin' Up! Catalog

Back in June Terri taught the group this fun "String Art" technique. We learn two techniques and I wasn't planning on choosing this one for the swap. I thought it would be too messy, plus I didn't have a catalog to put the paper between. As it turned out I did have a catalog, it wasn't very thick, but it doesn't need to be.

This is a very simple technique to do. I used too much ink on my Baker's Twine so my image looks a bit thick.  There's a video you can watch here but the way it's done there needs some tweaking.

When I was taught it, we used a baggie and added 6 to 8 drops of inker on a 30" piece of Baker's twine. The twine did hang over the bag because you do need something to grab onto without getting your fingers too inky.  We used an old Stampin' Up! catalog and we were able to make two at a time. I used some removable tape on the back of my Whisper White card stock. I set it inside the catalog and I closed it. That way the two pieces are affixed to the pages.  Once the strings were saturated with the ink we took them out and laid them on the card stock in "S" shapes and a loop or circle towards the bottom.  Because I used too much ink you can see the thread lines.  When you use two pieces of paper, you get two images, just a mirror image of the other. Oh and when using the baggie, you mush the string around inside (doing this on the outside of the baggie) then the string isn't sopping wet like mine was. I had put a lot of ink in a little cup and added my 30" of twine. I wore gloves and I did have to run the twine through my finger and thumb to get the excess ink off but I didn't use enough pressure because my string was way too wet. I started towards the back of my catalog and found fresh pages at least 8 pages away from the first pulling.  In the video the gal also had her strings hidden under her paper. Here we had the end of the string hanging out the bottom of the catalog. We pressed down on the catalog and pulled the string.  SO much easier, neater and quicker than the method in the video.

I found it a bit messy and probably won't do this technique again. I do like it though.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Melon Mambo. On top of that is a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic Black card stock. And my Whisper White piece was cut 3-3/4" x 5".  I did cut the Whisper White piece after the ink dried.

The words are from the "Healing Hugs" set and I stamped them using black Memento ink.

It was a fun card to make but too messy for me. Even with gloves, I still ended up with ink on my hands.  Not just my fingers, but hands!!!  I know, imagine that.  A stamper who gets ink on their hands!!! LOL

Beautiful Bouquet, Circle of Flowers Technique, Thank You Card

I was so impressed with this card. It was the circle, how perfectly it was made. It's actually a technique, a fun and easy one!  Who would have thought? You can see that technique here. Tracy has a video so you won't have any questions about how it's made.  I would recommend doing some measuring to get the pieces exact before you cut your template. If it's off a little, it will matter.  But then again it's a handmade card so if it's off a little, it's okay.  Stamping the smaller flower by hand sort of balanced things out!

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Gorgeous Grape card stock. On top of that is a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Highland Heather that was textured using the "Layered Leaves" embossing folder.

The top layers are as follows.  The Whisper White piece measures 2-13/16" square. I used the square framelit for this. You will need to use the framelit or you won't be able to make the template. Plus you want that square to fit inside the template.  I used the next size scalloped square for the Highland Heather layer.  And the back layer was cut 3-1/4" x 3-1/4" using Gorgeous Grape card stock. This layer was cut on the paper cutter.  I taped all three of those layers together and then it was affixed to the card front using Dimensionals.

It's an easy technique and I think it will allow me to make some more fun cards in the near future.  I am keeping my template inside my Stamperatus.  Give this a try, you will see how fun it is!!

Beautiful You, Happy Birthday Gorgeous, Birthday Card

The "Beautiful You" set was one that I just HAD to have. I am not sure why.  I think I may be partial to the sketched look. A number of years back there was some sketched sets with people in them and I had to have them. So with that thought in mind, I wanted to play with the set that I just HAD to have!!  I surfed the net and found this card. I pretty much copied it except for the ribbon.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock. It was cut at 4-1/4" on the short side.  This card opens from the bottom.

