Beautiful Bouquet, Delightful Daisy, Birthday Card

I keep forgetting that Stampin' Up! brought in a couple of border punches.  I have missed them and I also forgot I bought one. So, when I was wondering what I was going to do on my card, whether it be ribbon that I don't have or a strip of card stock, I remembered I bought the "Decorative Ribbon" border punch.  So I took a scrap piece of Wisteria Wonder card stock and made this piece for my card.

This card is so unbelievable simple and quick.  It would be a great Stamp a Stack card.  The only thing stamped would be the words!

The base of my card is folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock. I cut it on the short side at 4-1/4".  This card opens from the bottom, the fold is on the top.

After I had punched out my ribbon border, I taped it to the back of a 2-1/2" x 4-1/4" piece of "Delightful Daisy" Decorative Series Paper (DSP). I taped the DSP to the bottom of the card.

I punched out 3 flowers and taped them together in the centers.  I used my bone folder and gave the flowers a little curl.  I punched out a 1/2" circle using a scrap piece of Daffodil Delight card stock. I taped it to the center of the flower and I added a "Gold Faceted Gem" to the center.  I set the flower in place using a Dimensional.

The words are from the "Beautiful Bouquet" set. I stamped them using Basic Black ink.  And that was it. Super easy and super quick!!

Timeless Textures, Touches of Texture, Beautiful Bouquet, Daisy Delight Punch

I found a wonderful card on Pinterest.  I liked the color and the layout.  I did like the tulips on it but I had just made a card with tulips and thought I should try something else.  This is what I came up with. You can see the original card here. 

I exposed more of the doily than the original card.  The wording is different and the flower.  I did use different background images and I added a bit more of the Powder Pink to the card.

The second photo shows the background before I added the doily and layers.  I had used the lacy image from the "Touches of Texture" set. I also used the splatter image on this card.  The "coffee rings" image was used from the "Timeless Textures" set as well as the lacy "fleur de lis" lacy looking image.  I stamped those two using Powder Pink and I did stamp off once for the  "fleur de lis" looking image.  This was all done on a 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" piece of Very Vanilla card stock. The edges were sponged using Crumb Cake ink.

I punched three flowers out and sponged the petals with Crumb Cake ink.  I taped the flowers together and set them in place using Dimensionals. I set them in place on a 1-7/8" x 3-3-7/8" piece of Very Vanilla card stock.  A layer of 2" x 3-7/8" piece of Crumb Cake card stock was used for the layer. The edges were sponged on the Very Vanilla panel.  The center of the flower was stamped using Powder Pink and punched out with a 3/4" circle punch.  

The words are from the "Beautiful Bouquet" set using Crumb Cake ink. 

I had fun making this card.  I was SO into it and enjoyed every aspect of it. I am happy with the way it turned out.

Tranquil Tulips, Beautiful Bouquet, Thank You Card, July 2017 Paper Pumpkin

I had a lot of the Washi tape left from the July 2017 Paper Pumpkin kit, so I thought I would use it on the background of my card.  Hmmm, not liking what I did with it, but I did it and I'm owning up to it!!! LOL

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Soft Sky card stock. On top of that is a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Powder Pink and on top of that is a 3-3/8" x 5" piece of Whisper White.

I added three strips of the Washi tape and set it aside while I worked on the flower.

I stamped the flower using Soft Sky ink. I used Crumb Cake ink to add the center "things" to the inside of the flower.  The stem and leaf were inked using Pear Pizzazz.  I used the oval dies to cut the flower and the scalloped layer.  That scalloped layer is Soft Sky.  I set it in place using Dimensionals.

The words are from the "Beautiful Bouquet" set.  I die cut them with the circle die. The scallop layer behind it was cut from the 4" x 5-1/4" of Powder Pink that is the layer on top of the base of the card. I die cut it from somewhere near center so it wouldn't be noticed when the Whisper White layer was set in place.  I used a Dimensional on the left side of the words and snail tape on the right side.  And that was it.  Not so impressive but it was worth a try!!!  It as a quick card to make.  P.S.  I won't be making another one of these!!! LOL

Dragonfly Dreams, Beautiful Bouquet, Thank You Card, Torn Cardboard Technique

Years ago I saw card that used torn corrugated cardboard on the background. I think that technique may be coming back. I saw this card on Pinterest.  You can see the original card here.

This is a pretty simple technique.  All you do is figure out the size of the cardboard you need and cut it.  Then rip off the top layer.  You will need your stylus to do this.  You can rip off as much or as little as you want.  When I was working with this piece, I had the top layer removed and then I took a little more off here and there to expose the bumpy lines.  And then I went a step further and removed some of those bumpy lines. Again, you can remove as much or as little as you wish.

Once I was done removing the cardboard and I liked what I saw, I proceeded with the rest of the card.

The base of this card is a folded half-sheet of Soft Suede.  It opens from the right and the fold is on the left, a regular fold, nothing special.

The next layer is a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Crumb Cake cardstock.  Then another piece of Soft Suede was added, it measured 3-3/8" x 5".  My cardboard piece was cut 3-1/2" x 4-3/4".  I just taped all the layers together.

I stamped the dragonfly from the "Dragonfly Dreams" set and I fussy cut it out. I started at the bottom right side and then did the bottom left side. From there I headed up to the wings.  I thought it would be much easier to cut the bottom first while I had something to hang on to. I was glad I cut it out that way.  Had I done the wings and head first, it would have been so much more difficult to cut the body. I colored in the wings using Pacific Point ink and a blender pen. I also used Wisteria Wonder and a blender pen and added it in a few places.  I set it aside to dry.  I find that blender pen fluid doesn't dry right away, not quick enough to be handling it like you need to for this card.

