Daisy Delight, Thank You Card, Recessed Panel Technique

I found the "Recessed Panel" technique card here.  I didn't have the same papers as in the original post, so I worked with what I had.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock.  On top of that I added a 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" piece of the beautiful "Whole Lot of Lovely" Decorative Series Paper (DSP).  I did use a piece to cover the card front.  I am not sure if you would want to cut that piece down, I suppose you could, though it may show though the side.  I want to try another one of these and I'll do it with a smaller piece of DSP and see what I see on the sides!

For the front pieces I took a 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" piece of Pool Party and Whisper White card stock and cut them both at the same time.  For the top piece, I marked it on the left at 3/4" and on the right side I marked it at 3".  For the bottom part, I marked it at 1-1/8".  I cut the two colors at the same time.  The 1-1/8" side was cut all the way to the bottom right corner tip.  Next I took the Whisper White pieces and I cut 1/8" off the inside edge.  I taped the two pieces together.  I stamped the words using the "Daisy Delight" set and Memento black ink.  I set those two panels in place using Dimensionals.

Next I fussy cut out some flowers and leaves and set them in place on the front.  The bottom flower was set in place using Dimensionals on the leaves only.  I set that one in place first and then added every thing else around it.  And for the final touch I added some green "Glitter Enamel Dots".  And that was it.  VERY simple to do and a fun technique. I LOVE the looks of this!

Thank you SO much for stopping by today,
Wanda