I took a 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" piece of Bermuda Bay card stock and textured it with the "Ruffled" embossing folder.  I cut that piece in half at 2-1/8" on the short side. Because I did that I decided to just make two card at the same time.

I took another piece of Bermuda Bay cut 4-1/4" x 5-1/2". I also cut that one in half at 2-1/8".  I taped those two pieces to the card base.

I cut a piece of Whisper White 2-1/8". I stamped  the lady from the "Beautiful You" set using black Memento ink.  I colored the dress and umbrella in using the Bermuda Bay Blends markers. I colored the skin in using the Petal Pink light Blends marker.  After coloring it in I cut a 1" piece of Decorative Series Paper from the "Brights" 6" x 6" paper pack. I taped it to the back of the Whisper White stamped piece. Then I taped the that to the card front. Leave 1/4" of the Bermuda Bay card stock showing on the right.

I stamped the words from the "Happy Birthday Gorgeous" set using black Memento ink.  I punched them out with the "Classic Label" punch. I had some ribbon in my stash that I used under the words. Thinking about it now I could have used a piece of Bermuda Bay card stock but I had some ribbon and I thought I should start using these up! I taped the ribbon in place. Then I added the words using Dimensionals. I added a few sequins from the "Iridescent Sequins" assortment pack. I used tiny glue dots to set them in place on the card.  And that was it.

Isn't this a fun and pretty card? I just love that "Ruffled" embossing folder.

Varied Vases, Birthday Card, 2018-2019 Stampin' Up! Catalog

Here's another set I have a lot of fun playing with.  I was working on a stamping project and I had to stop because I was just not having fun with it at all.  If you're not enjoying what you are creating, move on.  This card was fun from the beginning to the very end!

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock.  On top of that is a 4" x 4-1/4" piece of Whisper White card stock that was textured using the "Pinewood Planks" embossing folder.  I had a problem getting the piece to stay straight in my folder. I ended up using a post it note to hold it while I ran it through my Big Shot.  I ran the same piece of paper though and it looks just fine. If anything it gave it even more texture.

I stamped the vase from the "Varied Vases" set using Smoky Slate ink. I punched it out with the matching punch.  Ya gotta love it when you don't have to fussy cut!!!.  Sometimes I still cut the vases, I don't like a lot of white showing on the edges or I don't get them centered in the punch.

I took a scrap piece of Whisper White card stock and stamped the outline of the flowers. Then I stamped the petals. I did use the Stamperatus to make sure the flowers were lined up exactly.  I LOVE it when I don't have to try to get the image on straight by eyeing it!  After I stamped it, I set the vase in place to see what oval die I would need. I ended up using the stitched oval die. I used Real Red card stock and die cut an oval layer. I taped those two layers together. I added Dimensionals to the back of it and set it on top of the card front but I didn't remove the backing. I want to make sure I know where to place the words.

The words are also from the same set. I stamped them using Real Red ink.  I trimmed the piece the words were on to 1/2" x 2".  I cut the layer under the words 1/2" x 3".  I snipped the ends.  Then I added Dimensionals to the word piece and centered it on the 3" strip.  I set the oval in place and then taped the words to the front of the card.

I added Dimensionals to the back of the embossed Whisper White piece and I set that in place on top of the card base. And there you have it.  It's super easy and quick too! Plus pretty!!!

Animal Expedition, Share What You Love, Sweet Baby, Baby Card

I had bought the "Animal Expedition" Decorative Series Paper (DSP) and not the set with the matching dies. It was just not in my budget. Plus I didn't want to fall into that again. Last year I bought the birthday one, the set with the dies plus the matching DSP.  It was only in the catalog for one year.  Not a good economical choice. So this time I decided to only buy the paper and fussy cut the creatures out. And so far I have no regrets.

