A Timeless Texture, Tin of Cards and Botanical Builder Birthday Card

I have to admit, I have not played with embossing powder in a long time. I don't know why. I do have to leave my worktable to go over to the counter that I have the heat tool and embossing powders on.  But I also have to go over to that same counter to use my Big Shot, so it can't be the lazy thing! And I'm not afraid of burning myself or the paper.  I don't have a clue!  But when I do use embossing powders, I'm usually happy with the way things turned out.

For this card I first stamped the lacy leaf looking images from the "Timeless Texture" set using Crumb Cake ink.  Then I used the Embossing Buddy to make sure the embossing powder would only stick where I wanted it to.  Then I used Versa Mark and the coffee rings looking image.  I embossed it using gold embossing powder. Plus I used the dotted image in the set and made some splatters and embossed them in gold at the same time.

Then I went back to my worktable and added some Tempting Turquoise ink to the card front.

The words are from the "Tin of Card" set and I stamped them using Soft Suede ink.   Now that I look at this card on the computer, I'm thinking that sponging the edges on the focal panel may have added a bit more interest to the card.

I die cut the flower from the "Botanical Builders" using Pacific Point card stock.  The leaf is from the same die cut set and I used Garden Green card stock.  I colored a pearl using a brown Sharpie and set it in place on the flower.

The flower is set in place using a Dimensional.  I added the Dimensional and I set the stem of the leaf on that same Dimensional and set it all in place on the card at the same time.

For the layers I used Pacific Point and Tempting Turquoise.  I couldn't decide which color I was going to use and when I had them both in one hand I decided I would go with both.  I was going to cut the flower out of the Pacific Point piece before adding it to the layers but I forgot.  No one would have noticed that between the layers.  But I had a scrap piece, so I didn't have to ruin a quarter sheet to cut out one flower. The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Crumb Cake card stock.

This was a very fun card to make and I do like how it turned out, even without the sponging on the edges.
