Balloon Adventures, Birthday Card, 2017 Occasions Catalog

Today I'm going to share with you a birthday card I received from my friend and a fabulous demonstrator Terri.  I saw this set in the new 2017 Occasions catalog but I passed it up. There were other sets that I wanted instead.  It was quite a long wish list that needed thinning out.  And I mean REALLY thin!  I think I liked almost everything in that catalog!  Oh, what's new?  I always like most of the stuff in the catalogs.  I wanted to be more picky when it came to what I buy.  I would have from the time it arrives until May 31st to play with them.  A little longer than the holiday one!  So, I could add a few extra things to play with. But I had to keep in mind that I still have things from the 2016 - 2107 catalog that I have not played with yet, or have not played with enough. Anyway, long story short, I did order this bundle.  I get the stamps plus the dies.  Such a deal.  I will make some fun cards and post them on here when I do.

For this card, I can sort of guide you through it. I say sort of because I didn't make it.  The base of the card is a folded half sheet of Whisper White card stock that was cut on the short side.  The Decorative Series Paper (DSP) is called "Party Animal".  I like how Terri added a thin strip of Daffodil Delight behind the layers. And I like how it's open in the center.

The words are from the "Balloon Adventures" stamping set.

The balloons here are made with the die cut that is from the "Balloon Pop-up Thinlits Dies.  When you buy the bundle you get both sets plus 10% the original price of each. I love the bows that come with the dies too.  How fun is that?  Baker's Twine was curled and added to the balloons.  I think I'm going to have a LOT of fun with this set.

When I opened the envelope, the card was opened and folded backwards.  I thought it was odd but then I realized that in doing that the images stay nice after going through the postal system!!  Such a smart idea!

This looks like a fun set and I'll be sharing some cards with you soon!

Thank you for stopping by today,
Wanda
