Today I thought I would make a Father's Day card using the retiring "Wilderness Awaits" set. I didn't like how I colored the deer in but there really are not a lot of choices for colors for deer! I suppose I could have sponged the deer and it may have looked a bit lighter, but it is what it is today!!!
For this card I used a folded half-sheet of Very Vanilla cardstock. Then I added a piece of Soft Suede that I textued with the "Large Polka Dots" embossing folder. Then I trimmed it to 4" x 5-1/4".
Next I cut a piece of the "Urban Underground" decorative paper to 2-1/4" x 4". I was going to use it parallel to the edge of the Soft Suede background piece but I thought I would change things up today. I set that piece on crooked and I kind of liked it. Then I took a half a blue and gold donut from the May 2017 Paper Pumpkin kit and taped it to the back of the Urban Underground piece. I taped those two pieced in place on the Soft Suede background.
Then I cut a piece of Very Vanilla 3-1/3" x 2-7/8" and stamped the deer using Basic Black ink. I colored the deer in using the Crumb Cake marker. I used the Smoky Slate marker on the rocks and the Delightful Dijon marker on the antlers.
The words were done on my computer. I printed them out and die cut them with the circle dies. I set the words in place using Dimensionals.
It was a quick card to make, though I wish the deer would have been colored differently.
Thank you SO much for visiting today,
Wanda