For the grass I took a 5-1/2" long scrap of Garden Green.  I used Garden Green because it was what I had on hand for scrap.  I'm sure any of the greens would work. Well, except the Lucky Limeade, it's a little bit too yellow/limy!!!  I took the scrap to my cutter and cut small slivers off the scrap piece.  A couple of them were too wide so I just took my scissors and split them.  I gently pulled the strips between my thumb and forefinger to get the paper to curl a little.  I glued the pieces in place.  Tape is too hard to work with.  

The words are from the "Beautiful Bouquet" set. I stamped them using Basic Black ink and Very Vanilla cardstock. I did use Whisper White, but it was too bright.  I used the stitched thinlits to cut it out and I used a scrap piece of Crumb Cake and the scalloped circle for the round layer.  I taped those two pieces together.

I used Dimensionals to set the dragonfly and the words in place.  And that was how I made this card. I do like it and I think I'm going to make another.  I have a garage full of cardboard.  It seems to make it's way to the garage to be broken down but it doesn't get broken down.  So it sits there until there is a bunch of it to be recycled.  UGH!!!  I can't complain though, I have messes here that I don't tend to, so hubby can get by stacking his cardboard boxes until he's ready to recycle!  I bet that when I go out there to get a piece to make another card, he will have broken them down and recycled them!!!  Just my luck, huh?  LOL  Anyway, this was a very fun card to make, even with the fussy cutting. Oh and it's a great masculine card!

Big on Birthdays, Whole Lot of Lovely, Birthday Card

The jury is still out on this one.  I'm not sure I'm liking the bottom and top together of the "Whole Lot of Lovely" Decorative Series Paper (DSP).  They are the opposites of each other on the paper.  Maybe it's because of the orientation of the pieces. Perhaps if I would have used the flowery one as the background and the strips as a layer????

To make this card, I used a folded half-sheet of Whisper White cardstock.  I cut it at 4-1/4" on the 8-1/2" side.  I cut a piece of Tranquil Tide, cut 4" x 5-1/4".  I cut the DSP 3-3/4" x 5".  I cut that piece in half.  I taped those pieces in place on top of the Tranquil Tide cardstock.   I added a Crushed Curry "Mini Chevron" ribbon.  

If I had been smart I would have die cut that scalloped square before I added the DSP on top of it.  So I had to take a new piece of Tranquil Tide cardstock.  

I stamped the words from the "Big on Birthdays" using Tranquil Tide ink and Whisper White cardstock.  I set that in place using Dimensionals.  

And that was it.  Super quick but I'm trying to like the combination of the two designs.

Better Together, Birthday Card, Stampin' Up! Catalog 2017-2018

I SO love this "Whole Lot of Lovely" Designer Series Paper (DSP). especially this sheet/design!!! I would like a whole pack of just this design!!!

I don't know if this is a card technique or just a layout but I had seen it used on some cards and it's been in the back of my mind for a while now.  I love how it splits up the card.  I don't know if I made it correctly or not but this is my version of it.

The base of my card is a folded piece of Soft Sky card stock.  I gut it at 4-1/4" on the short side. 

Next I took a piece of Soft Suede and cut it 4-1/8" x 5-3/8".  I cut a piece of the DSP to 4" x 5-1/4".  I took a scrap piece of copier paper and cut it to 1-1/4" wide. I didn't measure the length, I just needed it long enough to cross over the card.  I marked where I was going to cut it and then taped the two layers lightly in the center of that space.  I cut the layers apart and put the center pieces in recycling.  Next I took the DSP and trimmed the newly cut edge 1/8" on both pieces.  I taped those two pieces in place on the front of the card base.

I stamped the words from the "Better Together" set using Basic Black ink.  I die cut them out using the oval die and I used Tangerine Tango card stock and the scalloped die for the layer.  I taped those two pieces together and I set them in place with Dimensionals.  And that was it. It's the background paper that really carries this card.  Fun and pretty too!

Rose Wonder, Whole Lot of Lovely, Birthday Card

Another Pinterest gem.  This one caught my eye because of the "Whole Lot of Lovely" Designer Series Paper (DSP). You can see the original card here.  I did change the wording and the ribbon. 

Here's how I made this card.  I used a folded half-sheet of Pool Party card stock.  I added a 3-3/8" x 4-5/8" piece of Island Indigo card stock.  On top of that is a 3-1/4" x 4-1/2" piece of Whisper White card stock.  Next is a 2-7/8" x 3-1/8" piece of Crushed Curry card stock.  And on top of that is a piece of 2-3/4" x 3" of the DSP.  

I taped the DSP layer and the Crushed Curry later together. I set it on top of the Whisper White to eye where the words would go.  The words are from the "Rose Wonder" set. I stamped them using Island Indigo ink.  I taped the Crushed Curry layers in place and then taped a crushed Curry "Mini Chevron" ribbon around the card and added a knot to the front.  I taped those layers to the Island Indigo piece and then I taped that piece to the card base.  I probably should have put that piece in place using Dimensionals but I didn't notice that until it was all taped.  But that's okay, I do like how it turned out.

Happy Birthday Gorgeous, Happy Birthday Thinlits, Birthday Card, Stampin' Up! 2017-2018 Catalog

I almost forgot to post tonight.  I thought I had already set this up to post but when I looked, there was nothing.  I didn't even have a card ready to post.  So I went into my Pinterest saved images and found this fun card.  I LOVE the looks of this.  It's super simple to make too. You can see the original card here.  

The base of this card is a folded 11" 4-1/4" piece of card stock.  This card is folded at the top and opens from the bottom.  

I die cut the "Happy Birthday" from the "Happy Birthday" thinlits die using Sweet Sugarplum card stock.  I used the double sided sticky sheets to the back of the card stock so I could just remove the backing and stick it directly to the card stock.  That piece of card stock it's stuck to is a 4-1/4" x 3-1/8" piece of Whisper White.  Behind that is a piece of 4-1/4" x 3-3/8" piece of Sweet Sugarplum card stock.  I taped those layers together.