My card was easy and fun. I always do my fussing cutting first because I HATE to do it!!! LOL  After cutting I added a die cut circle of the "Share What You Love" DSP. I LOVED that color plus it fit well with the kangaroo.  I add a Whisper White stitched circle behind the DSP.  I had some fun ribbon that actually matched the green in the DSP so I wrapped it around my spread out fingers three times and I taped the ends to the center of the back of the two taped layers.  Then I added Dimensionals and affixed it to a Basic Black scalloped circle.  I added Dimensionals to the back of that and I set it aside.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock. On top of that is a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Whisper White card stock that I textured with the large Dots embossing folder. I wrapped some of that fun ribbon around that card and taped the ends on the backside. Then I added that piece to the card base using Dimensionals.

I set the kangaroo circle in place.  The words are from the "Sweet Baby" set and I stamped them on Whisper White card stock using black Memento ink.  I die cut them with the oval die and I die cut a black scalloped oval. I taped those two pieces together and I added them to the card using Dimensionals. And that was it.  I think it's a very fun baby card!!

Dandelion Wishes, Itty Bitty Greetings, Sympathy Card, Stampin' Up 2018-2019 Catalog

Every time I see the "Dandelion Wishes" set I just think of it being on a sympathy card.  So while looking on Pinterest, I found a card and it was not a sympathy card!

This is a very simple card to make.  The base of this card is a folded half-sheet of Gorgeous Grape card stock. On top of that is a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Highland Heather.

I stamped the dandelion on a 3-7/8" x 2-7/8" piece of Whisper White. I set the piece on top of the card base and I marked a like with a pencil so I knew where to stamp the wispy seeds off to the right side.  I had stamped the dandelion and seeds using black Memento ink. The Gorgeous Grape border behind the Whisper White piece was cut 4" x 3". I was not smart when I die cut the scalloped oval, I should have cut it from this 4" x 3" piece (directly in the center) and I wouldn't have had to cut into a 1/4" sheet of the Gorgeous Grape card stock. UGH!!!

The words are from the "Itty Bitty Greetings" set. They were stamped on Whisper White card stock using black Memento ink.  I die cut the oval and then I die cut the scalloped oval.

Before taping the dandelion piece in place, I wrapped some white baker's twine around the piece and tied a bow. I taped the piece in place on top of the card.  I taped the oval layers together and added Dimensionals to it and set it in place on the card. I added a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Whisper White card stock to the inside and the card was done!

It's a very simple and quick card to make. I'm really liking these new purples!

Petal Palette, Dandelion Wishes, Get Well Card, 2018-2019 Stampin' Up! Catalog

I found a card on Pinterest and I really liked the layout. I didn't have the images used in the original card but that didn't matter, I really was more interested in the layout. So what I did was I took the second largest stitched circle die and went over to my stamp sets and looked to see what would fit in the center and this is what I came up with.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock. This card opens on the right side.

I used a 1" strip of the Melon Mambo from the "Brights"Designer Series Paper 6" x 6" pack.  I cut it to 5-1/2" long. I taped it in place about 1/2" from the left edge.

I stamped the flowers from the "Petal Palate" set and I colored them in using the Melon Mambo marker and a blender pen. I colored the leaves using the Pear Pizzazz marker.  I die cut them out with the stitched circle die.

The words are from the "Dandelion Wishes" set. I stamped them using black Memento ink. I die cut them with the same size stitched die.  I taped the words in the center and about 5/8" from the right edge of the card front.  I added Dimensionals to the back of the flower stamped circles and set them in place.  I made sure they covered the word circle a little bit.

I added some fun sequins using tiny glue dots. You can also just use regular glue and a toothpick to add the glue so you don't make a huge mess!  And that was it.  I think it's a very pretty and cheery card.

Petal Palette, Love What You Do, Thank You Card, 2018-2019 Stampin' Up! Catalog

I still have to admit that the "Petal Palette" bundle. I LOVE these roses, plus I don't have to fussy cut them!!

This is a very quick and simple card to make.  Really, trust me!

