Today I was playing around with some fonts on my computer and I ended up with this. Though I am not pleased with it once I saw it on here. I think I need to move the word "soon" over to the center. I think it will balance it out better. In a different font it was fine but these too, though they do meld together nicely, they need to be centered with each other. There's a lot more to combining fonts than I thought, but it's a fun learning experience.
I found a fun card on and I thought I would make a masculine get well card. I LOVED how the original card had the sponging on the bottom left. I tried to duplicate it but sponging is not an exact science and you will never be able to duplicate your own sponging. I do like what I ended up with and if you do not compare it to the original card no one will be the wiser!!! LOL You can see the original card here.
Before I began the sponging, I cut an "L" shaped piece of cardstock so I could use it as a template to sponge. I taped it in place with removable tape. Then I sponged. Once I was done sponging I took my stylus and my scoring board and made the lines on the side and bottom. The original card had the lines going all the way up and down and across both sides. I liked it but I wanted to try to be a little different, so I just stopped where they intersected.
Next I stamped the goose on the card stock. Then I stamped another one and fussy cut it out. I colored in the beak, head and neck using a Basic Gray marker. Then I used a blender pen and the Chocolate Chip marker and colored in the goose.
The words were done on my computer and I used the stitches oval die to cut them out. I used a scalloped oval die to cut out the layer behind it. I set the words and goose in place using Dimensionals. And that was it. Not too difficult but I don't see myself making a lot of them!!!
Thank you SO much for visiting today,