Next I set those layers on top of the front of the card but I did not tape them in place yet.  I wanted to see where the flowers needed to go.  I stamped the little flowers from the "Happy Birthday,Gorgeous" set. I used Sweet Sugarplum ink for the solid part of the flower and Berry Burst for the outline.  The outline of the leaves were stamped using Wild Wasabi ink.  I ended up coloring them in with the Wild Wasabi marker.  The original card showed them with just the outline but once I got mine stamped, I thought it should be colored.  

After my coloring I taped that front focal panel layer in place.  Then I added some green "Glitter Enamel Dots" to the card.  I added some pearls to the center of each flower and I also added some "Wink of Stella" to the card.  I went over the Happy Birthday words and the center lines of each leaf and the center lines of the flowers.  I think if you click on the photo you can see the shimmer of the "Wink of Stella."  

It was a very fun and easy card to make.

Daisy Delight, Hardwood, Background Bits, Birthday Card

While surfing the net (because I have nothing better to do with my time!!! LOL) I found this fun "Daisy Delight" card made by Wendy at Wendy's Little Inklings.  You can see her card here.  

This is a very simple and quick card to make.  The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Crumb Cake.  I didn't ready what Wendy used but this is how I made the card.

On top of the base is a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Whisper White card stock with the "Hardwood" image stamped using Crumb Cake ink.  I prefer to cut my card stock to fit after I've stamped it. I do this for two reasons.  One, so I can trim away any edges that may not have stamped nicely and two, just in case I ruin it I hadn't wasted anytime trimming it.  LOL

The stems were then stamped using Garden Green ink.  The flowers were punched out using Daffodil Delight card stock. I punched out four pieces.  Tape two together to form a fuller flower.  For the center of the flowers I used the Clear Faceted Gems.  I colored them in using a brown Sharpie marker.  I set the flowers in place using Dimensionals.

The words are from the "Background Bits" set.  They were stamped on a 7/8" x 4" piece of card stock. I did punch the ribbon end first before I stamped the words.  I think that strip could have been a little bit thinner but it works just like it is.  Before I set that strip in place, I added a trimmed piece of the burlap ribbon. I taped it to the back of that strip and then I taped the two pieces in place.  I trimmed the left edge after I taped the piece down.  I taped the Whisper White layer to the Crumb Cake card base and it was done!!  I told you it was simple and quick!

Birthday Memories, Beautiful Bouquet, Birthday Card, 2017-2018 Stampin' Up! Catalog

I love these cards that add so much from just a piece of scrap Decorative Series Paper (DSP).  This was a fun card to make, though I did have to fussy cut the cake.  The girl was from an image on the "Birthday Memories" DSP and I was able to die cut her out. 

So lets begin to assemble this card.  Firs I had a folded half-sheet of Whisper White cardstock for the base of my card. Then I took my scrap of DSP that measured  1-3/4" x 5".  You can use about any piece you have as long as it measures 5" long.  And you can shorten that and adjust the placement to fit. I like to use up scrap pieces this way.  The layer behind it is a 2" x 5-1/4" piece of Pacific Point cardstock.  I taped those two layers together and taped them in place on the card, lining up the top, bottom and left side.  

Next I die cut the scalloped circle using Pacific Point and I die cut the stitched circle using Whisper White cardstock.  I added Deminsionals to the back of it.

I die cut the girl and taped her to the circle.  Then I fussy cut the cake and set it in place. I didn't tape it right away because I wanted to make sure that is where I wanted it to be.

I didn't find a greeting in the set that fit the space on the upper right corner so I got out the "Beautiful Bouquet" set and used the "Happy Birthday" from there.  I stamped it using Pacific Point ink.

Once I was done with all of that, I set the circle in place and then taped the cake in place.  I tied a bow on the circle.  I didn't have any Pacific Point Baker's Twine so I used a piece of DMC floss instead.

Teeny Tiny Wishes, July 2017 Paper Pumpkin Additional Card

Today I'm going to share with you an "additional" card I made using the July 2017 Paper Pumpkin kit.  I am saying "additional" card because I did not make an alternative card with this kit. I liked the projects in the kit, though note cards are not one of my favorites but for those all I did was added the note card to a folded half-sheet of card stock.  I'll share those finished cards with you in a few day. 

For this card I used a folded half-sheet of Berry Burst card stock.  On top of that I added a 3-1/2" x 4-1/2" piece of Whisper White card stock.  The top two layers need to be created together to get the perfect layered effect.  I took a piece of Daffodil Delight cut 3-1/8" x 4-1/8" and a piece of Decorative Series Paper (DSP) from the Delightful Daisy pack. I just can't seem to put that pack of paper down!!!  The DSP is cut 3" x 4".  Place a small amount of double-sided tape to the area where you think the hole will be punched. You don't need to measure, you can just eye the spot. I took the 1-1/2" circle punch and dropped the piece all the way in. I eyed the edges to make sure they were as close to being equal as possible.  Then I punched the hole. I separated the two pieces and took the DSP and the 1-5/8" die and lined it up equally all around and die cut the circle out.  I taped the two layers together.

Here is where you want to tie a ribbon around.  If you forget and add it to the top of the card, it will be very difficult to get that ribbon around the panel.  You can always just place a piece of ribbon and add a separate bow, so all is not lost if you forget.

I took a piece of scrap Whisper White card stock and stamped my images.  You want smaller images, they need to fit in the opening.  I used the sun and the tulip from the "2017 July Paper Pumpkin Kit". I stamped the sun using Daffodil Delight, the tulips using Berry Burst and the leaves using Pear Pizzazz.  Once you are done with your image piece, set it in place over the opening using Dimensionals.

