Bloomin' Love, Dutch Door Technique Card

Here's another card I had received in the technique swap last month. It's called the "Dutch Door" technique and it's super simple to do.  Click here to see the card I made for the swap. The instructions to do this simple technique can also be found there.

This card was made by Shelly at Terri's Tuesday Technique night.

This card was made using a quarter sheet of Whisper White cardstock. The piece was dry embossed with the the Happy Heart embossing folder.  Then the Dutch Door was added.

On the front of the door, the paper from the "Floral Boutique" Decorative Series Paper (DSP) was cut 5-1/4" x 2".

The heart from the "Bloomin' Love" set was stamped using Night of Navy ink and die cut with the 2-3/8" circle framelit.

Then the Dazzling Diamonds scalloped circle was cut using the framelit that measures around 2-3/4". I LOVE this glittery paper.  It's so sparkly and it can really jazz up a card. It's kind of hard to see it in the photo, but if you click on the photo you can get a better look. If you don't have any of the glittery paper, you can always just use Whisper White and it will still look pretty and you can color in some "Wink of Stella" if you have some.

The heart piece was set in place on the glittery piece using Dimensionals.  You need something stickier than just tape runner.  There's also three rhinestones added to that heart.  Again, click on the photo to see them.

Now for the tricky part.  Only tape half of the heart.  The left half.  Set it in place on half of the Dutch Door and you're done!!

Wasn't that fun and easy?  Oh and pretty too!!!

This can be used as a Wedding card, an Anniversary card and a Valentine's day card.  Or just a card to let someone know you love them!!

Thank you so much for visiting today,
Wanda
