Painted Harvest, Hershey Bar Holder, Weekend Project

It's been a while since I've done a "Weekend Project".  I was going to make something fun for Halloween, but with it only a couple of days away I thought I would look towards November stamping instead.  SO while I was trying to decide on what kind of card I wanted to make, I thought it would be fun to do a project.  Yup, a fairly quick project.  SO I decided on a candy bar holder for fall.  

These are easy to make and if you cut the card stock a certain way, you won't have to measure for the belly band unless you want a wider one.  When I cut my card stock 7-1/4" x 7-1/2", I cut my card stock on the long (11") side.  Then when I turned it to cut the 7-1/2", I had a 1" strip to use for the belly band.  I did not measure the score lines on the belly band.  I just wrapped it around the finished holder and then used those marks to make my fold lines.  It's an easier way to "mark" the fold lines.  Why not save yourself some time?  It still looks great because you do make the fold lines nice and sharp.  I also like to keep the seam of my belly band in the front.  Whatever you are putting on the front will hide it.  That allows the back of the band to look and feel smooth. It just gives it a more professional look.  Plus you don't have to worry about the back seam getting caught on anything and pulling open.  Oh, and I always glue my belly bands.  I do NOT trust tape. 

For my holder I used Cajun Craze card stock.  I used the Painted Autumn" Decorative Series Paper (DSP).  I used the "Painted Harvest" stamp set for the words.  I stamped them using Soft Suede ink.  The leaves are from the same set and I stamped them using Pear Pizzazz ink.  I did find it easier to stamp the leaf vein image first and then the solid leaf image second.  I don't know if it is easier, I thought it was for me.  I thought it felt less stressful to get it right!!