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock.  On top of that is a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Whisper White and on top of that there is another piece of Whisper White cut 3-7/8" x 5-1/8".

Next I took a scrap piece of Whisper White and stamped the "thank you" from the "Love What You Do" set using black Memento ink.  I punched it out using the "Everyday Labels" punch.  I cut another piece of Whisper White 2-5/8" x 1-5/8".  I set the punched piece on top of the small piece using Dimensionals.  I then set this on top of the card front. I didn't tape it in place. I needed to know where to stamp the solid tiny leaf branch from the Love What You Do" set. It's actually the solid part that you would stamp in color to fill in the outlined stamped image (we are not using that image).  I stamped that image twice using Pear Pizzazz ink. You can't see the second image.  But that's okay, if you move the image differently than I do, it may show up.

Next I stamped the flower image from the "Petal Palette" set and I also die cut the leafy branch image at the same time. The flowers were stamped on Whisper White card stock and the leafy branch image was die cut using Pear Pizzazz card stock.  I did trim off a few of the larger branch pieces so I could place them under the flower image when I was done.

Now you can tape the words in place. I used a few small Dimensionals on the flower piece, but only on that upper left flower.  It stuck enough to hold the piece in place. You can also add a little snail to the inner flowers where they touch the "thank you" piece.  I didn't. I found the Dimensionals were enough to hold the image in place.  I added some tape to the leafy branch pieces and set them in place behind the flowers.

Tape the two top large layers together and set them on the card base using Dimensionals and that is it. It's pretty simple to make and very elegant. I love the look of the "thank you" off to the right while the left holds all the color.

Better Together, Share What You Love, Love What You Do, Birthday Card

I found this fun card on Pinterest. And as usual I did make a few minor changes.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Mint Macaron. The fold is on the left and this card opens on the right.

I cut a piece of the "Share What You Love" Specialty Designer Series Paper (SDSP) 4" x 5-1/4".  I cut a 3/4" x 5-1/2" strip of Mint Macaron card stock. I cut a 2-11/16" circle of Mint Macaron and a Basic Black scalloped circle to compliment it. I stamped 3 leaves from the "Love What You Do" set. I fussy cut a three flower cluster with leaves and a single flower.  I cut a 4" x 1-1/2" piece of Whisper White card stock and punched the one end. I stamped the words from the "Better Together" set using black Memento ink.  And you will need a 1-3/4" x 4-1/2" piece of vellum, some tiny pearls and a few Dimensionals!!!  Grab your baker's twine and we're off to assemble!!

Tape the SDSP to the card base.  Add the strip to the left. Add the vellum piece.  Tape the circle layers together and set them in place on the card front using Dimensionals.  Add the word piece using Dimensionals.  Next I tied on the baker's twine and tied a bow.  I glued on the fussy cut flowers on the left side and on the right I set the little single flower using a dimensional.  I added tiny pearls to all the little flowers and that was it.  Other than the fussy cutting it was super quick. Though it didn't take that long to cut out, it's just I'm not a big fan of fussy cutting!!

I love the colors of this card and that SDSP is SO pretty. And this one you can actually see the "S". It's for specialty but I like to refer to it as shimmer.   The shimmer is on the larger flowers and in real life it's very pretty.

Touches of Texture, Healing Hugs, Get Well Card, 2018-2019 Stampin' Up! Catalog

I found this fun card on Pinterest.  I have used the "Touches of Texture" set many times and in all of the times I've used it have never used the little messed up alphabet image.  If you look next the flower in the upper right corner you an see some letters there.  It's like someone took the alphabet macaroni and pushed it into a pile.  A big old fun mess!!

This is a very easy card to make.  I tried to go to the site where the card came from but it turned out to be a dead end, so I had no info to go on.  I had to wing it!

The base of my card is a folded half sheet of Whisper White card stock. I cut the card stock at the 4-1/4" mark on the short side.  The fold is at the top and this card opens from the bottom.

