I found this fun card at Deborah's "Cards Paper and Scraps" blog. And as usual, I did change it a little. Mostly because I was using what I had. I didn't have the same words she used (I don't know what set her words were from, she didn't list it). I used the words from the "Rose Wonder set and made it work.
I didn't have the same decorative paper for the left side, so I used some from the Neutrals 12" x 12" stack.
I didn't have the Emerald Green enamel dots. So I took some pearls and a dark red Sharpie marker and colored them in.
There were a couple of things on this card that I thought were a new and fun idea. I liked how the leaf hung over the word panel. Probably not so new but it's not done very often. I also like how the border piece behind the words was left solid instead of open like it's suppose to be. It made for a nice border edging. I thought it was a bit tough to keep all of the pieces in place. I even tried the Press & Seal paper. That was a HUGE mistake. I ended up running it though my Big Shot and then turning the plates upside down so the little pieces would stay in place. Then I cut a 1/4" strip of Basic Black card stock and ran tape across it. I set it in place on the backside of the border piece and carefully removed it from the Thinlit. A few pieces didn't want to stick so I had to press them in place and try again. It took a couple of minutes but I did get it to work.
I like how the card turned out. It's a little different than Deborah's but it's still pretty much the same!!
