Best Birds, Birthday Card, 3D Fence Card Technique

It's time for another fun technique.  Today's card was from one of Terri's Technique Tuesdays.  I think it was from a couple of months ago.  It's a very fun technique and rather easy, even though it may look a bit complicated.

For this card we used the "Best Birds" set, and the "Hardwood" background.

I will give you a tip in assembling the card.  After assembling, open up the box (the fence) part first and set it on the front of the card without any tape.  That way you will see which part of the box needs the tape or glue.  If you look closely at my card you can see on the left (of the top image) that I had my tape wrong and I had to remove it, which resulted in the paper tearing.  But it's just a sample so it's okay.  But I did learn that important lesson and I'm sharing it with you so you don't make that same mistake.  I think next time I try a technique that is like this I may use removable tape and then tape with regular tape later, once I've made sure I know what I'm doing and where the tape goes!!!  I'm great when it comes to designing and assembling my own creations but when I have to follow directions, well.....  I don't always do it very well!!!  Okay, I shouldn't say "always", because most of the time I do, but there are occasions when I mess things up!!  Yup, even I mess things up!!! LOL

I don't know if you can see it in the photos, but this actually opens up into a regular size card too. The base of this card is a folded half sheet of Soft Suede. Then the Very Vanilla is put on top of that and then the box is added after all the stamping is done.  There's a tutorial on You Tube that shows you how to do this technique. Just click here.

Thank you SO much for visiting today,
Wanda