I used Merry Merlot for the outline image of the flowers. I stamped directly from the pad to the paper.  Then I used Berry Burst for the flowers. I did stamp off once before stamping on the outline image. For the center of the flower I used this tiny flower stamp in the set (another image I had not used) and I inked it up with Merry Merlot and stamped the center of each of the flowers.

Next I took the large dotted image, inked it up with Crumb Cake and stamped off once. I stamped between the three flowers on the top right side and across the bottom edge, three times.

I took the messed up alphabet image and used Crumb Cake ink. I stamped off once and then stamped  under the bee on the left (around the 5 o'clock area). On the next flower it's stamped around the 7 o'clock area. There's one between the two flowers that are touching each other and the last one is next to the flower at the 10 o'clock area.

Then I stamped the small flower using Crumb Cake ink, stamping off once. There's three flowers on the card. The original card showed rhinestones in the center of each flower.  Of course I forgot to put them in. I will add them when I'm done posting this.  I seem to always forget something!!!

The final Crumb Cake image is the bee.  There's two on the card and I stamped directly from the ink pad to the paper.

The words are from the "Healing Hugs" set. I stamped them using black Memento ink.  And that was it. I think it's a very pretty get well card and a very easy one to make.  Plus you get to use a lot of images in the set!!  Some you may have never used before!!

Touches of Texture, You're Inspiring, Birthday Card

This was a fun card to make and a little bit challenging.  I found it on Pinterest.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock that was cut on the 8-1/2" side. This card opens at the bottom.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic Black card stock and taped it to the card base.

Next I cut a 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" piece of Whisper White card stock. I scored this piece to form that rectangle around the focal piece.  I set my card stock on my scoring board with the shorter side on the top. I lightly marked it with a pencil at 1/2" down and 1-1/2" over to the right. I scored from there down to the 4-5/8" mark. You may want to lightly mark that too. You won't need to erase the marks, it will be the backside of the card.  Mark the right score line at 3-3/8" and score down to the 4-5/8" mark.  Turn your card stock and score the small ends of the rectangles. You should be able to see the marks. It's roughly 1/2" in from the end of the card stock.  Turn it over and stamp the words. Mine are from the "You're Inspiring" set. I wanted to make this into a birthday card.

I taped the white scored layer to the Basic Black piece.

Cut the focal piece for the flower from Whisper White card stock at 1-1/2" x 3-3/4".  I stamped the detailed image of the flower using black Memento ink. Next I stamped the center part of the flower. I used my Melon Mambo marker to color the petals and Daffodil Delight for the center.  I huffed on it and then stamped it over the outline image. And then I stamped the stem using black Memento ink. I colored in the leaves with the Pear Pizzazz marker.  I taped this piece to a Basic Black layer that was cut 1-5/8" x 3-7/8".  I added Dimensionals to the back and set it in place inside the scored rectangle. And that was it.  I had made a second one, just the scored piece because I had put my tape on the wrong side. UGH  But I followed my directions and it was easier than the first time where I was guessing and trying to measure at the same time.  I like this scored rectangle and I think I will be using it on a card sometime in the near future.  Now that I have the measurements!!!

Petal Palette, Better Together, Birthday Card

I have not played with the "Petal Palette" set in a while. Probably a little while it doesn't matter, I still like this set VERY much! I saw a card on Pinterest that used this set, I didn't save where I found it. But I liked how the oval was done and the leaves behind the flowers.  Other than that the card is totally different.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock. I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Whisper White card stock.  I added a 4" x 2-1/4" piece of Pear Pizzazz Designer Series Paper (DSP).  I taped it to the bottom of the layer.

Next I stamped the flower image and die cut the largest stitched oval along with the flower.  I colored the flower in using Blends pens.  I stamped the leaves from the "Petal Palette" set using Pear Pizzazz ink.