The words are from the "Teeny Tiny Wishes" set.  There are some in the Paper Pumpkin kit but I wanted to make a Thinking of You card.  They were just taped in place.  

The focal panel is attached using Dimensionals on the open ares on the back and tape on the flat raised area (the image piece).  And that's it.  Very fun and easy to make.  It's a great way to highlight those smaller images.

This Little Piggy, Work of Art, Friendship Card, 2017-2018 Stampin' Up! Catalog

Oh my gosh, this card was so simple and quick that it almost felt like cheating!!!  And no, it's not an original card by me!  I copied it from one posted on Pinterest.  You can see that card by clicking here.

I think the Powder Pink area at the bottom right of the card was probably done using a clear block and a marker and then maybe spritzing it with water.  I didn't think about that option until I was done making the card.  I went with the "Work of Art" image. I stamped off once before stamping on the card stock.  I stamped that image 4 times. Next I stamped the pig and then the lips.  My ink pad is extremely wet and some of the lips look solid.  I didn't want to stamp off because I wanted that bolder color for the kisses.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Powder Pink card stock. On top of that is a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic Black card stock.  The Whisper White piece was cut 3-3/8" x 5".  And that's it!  SO easy and simple!!!

Pretty Kitty, Friendship Card, Stampin' Up! 2017-2018 Catalog

This was a fun card to make. I found the card here but there was not a lot of detail about it, so I had to guess and make due with what I have.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Soft Sky cardstock. 

On top of that I used a small piece of "Delightful Daisy" Designer Series Paper (DSP).   I cut it 1-1/2" x 4-1/2".  I did have to trim the top before I taped it in place on the card front.

I stamped the kitty image on Whisper White card stock and used a circle scalloped die to cut it out. I colored in the image with a blender pen and ink pads.  I set that circle in place using Dimensionals.

I stamped the words in the bottom right corner and that was it.  Super easy and very fun to do.  I guess I was in the mood to color!

Moon Baby, Work of Art, This Little Piggy, Baby Card

This card was fun to do but it did require a lot more fussy cutting than I care to do anymore!!  I'm SO spoiled by the die cuts that when I have to fussy cut something my shoulders drop along with my head.  Kind of like a kid when you tell them it's time to put away all the toys!! LOL  There have been times I actually stopped to think about how badly I wanted to make the card because of the fussy cutting!!!  Most of the time I just suck it up and make the card, after all I'm only making one. I did find this card on Pinterest.  You can see it here.  I did change the clouds because I didn't have the ones used on the original card and I changed the words to my needs.

For this card I used a folded half sheet of Whisper White card stock.  The card was cut on the short side of the card stock so it opens from the bottom and the fold is at the top.  There are no layers to this card so maybe that is why I was able to deal with the fussy cutting more.

I used an image from the "Work of Art" set for the sky background.  I stamped off once using Soft Sky ink.

I stamped the baby from the "Moon Baby" set and colored it in using markers and a blender pen.  I fussy cut it out and set it in place using Dimensionals.  

I stamped 3 clouds from the "This Little Piggy" set and colored the bottoms with a blender pen and Soft Sky ink.  I fussy cut them out and set them in place using Dimensionals.  

The words are from the "Mon Baby" set and I stamped them using Basic Black ink.  And that was it. My card does contain one more cloud than the original card.  I just thought that upper corner needed something more.

Daisy Delight, Flourishing Phrases, Touch of Texture, Friendship Card

Today while surfing Pinterest, I found a fun card/layout. You can see the original card here. I liked the layout the most and a few elements caught my attention.  I did like the flowers but I thought they were too "airy" with the rest of the things being so "airy". So I thought if I could find a solid flower I would try to make it work and this is what I came up with.

I used the "Daisy Delight" set for the flower.  The leafy items and the lacy strips are from the "Flourishing Phrases" set. The words are also from the "Flourishing Phrases" set, I stamped the "Hello" with Versa Mark and embossed it in white on a 4" x 3/8" piece of Basic Black card stock.

The lacy pieces were die cut from the "Flourishing Phrases" set using Basic Black ink.  The leaves are die cut from Pear Pizzazz card stock and the buds are from Garden Green card stock.

The flowers are from the "Daisy Delight" set. I used Rich Razzleberry card stock and ink.  I stamped punched three of them.  The centers are a scrap piece of So Saffron and the matching ink was used too.  

Oh, I almost forgot, on the background is some splatter dots from the "Touches of Texture" set.  

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White. On top of that is a piece of 4-3/4" x 3-1/2 Whisper White card stock. After the stamping and pieces are set in place, that piece was added using Dimensionals.  

This was a fun card to assemble.  You just move the pieces around until you like how they look.  The top flower was set in place using a Dimensional and Wink of Stella was used on the flower centers and tips. I also added some to the "buds".

This Little Piggy, Friendship Card, Stampin' Up! 2017-2018 Catalog

This is one set I just HAD to buy.  I LOVE the little piggies in it.  The set is called "This Little Piggy".  It's SO darn cute!!

And when I found this card on the net, I just had to copy it. You can see Pat's original card here.  I didn't change a thing. 

The base of this card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock.  On top of that is a piece of the "Wood Textures" Designer Series Paper (DSP).  

The "Daisy Delight" DSP was cut 2-7/8" x 4-1/8" and the Crumb Cake card stock was cut 3" x 4-1/4".  I taped the DSP to the card stock.  This was set in place on the DSP using just snail tape.

I stamped the happy piggy from the "This Little Piggy" set and die cut it with the oval stitched die. I colored it using the Powder Pink and Night of Navy ink pads and a blender pin. It was then set in place using Dimensionals.  But before it was set in place, the ribbon was added.   And that was it!  Super simple and just SO darn cute!

