Whole Lot of Lovely, Happy Birthday Thinlits, Birthday Card

Have you ever had some little pieces of your favorite Decorative Series Paper (DSP) left and you don't know what to do with it?  Is it too small to keep?  Is it too big to toss?  As for me, I save it all!!! And that is why my workroom is so full!!

As I was trying to decide what to make today, I was looking at the package of the "Whole Lot of Lovely" DSP and there it was, this small 2" x 4" piece of DSP.  My favorite one in the package.  So I decided I would use it on a card today.

I got out the "Happy Birthday" Thinlits that is soon to retire and I die cut it using Basic Black card stock.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Calypso Coral. On top of that is a piece of Old Olive that I textured using the "Falling Snow" embossing folder.  I taped my 2" x 4" piece of DSP to the top of the Old Olive piece.  And then I stuck the "Happy Birthday" in place.

I wasn't satisfied with how it looked so I added some tiny pearls to the DSP where the "sprig" looking items were.  I liked that part but the bottom still needed more. SO I added some pearls to the Old Olive piece.  And for the final touch, I drew over the letters with the Wink of Stella pen.  The card was finished and I didn't even laugh at it!!! LOL

This was a pretty quick and easy card to make and I was able to use my scrap DSP to do it!!!

Thank you SO much for visiting today,
Wanda

  1. I think we all have those small scrap pieces we don't want to toss but it takes a while for us to find the perfect use for them. You did that with this beautiful card. I need some pretty and easy birthday cards. Thanks for the inspiration today. Have a wonderful day!