I tied some Baker's twine around the Pear Pizzazz DSP and tied a bow.  Then I set the oval piece where I was thinking it should go (I didn't tape it down yet).  I lined it up so I knew where to stamp the words.  The words are from the "Better Together" set.  I thought the font flowed well with the flowers.  Once I was done with the words I set the oval in place with Dimensionals.

Then I set the flowers in place with Dimensionals.  And then I set the whole panel in place with Dimensionals. Oh, when you are setting the flowers in place, be sure not to add Dimensionals to the bottom leaves. They will end up sticking to the DSP and give the look of being bent.  You could make them double thickness and then they would lay flat. I just left them off.

I thought this was a fun and easy card to make.  And I think it's VERY pretty too!

Dandelion Wishes, Better Together, Sympathy Card, 2018-2019 Stampin' Up! Catalog

I still had the "Dandelion Wishes" set sitting out and I ran across this fun card on Pinterest. I said it's fun because I got to sponge on colors. I LOVE sponging.

The base of this card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock.  On top of that is a 2-3/8" x 5-1/2" piece of Basic Black.  The focal piece is cut 2-1/8" x 5-1/2".

I sponged on Daffodil Delight ink and covered the entire piece. Then I added a 3/4" circle using repositionable tape. I sponged over the upper half using Crushed Curry ink. I then sponged the bottom half using Pumpkin Pie ink.  I covered the whole thing with Daffodil Delight ink first because I didn't want the next two colors to saturate the card stock as much. If I had not added the Daffodil Delight ink first, the Pumpkin Pie would have been SO much darker.  I wanted to keep it light.

The words are from the "Better Together" set. The original card was a thinking of you card. I don't know what set was used for those words, I did like the font but I didn't have it, so I thought I would use the "With Sympathy" words from the "Better Together" set. I think it looks nice. I think this image makes a great sympathy card.  It's a very easy card to make. I taped the two layers together and taped them to the card front.  And that was it!!!  Easy peasy!

Thinking of You Card, July 2018 Paper Pumpkin Alternative Card

This morning I thought I would play with my July 2018 Paper Pumpkin kit (finally!!!).  It has small gift cards, which I don't have any use for and it also has some paper baskets to make, which I also have no use for.  SO that means it was time to get creative.  And this is what I came up with.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock.  On top of that is a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of the blue checkered tissue paper that is meant for the inside of the baskets.  You use one or two full sheets for the basket so that means you can make two backgrounds.  Which really means you can make twice as many cards!! Oh boy!!!  LOL Sometimes I find that in using pieces of the kits to make alternative cards, I end up with more parts that I thought and more cards than I had anticipated!!  Sometimes it's a good thing and other times I'm just trying to get through the kit.  This card was fun and I plan to make more like this to use up the pieces in my kit.

Okay, back to the card. I taped the blue checkered tissue on with snail.  Then I took one of the baskets and cut two sides 1-3/4" x 1-3/4" square.  About 1/16" from the top of the tissue paper, I found center and taped the square in place with the tip on the top.  I taped the second one to the tip to the first square (you can't see this, it's under the focal piece.  These basket pieces are textured and gives those squares a nice and fun look.

I followed the instructions to make the stamped dashes on the square note card piece.  Though I did cut that note card in half.  I taped the white checkered tissue paper to the center of that square.  Then I took the apple die cut and taped it to the center of that tissue square. I did color the stem before I set the apple in place. I used the Blends marker to do that.  I just thought it would look better brown than it would red.  I took one of the white rectangles and stamped the lines on it.  I cut that in half on the short end so I had two long pieces.  Next I stamped the words using the rounded edge die piece and taped those two lined pieces to the back.

I tied a piece of the white Baker's twine around the focal piece and then added the apple using Dimensionals.

It's a quick card to make and it was fun to come up with something that I could use more easily than the tiny cards and baskets.

