I am making thank you cards for my friends and family that had bought me gifts while I was healing from my total hip replacement. I'm still healing, it's only been 5 weeks. But I'm at about 75% so I think I'm doing pretty good!!
As I was looking at Pinterest, I found this fun card. You can see the original card here. I was thrilled because, not only is it cute but I got to use the "Special Reason" set that is retiring soon. I have not played with it enough and the more I look on Pinterest, the more I find to make. It's another lesson in buying too many stamp sets. I need to keep it down to 4 or 5 new ones and be happy with that. And then I need to keep reminding myself why I'm not buying every set I see that I like!!! That's the hard part.
For my leaves, I used Pear Pizzaz ink.
The larger flower was stamped using So Saffron ink and then the center has Crushed Curry daubed on. And the very center has a little Flirty Flamingo rubbed in. I did that after I was making the other two flowers.
For the other two flowers, I took a 2" x 2" piece of Whisper White card stock. I daubed the center with Crushed Curry and then scrubbed in Flirty Flamingo on one and Sweet Sugarplum on the other.
I started out with the large flower. After stamping and coloring it, I die cut it out. Then I set in in place on the 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Whisper White card stock. I needed to see where to die cut the small flowers. Before I taped the 2" x 2" pieces on the back of the small flower die cuts, I set the large flower where I thought it would be going so I could know where to stamp the leaves. Once the leaves were stamped, I stamped the words. Next I taped the 2" x 2" pieces on the backs of the small flowers. I made sure the yellow was centered on the flower. Then I set the large flower in place using Dimensionals. I set the 4" x 5-1/4" panel in place on a folded half-sheet of Whisper White cardstock and the card was done. Pretty simple and very lovely!!
