I found this fun card on Pinterest. You can see it here. I loved the red background behind the reindeer. I think that is what caught my eye. Every time I look at the card, my eye is drawn to that circle. Which is a very good thing. You want to pick colors that draw the eyes attention to the focal point. The eye is attracted to red so it will always be drawn there. So when using red, you want to make it on or near your focal point. You also want your eye to move around the card too. Once it's done with the red, it moves around to other elements of the card. If that happens, then you created a very well balanced card!! There, a little art lesson for you today! LOL
This was a very simple and quick card to make. Well, quick if you are fast at coloring. That part slowed me down a little but not too much.

I used the "Candy Cane Lane" Decorative Series Paper (DSP) on the background layer. The base of the card is a folded half sheet of Crumb Cake. I've used that color so much this holiday season that I think I am going to have to order some more, my stash is down!!!
A strip of red dotted DSP was added to the background piece, along with a strip of Chocolate Chip and Real Red. I don't think it matters what size you cut them, they still look good. My Chocolate Chip piece is a bit bigger than the original one but it doesn't matter!
A piece of white and red Baker's Twine was tied around the piece before it was taped in place on the card front. The scalloped circle layer was set in place with Dimensionals as well as the Reindeer.
I love how the head is tilted just enough to make that face look even cuter!!!
Thank you SO much for visiting today,