Lovely Floral Embossing Folder, Share What You Love, Love What You Do, Get Well Card, 2018-2019 Stampin' Up! Catalog

There's some fun elements going on here. I LOVE the new flower embossing folder. It's called "Lovely Floral".  I embossed it on a 3" x 4-7/8" piece of Rich Razzleberry.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock.  The card stock was cut in half on the 8-1/2" side and scored at 5-1/2". This card opens at the bottom.

The "Share What You Love" Specialty Designer Series Paper (SDSP) was cut 4-7/8" x 1-3/8".  I ran some snail tape along the left edge of the SDSP piece. I set the Rich Razzleberry piece on my work table grid paper and lined it up so I could add the SDSP so the piece measures 3-5/8" x 4-7/8".  I taped that to a piece of Old Olive that was cut 4" x 5-1/4".

I stamped the flowers from the "Love What You Do" stamp set using black Memento ink. I colored them in using the Rich Razzleberry Blends markers.  I die cut it with the oval dies and then I die cut an Old Olive scalloped oval for the layer and I taped those layers together.

The words are from the "Dandelion Wishes". I stamped them using black Memento ink. I die cut them with the round dies and I also die cut a scalloped circle. I taped those layers together. I taped the oval layer in place and I added the circle layer using Dimensionals.  This was a very fun and easy card to make. Plus it's pretty too!!

Petal Palette, Itty Bitty Greetings, Birthday Card, 2018-2019 Stampin' Up! Catalog

When Rich Razzleberry came out I just LOVED that color and then this year they came out with Rich Razzleberry velvet ribbon.  I LOVE that even more. You can't go wrong with velvet ribbon!!! I just LOVE the feel of it.

I found this card (sort of) on Pinterest. I say sort of because I changed a few things.

The base of this card is a folded half-sheet of Rich Razzleberry card stock.  On top of that is a 3-3/4" wide by 3-1/2" long piece of the "Share What You Love" Specialty Designer Series Paper (SDSP).  It's specialty because of the shimmer on the images.  Though the top piece has the shimmer on the other side.  But the bottom piece has the shimmer on the flowers and leaves.  I cut that piece 3-3/4" wide by 2" long.  I taped the two pieces together so the piece equaled 3-3/4" wide by 5" long.  I used the Rich Razzleberry ribbon to hide the seam.

I took a half of one of the new shimmery doilies and taped it to the edge of the ribbon.

I stamped the flower from the "Petal Palette" using black Memento ink.  I stamped the words from the "Itty Bitty"Greetings" set. I should have played with the image and words a bit more because there is room to add the words without them touching the stem of the flowers.

I colored the flowers using Rich Razzleberry Blends markers and the leaves using Old Olive Blends.  I die cut the circle using the "Stitched Circles" die.  I set the circle in place using Dimensionals.  And that was it. It's a very quick and easy card to make.  The original card used the "Share What You Love" set, which I have but I liked this flower better and I thought it went with the SDSP better.  Either way the card will be pretty!

Dandelion Wishes, Get Well Card, 2018-2019 Stampin' Up! Catalog

The new "Dandelion Wishes" set is so much fun to play with. You can add as much or as little color you want. Today I made a monochromatic card. It was super easy, quick and fun!

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Pacific Point card stock. I cut the textured layer 4" x 5-1/4".  I used the "Seaside" embossing folder for that piece.  I taped that piece to the card base.

I cut a 2-7/8" x 2-7/8" piece of Whisper White card stock and stamped the dandelion images. These are all on one stamp. That makes it quick and easy.  I used Pacific Point ink for my stamping. And the Pacific Point layer was cut 3-1/8" x 3-1/8". Before I taped those two layers together I die cut the scalloped circle from the center. No one will ever know there's a hole in that layer.

I stamped the words, which were in the same set and I die cut them with the circle die.  I taped the scalloped to the circle. I set that in place using Dimensionals.  And for the final touch I added the "Clear Faceted Gems" to the center of each dandelion. The upper two have the largest gem and the lower one has the middle size gem.  And that was it. All done and so quick.  I like the Pacific Point but I am not thinking it would be even cheerier sing Highland Heather or Gorgeous Grape.  Maybe another day!

