Okay, I did sit down and concentrate on making the children's birthday card that I was planning on making yesterday. Actually I need two but first things first!!! LOL I was surfing the net to find a fun card that used the "Magical Day" set, plus it had to be a mermaid because the little girl getting this wants to be a mermaid when she grows up! Ahh, to be young and dream like that!
This is a very simple card. The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White. I cut another piece of Whisper White 5-1/8" x 3-7/8". I embossed it with the waves embossing folder.
Next I die cut a Melon Mambo Stitched circle and a Whisper White stitched circle. I used the largest and the second largest circles in the set. Before I die cut the white one, I did stamp the words. I used Soft Suede ink to do that.
I stamped and die cut the mermaid and the seahorse. I colored the mermaid using the Melon Mambo marker and a blender pen. I'm SO looking forward to buying the Blends in Melon Mambo next month!!! I LOVE Blends!!!I did color her hair and her skin with the blends. I also colored the seahorse using Pool Party Blends. Just before I taped the circles together I stamped the bubbles and colored them with the Blends too.
I taped the waves to the card base. Then I added the circles. I set the mermaid and the seahorse in place using Dimensionals and pieces of Dimensional. That seahorse is pretty tiny!
And for a final touch, I used the Wink of Stella on the mermaids hair, tail and belly scales. I covered the entire seahorse with Wink of Stella and the bubbles as well.
And that was it! A pretty quick card that is going to make one mermaid wishing little girl very happy to see!
Thank you SO much for visiting today,
Wanda
