Santa's Suit, Background Bits. Christmas Thank You Card

Today was hubby's birthday, so we did a few fun birthday things and now that it's evening, I escaped to my workroom to work on some Christmas "Thank You" cards.  I'm always thrilled when I find nice "thank you" words that I can use on my after Christmas cards.  And of course a hat to go with them.  I'm not sure if the "Santa's Suit bundle made it to the 2018-2019 catalog.  I read some of the items that were going to be carried over to that catalog but the only thing I remember is the "Painted Harvest" set. So much for a good memory.  But after 3 surgeries this year, it is slowly coming back. I celebrate those little moments when I actually did remember something without struggling and becoming frustrated.  Yay me!!! LOL  Anyway, I like to make my Christmas thank you cards with a Santa hat on the thank you if I can and this year I was able to again!  Here is the one I made last year using the now retired giant "Thank You" and the now retired Santa hat punch.

I stamped the hat and then die cut it using the matching "Santa Builder" framelets. It's a bundle I didn't use much this year.  I'm hoping it does carry over.

The words are from the "Background Bits" set.  I stamped them in black and then added the hat when I was done.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White.  On top of that is a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Real Red card stock.  The top layer is 5-1/8" x 3-7/8".  I taped the top layer to the Real Red piece and set them in place using Dimensionals.  The had was also set in place using Dimensionals.  I had added some Dazzling Diamonds glitter to the pom pom and brim of the hat before I set it in place.  Well, it was long before I set it in place. I colored the hat with a Real Red marker and then added the glitter and set it aside to dry while I worked on the rest of the card.  I've learned to so that a lot more this year, making sure I take care of the things that need to dry first so when I'm ready to use them they are dry or dry enough!!!  I surprise myself now and then!!! LOL

This was a very simple thank you card to make.

Thank you SO much for stopping by today,
Wanda
