The "Nailed It" set and "Build It" Framelits set are going to be retiring at the end of the month. I was VERY sad to see these go, especially when there are not a lot of masculine stamp sets in the catalog as it is. I thought for sure this fun set would carry over, but alas it did not. So I thought I would search Google for a fun card to make using it. I found this fun card here. But I did change the wording part. I had printed my words out on the computer. There were "Happy Father's Day words that came with the stamp set but they were in a hexagon shape and I didn't want that on this card. SO, I just used my computer and printed out the wording.
The base of this card is a folded half sheet of Delightful Dijon cardstock. On top of that is a 4-1/8" x 5-3/8" piece of Basic Black cardstock. Then a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Very Vanilla cardstock. And on top is a 3-3/8" x 5" piece of "Urban Underground" Decorative Series Paper (DSP). Actually it's 2 pieces of DSP. The stripes on the left were cut 1" x 5".
After taping the layers together, I die cut the wrench, screwdriver, and hammer using the silver foil paper. Then I stamped the screwdriver and hammer using Delightful Dijon cardstock and Basic Black ink. I die cut those pieces out as well. I cut the cardstock so I was using just the handles of the tools and I taped them in place on the foil die cut pieces.
I printed out the words on a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock and I used the stitched oval die to cut it out. Then I assembled the top of the card. First I added the screwdriver and then the wrench. I used Dimensionals behind the oval and I added the hammer last.
It was a fun card to make but it still makes me sad that it's retiring.
Thank you SO much for stopping by today,
Wanda