Sheltering Tree, Delightful Daisy, Thinking of You Card

I found this fun card on Pinterest (where else lately???  LOL) and I just had to copy it.  I loved the softness of this card. It's feminine in every way!  I found the card here.  The words are in German and they translate to "How beautiful, that you are here". That's a sweet saying.  The link to the card doesn't go anywhere beyond viewing the card, unless you are a demonstrator and can sign in to their website.  

To make this card I used a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock.  The layers are 3-1/2" x 3-1/2" of Wisteria Wonder.  On top of that is a 3-3/8" x 3-3/8" piece of Whisper White and on top of that is a piece of 3-1/4" x 3-1/4" of Delightful Daisy Decorative Series Paper (DSP).

There is a 3-3/4" x 3/8" strip of Wisteria Wonder with a piece of white Baker's Twine tied around it.  That strip was taped on with just about 1/4" of the DSP showing.

The flower was punched twice and taped together in the center.  It was set in place with a Dimensional.  The flower center is a "Clear Faceted Gem" that was colored with a yellow Sharpie marker.

The words are from the "Sheltering Tree" set and were stamped using Wisteria Wonder ink.

This was a super quick and easy card to make.  I love how elegant it looks.

Pretty Kitty, Birthday Card, Torn Opening Technique

Today I'm going to share with you a fun and simple technique.  I call it the "Torn Opening" technique.

All you do is punch or die cut a hole in your card.  Here I used the 3//4" circle punch.  Then you stamp your image on a piece of card stock that is big enough to fit behind the opening.  You won't know exactly how big to make the opening until you have stamped the image and set it behind the opening.  I tore a few lines in the circle. I was going to clip them but I realized it would take away from that torn look.  I tore 8 little lines and then just kept pulling those lines around the circle until it was larger enough to see the image. I did tear a few of those "line" areas in half or not quite in half so there were more than 8 tears before I was done.  You will see as you are tearing that there needs to be more give.

After that was done I taped that 3-3/8" x 5" piece of decorative paper in place on top of a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of So Saffron card stock.  The base of the card is a piece folded half-sheet of Crumb Cake.  

I die cut the scallop, though I forgot that I could have used the So Saffron layer to get that scalloped oval piece and not wasted any card stock.  But I didn't, I cut mine from a quarter sheet of card stock. Before taping the two top layers to the card base, I added a piece of ribbon to it and then took a smaller piece of ribbon and tied a knot.  

The words and image is from the "Pretty Kitty" set. I stamped them using Basic Black ink.  

And as I'm looking at the photo, I forgot to color in the bow around the kitties neck.  I will be doing that with So Saffron.  I colored the kitty in using markers and a blender pen.

This was a very fun card to make and a simple and quick technique.

Daisy Delight, Background Bits, Sheltering Tree, Thinking of You Card

I saw a card on Pinterest that I REALLY liked that used the "Daisy Delight" daisy.  You can see that card here.  I didn't have the same decorative paper that they used, so I made my own using the "Background Bits" set.  I have wanted to play with that line of words stamp and now I got to. I want to use it on other cards, I do love how it looks.  

The base of this card is a folded half-sheet of Very Vanilla.  I took a quarter piece of Vanilla card stock and stamped the word lines from the "Background Bits" set using Crushed Curry ink.  Then I cut it to size.  What size??  2-7/8" x 3-1/8".  The Crushed Curry layer behind it measures 3" x 3-1/4".

I stamped the flower on Very Vanilla card stock twice and punched them out.  I stamped them using Night of Navy ink and I colored in the petals using Night of Navy ink and a blender pen.

I taped the word layer together and set it in place using Dimensionals.  Next I took some gold thread and wrapped it around a disposable coffee cup bottom and taped the ends in place using a Dimensional. I set the flower in place on top of that Dimensional. I added a "Gold Faceted Gem" to the center.  

The words are from the "Sheltering Tree" set and I stamped them using Night of Navy ink.  And that was it.  Super easy and quick too!!

Birthday Delivery, Big on Birthday's, Happy Birthday Gorgeous, Daisy Delight, Four Fold Technique, Birthday Card

I have been working on this card for a few days now.  No, not because it's a difficult card and it takes that long to make it. It's because I wasn't sure where I was going with it as far as the decorating was concerned. I had some other images stamped, colored and even taped in place but after looking at what materials I had on hand and what stamps I could use, I rethought the card and this is what I came up with.

I found this fun "Four Fold Technique" here.  I did  change the scoring and measurements a bit.  I like to make my project using copier paper before I venture into cardstock.  In this case I was very glad I did. Once I got done folding the pieces I saw that my card was 5-1/2" x 4".  I really wanted 4-1/4" so I reworked the card a bit.  

The base of my card is Whisper White and here is how I cut and scored it.  You may want to click the link to the original card. It might explain the parts you need to cut away a bit better than I do. 

So to begin, I took my Whisper White piece and cut it so it measured 1" x 5-1/2". I scored that piece on the long side at 1/4", 3-1/2" and 6-3/4". Turn the piece and score at 5/8" down to the second score line. This 5/8" strip you create will need to be cut away.  Next I cut the front panel piece 2-1/2" x 4-1/4".  Take the large piece and fold the score lines, valley, mountain, valley. Look at the 4th photo to get a better idea of how the scores need to be folded.  Using a strong tape, affix the front panel piece onto the 1/4" edge. Line the piece up with the bottom and the fold line.  You will have a 5/8" piece of the 1/4" piece still visible.  You will need to cut that away as well.  There, now you are ready to decorate.  I will add the measurements for the layers I used.

For the small front piece, I cut the Crumb Cake layer 2-3/8" by 4-1/8".  You will need two of these. The next layer of either card stock or decorative paper is cut 2-1/4" x 4", again you will need two of these.

The center panel layers are cut 3" x 4-5/8".  You will need two of these.  The next layer of either card stock or decorative paper is cut 2-7/8" x 4-1/2", again you will need two of these.

