I don't make many friendship cards and I probably should make more. I need to start sending out more to let my friends know I do care about them, even though I know they know that. It's always nice to hear it now and then!
This was a fun card to make. I did have trouble trying to match up a color to go with the Tranquil Tide color. I ended up using Bermuda Bay. It does look SO much better in person! Oh and I found this card on Pinterest. You can see the original here and what colors they used.

The base of my card is a folded half sheet of Tranquil Tide. I cut a 4' x 5-1/4" piece of Bermuda Bay and taped it on top of the card base.
Next I took a 3-3/8" x 5" piece of Whisper White and I stamped the "Sheet Music" background using Tranquil Tide ink. I was going to cut the piece so I could get two cards out of it but the other end of the music didn't have the treble cleft stuff. Then I took a piece of the Tranquil Tide Decorative Series Paper (DSP) and cut it to 7-7/8" x 5". Before I taped it in place on the sheet music, I punched out the ribbon border. Then I taped my DSP down. But the smarter thing to do would be to tape the ribbon strip to the back of the DSP and then tape it all down. I had to lift the edge of my DSP up so I could slip my glued ribbon strip under it. What a mess that was. It would have been SO much easier to run a strip of snail along the back of the DSP and set the ribbon strip in place. But no, I didn't think before I taped, so I had to glue the strip in and it was a mess! Lesson learned!!! LOL Now don't let me catch you doing that!!! LOL
The words are from the "Flourishing Phrases" set. I stamped them using Tranquil Tide ink. I die cut them with the oval die and I die cut a scrap piece of Bermuda Bay card stock. One nice thing about using two different size dies, you can cut them both at the same time. I taped those layers together and added Dimensionals to the back. I cut a piece of the Burlap Ribbon and taped it to the front of the card. I then set the words in place using Dimensionals. And the card was done! I thought it was a fun card to make and I can't wait to see what the Christmas papers will look like to see if I can make a Christmas card using this layout and the "Sheet Music" stamp.
Thank you SO much for stopping by today,

Love your color combo and design. We have grandchildren into music, one plays trombone in a jazz group and one signs and acts at his school. Great card for them! Thank you, Wanda.