Itty Bitty Greetings, Petal Palette, Get Well Card, 2018-2019 Stampin' Up! Catalog

WOW, if you want quick, clean and simple, this is the card for you!!! Can you believe that this card was so quick and simple to make that I actually thought of fussy cutting more flowers to pop these up??   Yes, me fussy cutting!!! LOL

This really is a very quick and simple card to make. If you are in a rush for a card, this is the one to make.  Plus it's not just for sending prayers, it could be a birthday card, a thinking of you card, a congratulations card, a wedding card, anniversary card or a Mother's Day card.  It's extremely versatile.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock. On top of that is a 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" piece of Highland Heather.  On top of that is the focal piece, it's Whisper White and cut 3-3/4" x 5".  And that's it for your cutting.

The flower is from the "Petal Palette" set. A set I LOVE to play with but have not for a little while because there's new stuff to play with. It kind of reminds me of Toy Story and all the other toys are concerned that they might not get played with when new toys come into Andy's bedroom.  LOL  I try to be fair and play with them all, but not necessarily equally!!!

I colored the flower in using Highland Heather Blends pens. I also colored the leaves in using the Mint Macaron Blends pens.  Color the lightest color first and then add some highlights with the darker color.  So quick and easy to color with these and it make it look like you are REALLY good at coloring!!!

The words are from the "Itty Bitty Greetings" set. I stamped them using black Memento.  Then I taped the layers together and that was it.  Super quick and easy!!

Beautiful Bouquet, Garden Trellis, Wedding Card, Stampin' Up! 2018-2019 Catalog

Several years back (I don't know how many), I had made a card using this layout and I've never forgotten it. I thought I would give it a try again sometime when there was some fun flower paper to play with.  Well, the time has come. The paper is the "Share What You Love" Specialty Series Designer Paper (SDSP).  This time I used the side with the shimmer on the flowers but of course it doesn't show up on the card here.  UGH!!  But trust me, it's there and it shimmers and it's very pretty.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Mint Macaron. On top of that is a 4"x 5-1/4" piece of Basic Black and on top of that is a piece of Whisper White cut 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" and textured with the "Garden Trellis" embossing folder. I taped those layers together and set it aside while I worked on the squares.

The Basic Black squares were cut 1-3/4" x 1-3/4".  You will need three of them.  I cut a 1-1/2" x 1-1/2" piece of Whisper White and I cut two 1-1/2" x 1-1/2" pieces of the SDSP.  I taped those layers together.

The words are from the "Beautiful Bouquet" set. I have the clear stamps. I don't know if they come any other way, but that is what I used.  I set the stamp over my square to try to get the words as straight as possible. Then I took my clear block and lined up the bottom and the left edge (because I'm right handed) and I pressed the stamp to the block. Then I inked up the words and lined the side and bottom again and stamped the words.  As simple as that!!!

Next I located the center of the top of the embossed piece and set one of the flowered pieces there. I set the other one below it. Under the word piece, those two flower pieces touch tip to tip. There is about an 1/8" space between the top tip and the edge of the embossed piece. I used snail to set those two pieces in place.

Then I added Dimensionals from tip to tip. You don't want any on the sides because of the thickness of the SDSP and the card stock. I also tucked small Dimensionals in on the top sides to give it a bit more stability. I probably should have added them when I was placing the first ones but I didn't know it would be that unstable. If I would have put more thought into it, I would have set my pieces in place backwards so I could see and mark where the Dimensionals should go.  But it's obviously not one of my "Brilliant Ideas" day!!! LOL

I added a few of the new Mint Macaron "Faceted Dots" to the word square and the card was done.  I thought it went together rather quickly. And I also thought it was a fun card to make. I LOVE playing with those squares!!