For the last panel you will need a layer cut 4-1/8" x 5-3/8".  You only need one of these.  And the top layer is cut 4" x 5-1/4".  Again, you will only need one of these.

Stamp as desired. Add decorative paper. Use embellishments, threads, ribbons, etc.

On the front panel I used the "Touches of Texture" set. I stamped the flower image and colored it in with the Sweet Sugarplum and Pear Pizzazz markers.  I stamped the texture from the same set. I stamped off twice before stamping on my image.  I sponged the edges with Sweet Sugarplum. 

I used the "Birthday Delivery" for the "Birthday Greetings" on the inside of the front panel.  I stamped them using Basic Black ink. The decorative paper is from the "Petal Garden" 6" x 6" pack of Decorative Series Paper (DSP).

The next panel was stamped on Whisper White card stock. I used the "Touches of Texture" set,  Crumb Cake and Sweet Sugarplum ink. I sponged the edges with Sweet Sugarplum. I stamped the flower from the "Daisy Delight" set using Sweet Sugarplum ink. I stamped and cut 3, I liked a little bit fuller flower.  I also sponged the edges of the petals. I added some "Wink of Stella" to each petal and to the outer edge of the center.  I set it aside until I was done with the remaining two panels.

For the next panel, I just took a piece of the "Petal Garden" DSP and cut it so I got most of the flower showing.

And for the final panel, I used another piece of the "Petal Garden" DSP.  The words are from the "Big on Birthdays" set.  They were stamped using Basic Black ink.

Now for the finishing touches.  I added tiny pearls to the flower centers on the front panel.  On the 3rd panel I added the daisy piece.  Before I added it I folded up the card to see where I could set the flower so the center doesn't get behind the front panel. Once I found the right spot and taped it in place, I added a "Gold Faceted Gem" to the center.  I closed up the card and added the smallest gems to the bottom right corner of each exposed panel.  And that was it.  I thought it was a fun card once I decided what I was going to do with it.  I'm not sure if I would make many of these though, I have been struggling with what goes with what lately.  I think it's still some residual effects of the anesthetic. I heard it can last a while in your system.  UGH!!!  I think it dried up a few of my brain cells!!  LOL  Anyway, I hope you like the card and I hope the new measurements are helpful to you.

Petal Garden, Happy Birthday Gorgeous, Birthday Card, Accordion Fold Technique

Today I going to share with you a card I had received in a technique swap.  This technique is called the "Accordion Fold" and it's super easy to do. This card was made by the ever so talented Mary! 

The base of this card is Sweet Sugarplum cardstock and the Decorative Series Paper (DSP) is from the "Petal Garden" pack.  For this fold you can decorate as many sides of the card as you wish. If I were making it to send out I would be decorating 5 sides. People mostly decorate 3 sides. It's up to you how much or how little you want to decorate it. 

The words used her are from the "Happy Birthday Gorgeous" set.

Daisy Delight, Beautiful Bouquet, Birthday Card, Peek-a-Boo Technique

A while back I wrote up the instructions on how to do this simple "Peek-a-Boo" card technique. I thought this fun new "Daisy Delight" stamp set would be perfect for this technique, and it is!  Though I did have a bit of a problem with the color of the flower.  I thought if I used the new Berry Burst color it would have blended in too much with the Berry Burst decorative paper.  So I decide to use the new Fresh Fig color but it was too dark.  So I got out the Rich Razzleberry and that was a bit dark too but at that point, I was just going to go with it!!  You can find the instructions for this simple technique here.

I figured I would add some leaves to offset the flower a bit and it seemed to work.  I stamped them using Pear Pizzazz ink and fussy cut them out. I was going to stamp off but the green was then too light. So I just stamped the outline first and then the solid part.  I liked it so I cut them out. I did curl the ends a little to give them a bit of dimension.

I set the flower in place using a Dimensional and I used a "Gold Faceted Gem" for the center.

The words are from the "Beautiful Bouquet" set, I stamped them using Rich Razzleberry ink.  And that was it.  Cute, fun and easy!

Tranquil Tulips, Rose Wonder, Birthday Card

The new "Tranquil Tulips" is a Hostess set, I just had to get it. I thought it would be a very versatile set and you know how I feel about having versatile sets.  This could easily be a Thank you card, Mother's Day card, Get well card, a Thank you card and even a Sympathy card.

One of the things I like most about this set is that you don't have to stamp off.  The image is etched enough that it gives the appearance of being stamped off.  You just stamp the larger image first and then the smaller one on top and you have a beautiful flower with depth to it!

For this card I used a folded half-sheet of Whisper White cardstock. I added a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Berry Burst cardstock. On top of that is the Whisper White piece I stamped on, it measures 3-3/4" x 5".  

I stamped the stems first using Pear Pizzazz ink.  Then I stamped the flowers using Berry Burst ink.  The center of the flowers were stamped using Chocolate chip ink.  The words are from the "Rose Wonder" set and were stamped using Chocolate Chip ink.  And that was it. Pretty simple and very quick to make!

Daisy Delight, Happy Birthday Gorgeous, Birthday Card, Stampin' Up 2017-2018 Calendar

I saw this card by Carolyn at Kings on Paddington.  The moment I saw it I knew I wanted to make one.  I did change it a little.  I did have the words but I didn't realize that until after I had stamped these.  Oh, and I didn't have the ribbon, so I used some retired Daffodil Delight.  I just got some new ribbons but never the ones I want when I see a new card!! Isn't that how it goes? 

When I was at Carolyn's site, I didn't see any measurements for the card so I had to guess.  But I did write them down for you!

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Nigh of Navy. On top of that is a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Whisper White.  On top of that is a 3-3/4" x 5" piece of the daisy paper from the "Delightful Daisy" Designer Series Paper (DSP).

