Petal Palette, Congratulations Card

I am in need of two cards this week.  Yup, I am making cards that I will actually use instead of stockpiling them and selling them off later!!!  I have a graduation open house to attend to so I thought a pretty card would be in order.  It's for a female friend so I think it's appropriate!

I found this card on Pinterest and just had to make it. I thought it was SO pretty.  The on on Pinterest is much nicer.  Don't compare!!! LOL  I gave it my best shot!

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White. On top of that is a 5-1/8" x 3-7/8" piece of Pear Pizzazz and on top of that is a 5" x 3-3/4" piece of Whisper White.

I stamped the flowers, two of each of the smaller ones and one of the larger one. The longer smaller one had to be fussy cut. The others I die cut. I also die cut two black branches.  I die cut the second largest stitched oval and a black scallop just a little bigger for the layer.  I stamped the words and die cut them with the fun die in the "Petal Palette" set.

I took the large leaves image and stamped them using Pear Pizzazz. I stamped them in each corner. Then I stamped the dots that came with the set. I used Old Olive for those and I only stamped just under 2" of the image.  I wasn't sure if it would cross over to the other side or cause other issues. It was just easier to stamp the part I needed.

After fussy cutting the longer small flowers I was ready to assemble. I set the black branches in place.  To eye it up I added a little tape to the large roses and set it on the layered ovals to see where to place the branches. I did cut pieces off the branches. Some I kept for a later card (maybe!).  After placing the branches,  I set the oval in place using Dimensionals.  Then I added the flowers, tucking them in behind the larger roses image.  I added Dimensionals behind the larger roses to prop them up some. You will see where you need to place them once you get the other flowers in place.  And lastly I added the words using Dimensionals.

I thought it was a fun card to make.  Would I make another one?  No.  I don't like fussy cutting.  Though I may substitute the die cut ones for the fussy cutting ones.  All in all I did have fun making it and I do like how it turned out.

Thank you SO much for visiting today,
Wanda
