This card was fun to make. A different technique too! It's called "Camera Lens" or "Telescope" technique. Though I would tend to lean more towards the "Camera Lens" wording because a telescope gets smaller as it goes outward. Anyway, it was fun to do.
I found 3 circles that worked well together. Mine measured 1-1/2", 2-1/8" and 2-5/8". I did make a template for each so I could get them centered better. And once I got them all punched out, I set them in place and took them to the cutter to make the whole stack measure 4" x 5-1/4".
I textured the top one with the new "Garden Trellis" embossing folder. I also added Wink of Stella around each circle.
The focal part of the card is a flower from the "Whole Lot of Lovely" Designer Series Paper (DSP). I set that in place using Dimensionals. The DSP wasn't very big, it doesn't need to be. Next I added Dimensionals to the center circle and set that in place. I also did that with the large circle. Once they were stacked on top of each other with Dimensionals, I noticed that some of the edges weren't even. I just took it to the cutter and trimmed it up. I set that stack in place on a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock.
The words are from the "Rose Wonder" set. I stamped them using Basic Black ink. I used a stitched oval die to cut them out. I used a scalloped oval for the layer and taped the words on top. I set it on the front of the card and it got lost, so I had to cut a Whisper White oval and I was happy with how that turned out. I set that in place using Dimensionals.
For the embellishments around the circles, I used the "Flourish" Thinlits to make them. I die cut them using Whisper White card stock and I set them in place with small glue dots. I just sort of tucked them in place and pressed down where the glue dots were placed. One on each end tip and one on a spot that would be touching the front of the card. And that was it. It's a cool technique and I know I did not do it justice with this card. I want to give it another try sometime.
Thank you SO much for visiting today,
Wanda