I cut a piece of Whisper White cardstock 2-1/4" x 3-1/2".  I stamped the "Happy Birthday" from the "Happy Birthday Gorgeous" set using Night of Navy ink.  I added a 2-1/2" x 3-3/4" piece of Night of Navy cardstock behind it.  Then I tied the ribbon around the piece.  Actually I tied some type of sailor's knot and taped the ends on the back.  Then I used Dimensionals to set the panel in place.

I stamped the flowers from the "Daisy Delight" set using Daffodil Delight ink and Whisper White cardstock.  I needed 4 flowers, two per.  I taped the flowers together and set them in place using Dimensionals. I added the new "Gold Faceted Gems" to the center of each flower and the card was done!

Very simple, quick and pretty too!

Daisy Delight, Happy Birthday Gorgeous, Birthday Card, 2017-2018 Stampin' Up! Catalog

I had some time today to play with the "Daisy Delight" set that I have wanted since the first day I saw it in the catalog. I wasn't the only one who wanted it.  When I went to order it on the first of June, it was not available.  It wasn't available until the 26th of June.  But I had plenty of other sets to play with.  So it arrived this week and a couple days later it's in my hands.  I don't know what it is about this flower but I just love the looks of it.  I wish they would have made a smaller one too, but I'm having fun with this one as it is.

The base of this card is the new "Tranquil Tide"colored cardstock. It's a folded half-sheet.  On top of that is a 4" x 5-1/4" of Crumb Cake.  On top of that is a 3-3/4" x 5" piece of Whisper White.  I also cut a 3-1/4" x 3-3/4" piece of the Tranquil Tide colored Decorative Series Paper (DSP) from the Delightful Daisy pack.  This color kind of reminds me of the old Hunter Green color from long ago!!!  It's not quite as dark, as I recall, but it's close!  Anyway, I cut the top part of the DSP and an angle.  I started at 1-5/8" up from the bottom on the left side and cut to the top corner of the right side.  I taped that piece in place on top of the Whisper White piece.  Then I added the "Burlap Ribbon".  

I stamped the flower from the "Daisy Delight" set 3 times using Crumb Cake ink.  I punched all three out and taped them in the centers.  I set the flower on top of the card for placement of the words. The words are from the "Happy Birthday Gorgeous" set. I stamped them using the Tranquil Tide ink pad. I also used the flower for reference for placement of the leaves. I stamped off once for the leaf and inked right from the pad for the outline.  

I set the flower in place using a Dimensional.  Not paying attention to the words. DUH!! But after I saw it on the screen, I moved it. I should have taken a new photo but I wanted you to see that I too make mistakes when I make cards.  The center of the flower has one of those new "Gold Faceted Gems".  

This was a very fun card to make and I plan on playing with this set a bit more before I move on to some of the other sets I have!

Happy Birthday Thinlits, Colorful Season, Birthday Card, Delightful Daisy

I got my "Delightful Daisy" Designer Series Paper (DSP) and was looking though it at all the beautiful designs.  This one was not as colorful as the others but it really caught my eye. I paired it up with a piece of matching Tranquil Tide cardstock. I cut the DSP 5-1/2" x 3" and I trimmed the cardstock 1-1/2" in on the top left and 2-1/4" in on the bottom left.

I liked what I saw but I wasn't sure what to do with it.  With just the DSP and the cardstock, it hardly qualified as a card.  I wanted something white.  I thought about making a white scalloped oval, but what to put in it???  

I was looking through my stamp sets and found the large "Happy Birthday".  I LOVE larger images, stamped or dies because they take up a lot of real estate!!!  I used the double sided sticky sheets to make affixing the words so much easier.  I put the cardstock on the sticky sheet and then I die cut the words.  I removed the protective backing and stuck the words in place.  SO simple and quick.  I did have to laugh at myself, I was going to add the words, I turned them over and opened up the "Fine Tip Glue Pen" bottle and I was actually going to try to glue it in place.  I am losing my mind!!!  Before even one drop hit the backing, I remembered that all I had to do was remove the protective layer and I was good to go.  So once I got the words on I thought the card needed something else.  Fortunately I had some flowers left from the "Colorful Season" and I set one in place and I liked what I saw.  And that is it!!  Super simple, quick and easy.

Colorful Season, Happy Birthday Gorgeous, Birthday Card, Stampin' Up Catalog 2017-2018

Here's a simple yet colorful card to make.  It wasn't my original plan for the flowers. The flower dies from the "Colorful Season" set has 3 different flowers to stamp and die cut out.  I stamped all three in three different colors, making 4 of each.  I die cut them all.  My plan was to make a horizontal row of flowers but as I was laying them out I couldn't stop it from looking awkward and out of place.  So I gathered up all of the flowers and put them in a container.  I had a few sitting out and as I was looking at them, I thought that a card with just three flowers might work.  So I changed the orientation of the flowers and this is what I came up with.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White cardstock.  Next is a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Sweet Sugarplum cardstock.  On top of that is a 3-3/4" x 5" piece of Rich Razzleberry.  And on top of that is a 3-1/2" x 4-3/4" piece of Whisper White.

I had stamped the flowers from the "Colorful Season" set using Rich Razzleberry, Berry Burst, and Sweet Sugarplum ink.  They were die and then set in place using a Dimensional.  Before I removed the protective backing on the Dimensionals, I set them in place and stamped the words.  The words are from the "Happy Birthday Gorgeous" set and I used Rich Razzleberry ink.  For the center of the flowers I used the yellow new "Glitter Enamel Dots". And that was it!  Very simple and quick to make too.

Cookie Cutter Christmas, Teeny Tiny Wishes, Baby Card

I was in need of a baby card.  I know, I have plenty in my stash, but I have this horrible quirk that I need a fresh one every time I need a card!!! But that's okay, I LOVE making cards, so it just gives me another excuse to play in my workroom!  I found the idea for this card here at "Cards and a Cuppa".

