Today I found a fun folded pocket technique to play with. I liked the concept but thought it would be better on a card. Kind of kills two birds with one stone. A gift and a card all in one!!!
I found the pockets on Pinterest. I clicked the image and it brought me to Stampin' Scrapper by Joyce. I thought they were so cute and I've always wanted to make a pocket. These would be fun at Christmas time to hold a gift card!!! Hmmm, I'm going to have to keep that in mind!
This was very simple to make. I started out with a folded half-sheet of Basic Black card stock. Then I added a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Pumpkin Pie card stock. Then I added a Whisper White layer measuring 3-3/4" x 5". I stamped on it by inking up my largest clear block with Smoky Slate ink and stamping it on my card stock. Each one you do will look different!
I made my pocket using the fun "Halloween Night" Specialty Paper (you only need a 6" x 6" piece per pocket). I die cut a scalloped oval to fit the figure. I taped it in place with some super sticky tape, the regular snail wouldn't be strong enough.
I stamped and punched out the adorable vampire. I colored him with markers and set him in place on the oval using Dimensionals. And that was it. Though I would recommend taping the pocket to the card before you add the images. I found it a bit bulky. I did use a bone folder and went inside the pocket to press the tape in place. Oh, and I did use stronger tape on the back of the pocket too.
Alone or on a card they are just TOO DARN CUTE!!!
Thank you SO much for visiting today,
