Today I thought I would play with the March 2017 Paper Pumpkin. I am one who likes full-size cards so I took the note card and cut it in half to use the more solid colored piece. Using this layout allowed me to make the full-size card I was looking for.
For this card I used a folded half-sheet of Sweet Sugarplum cardstock. I cut off 1" from the right front.
I cut a piece of decorative paper from the "Blooms & Bliss" pack to 3" x 5-1/4".
For that inside piece, I cut a piece of Raspberry Ripple 6-1/2" x 3-1/4". The dotted piece on top is from the Paper Pumpkin Kit. I set that on top (this little card opens from left to right). I also added a piece of Whisper White to the inside. It measured 3" x 3" (the same as that dotted piece on the front).
Next I stamped the bunny face. I punched it out with the 1-3/8" circle punch. I stamped the ears and fussy cut them out. I colored the inside of the ears with the Blush Blossom marker. I made sure I left a little bit of extra paper at the ends of the ears to tape them behind the head piece. If you forget, you can just tape the head on first and then try to get the ears on the edge of the head circle. When I got done with the face, I did take a Q-tip and Blush Blossom ink and added a little blush on both sides of the nose. I also colored the eye dots in with Pool Party ink. I didn't like how blah the face edge looked, so I took a sponge and sponged the edges with Blush Blossom ink. I still didn't like it so I took my Basic Black marker and ran it around the edge of the face. It looked more like it was a stamped circle and it fit better with the black edges on the ears. I set it in place on the smaller card. I tied a piece of white Baker's Twine to the fold of the little card.
I taped the back of the little card and set it in place on the inside of the larger card. See the photo for the placement.
It's an easy and fun layout, plus I got to make a full-size card using the Paper Pumpkin kit!!!
Thank you SO much for visiting today,
Wanda