For this card I used a folded half-sheet of Pink Pirouette cardstock. On top of that is a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Smoky Slate cardstock.  And on top of that is the embossed background piece cut 3-3/4" x 5".  I used the "Cable Knit" embossing folder.  Remember to spritz it with some water before embossing it, that way the paper will have a bit more give and will be less likely to tear. I taped that piece to the Smoky Slate and tied a ribbon around the two.  I didn't have any current ribbon so I used some 3/8" retired pink Organdy Ribbon.  I taped that to the card base.

I die cut a large scalloped oval and a small scalloped oval using Pirouette Pink cardstock.  I stamped the bear from the "Cookie Cutter Christmas set using Pirouette Pink ink.  I punched out the bear and I also punched out two hearts and a bow using the Dazzling Diamonds glitter paper.

The words are from the "Teeny Tiny Wishes" set and they were stamped using Smoky Slate ink.  The ovals were set in place using Dimensionals and the bear was set in place using Dimensionals as well. And that was it.  A very cute and fun baby card!!

Flourishing Phrases, Friendship Card, Embossing Paste Technique

I am learning to like the Lemon Lime Twist color cardstock. I'm not a big fan of the greens as it is, but the darker they are the more I like them.  The lighter they are the less I like it. Maybe come Halloween this color will grow on me and be used in some fun cards.  

This card was one that I made for the Stamping Extravaganza a couple of weekends ago.  I was demonstrating the new "Embossing Paste" and I played with the "Eastern Medallions" Thinlits Dies.  

First I die cut the larger outer image from scrap cardstock. Then I used colored "Embossing Paste" and filled in the template with that.  I let that dry while I worked on the rest of the card.  I made another template using a smaller image from the "Eastern Medallions".  Once that first outer ring was dry, I used the Lemon Lime Twist ink with some "Embossing Paste" and filled in the smaller template.  I set it aside to dry. You can use your heat tool to speed up drying but remember not to get too close to it or the paste will bubble and blister.  Unless that's the effect you are looking for!!!

The base of this card is a folded half sheet of Whisper White cardstock.  On top of that is a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Lemon Lime Twist" card stock that was dry embossed using the new "Garden Trellis" folder.  I did emboss first and then cut it to 4" x 5-1/4".  Next I used the new Decorative Ribbon Border punch and a piece of Fresh Fig cardstock. I taped the strip in place on the card.  I used the largest circle die and cut out the "Embossing Paste" image.  I set that in place using Dimensionals.

For the final part of the card, I stamped the "Hello" from the "Flourishing Phrases" set.  I die cut it out with the circle die and behind it is a Fresh Fig scalloped circle.  I set that in place in the center of the medallion using Dimensionals and that was it.  Not one of my favorite cards, I was just showing what you can do with the "Embossing Paste".

Oh What Fun, Softly Falling, Embossing Paste Technique, Christmas Card

I try not to post Christmas cards early, but I wanted to share this card with you that I made for the Stamping Extravaganza a little over a week ago.  

The technique here is the "Embossing Paste".  I was at my table showing people how easy it is to work with this paste.  To color it, to make it even more textured, to add glitter, to die cut it, to stamp on it and many other things.  It's a fun and versatile product.  I have worked with other embossing pastes but I find this one to be super smooth, it has the consistency of cold cream and a light hit of paint.  The smell is not overpowering and you can only smell it if you put your nose right up to the jar.  

For this card I die cut 3 circles. You can die cut one large circle, square or even an oval.  I just needed a template so I could lay down a layer of the "Embossing Paste".  I sprinkled Dazzling Diamonds glitter on it while it was still wet.  Someone referred to the effect as "making your own glitter paper". I set the sheet aside to dry while I got the rest of the card ready.

The base of this card is a folded half sheet of Whisper White cardstock.  Next I cut a piece of Real Red 4" x 5-1/4".  On top of that layer is a piece of Whisper White cut 3-7/8" x 5-1/8".  I textured it using the "Softly Falling" embossing folder.  

Next I cut a piece of Real Red cardstock 3-1/4" x 2-1/8".  The Whisper White piece was cut 3-1/8" x 2".  I stamped the "Happy Christmas" from the "Oh What Fun" set using Real Red ink.  I taped those two layers together.

When the "Embossing Paste" was dry I used the snowflakes from the "Seasonal Layers" Thinlits set that has the matching stamp set "Colorful Season".  I saved the tiny circle "dots" that popped out of the largest and smallest snowflakes.

I set the word layers in place using Dimensionals.  Then I added the snowflakes.  I scattered those "dots" around the card.  I think it would be a fun touch to add some rhinestone crystals to the center of each of the snowflakes.  But I guess I wasn't in the mood for fun when I made this card!!! LOL

It was fun to make and that "Embossing Paste" is even more fun to play with!

Memories & More, Rose Wonder, Thank You Card

Here's a fun and easy card you can make using the "Memories & More" card pack.  I think it's more for the memory books but the images are SO beautiful that you can make cards using them.  So today I thought I would get it a try and this is what I came up with.

The photo below is what the card looked like before I altered it.  I cut the card just past the line and open area where you could write a sentiment.  I fussy cut around the flowers and leaves.  I wanted to keep the flowers intact so I had to cut around them and just cut the top part of the card on the cutter to the large flower. 

I added a piece of Whisper White cardstock behind it so the piece equaled 3-7/8" x 5-1/8"   

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Sweet Sugarplum cardstock. The next layer is a piece of Old Olive cut 4" x 5-1/4".

The words are from the "Rose Wonder" set, I stamped them using Old Olive ink.  And that was pretty much it.  A fun, quick, easy and beautiful thank you card!
