Today's card looked SO much prettier in my head than it does on paper. Maybe I need to try it in a different color or maybe I need to just walk away from the whole idea!!! LOL
I used the "Varied Vases" set and the matching punch. I stamped the vase using Smoky Slate ink. I think the Gray Granite would look better but I forgot to order that color! DUH! I tried stamping off but Smoky Slate was just too light so I went full strength.
I stamped the flowers and colored them in with the Real Red marker. I added a pearl to the center of each flower. The tiniest pearl for the turned flower and the next size for the higher flower.
I set the vase on the card front to see where I needed to stamp the ledge piece from the "Varied Vases" set. I used Post it notes on either side because I didn't want the whole long border. I stamped that using Smoky Slate ink. I colored it in with the Balmy Blue marker.
The words are from the "Itty Bitty Greetings" set. I stamped those using black Memento ink.
I set the vase in place with Dimensionals and I added some pearls to fancy it up a bit. It needed all the help it could get. I added some Wink of Stella to the flowers too, but it doesn't show up on the photo.
It was a fun card to make and if I were to try to attempt this again there's a few things I would try. I think the vase might look better in vellum. I would stamp the entire stems so it shows through the vase and I would color part of the vase with Balmy Blue so it would look like water in the vase.
So to make my card I used a folded half-sheet of Smoky Slate card stock. It was cut in half on the 8-1/2" side. This card opens from the bottom. On top of that is a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Balmy Blue. And the focal piece is 3-7/8" x 5-1/8". It's a quick and easy card to make and I think it would be pretty with the right combo of colors!!
Thank you SO much for tolerating my kerfuffle!!!
