Flourishing Phrases, Flourish Thinlits, Timeless Texture, Thank You Card

Today I found a fun card on Pinterest and knowing that I didn't have everything to make it, I decided to improvise and use what I have.  You can see the original card here.

The base of this card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White cardstock. A 4" x 5-1/4" layer of Whisper White is set on top using Dimensionals.  But before that happens all of the other elements of the card happen!!!

First I stamped the splatter using the "Timeless Texture" set. I also stamped it in the bottom left corner, using Mint Macaron ink.  I thought it needed something more there.

Next I die cut the flower and the lacy border piece using Whisper White cardstock.  I glued them in place, the flower on the cardstock and the lacy border on top of a 4" x 3/4" piece of decorative paper from the 12" x 12" In color pad.  I set them aside to dry.

Then I took a paper doily and cut it in half.  I also cut a circle of Mint Macaron cardstock.  I cut the circle in half and taped it to the doily.  I taped the doily in place on the front panel.  On the original card the words are near the bottom right.  I moved mine to the top, mostly because I would have had to move the white flowers up higher and it was too late to do that.  So, the words went at the top. There was plenty of room and I think they look just fine up there.  After I set the doily piece in place I added the decorative paper strip.  Then I took some linen thread and wound it around my glue bottle 2 times and slid it off.  I used a glue dot and some tape to set it in place on top of the strip.

The flower is from the "Flourishing Phrases" set.  I stamped it using Mint Macaron and then I had to fussy cut it out.  I didn't realize that until I was looking through the "Flourish" Thinlits and there was no flower.  Did you hear me scream "NO" where you live?  LOL  I am SO spoiled using the Thinlits that fussy cutting is now something I try to avoid.  But I managed to do it and I survived it!!! LOL  I added Dimensionals to the back of the flower and set it in place trying to center it with the doily and half circle piece.

I added some rhinestones to the card and one to the center of the flower and it was done.  When I first saw this card I didn't think it was that involved.  It didn't take a long time to make but it's definitely NOT a quick card!!  I still need a few more thank you cards so I'd better find a new one for tomorrow!

Thank you SO much for visiting today,
Wanda
