A Guy Greetings Masculine Birthday Card

If you are needing a quick and simple masculine birthday card, this is the way to go!!!  It doesn't get much more simpler than this.  Well, I suppose if you don't add the layers but then it would be a bit boring too!!  I like simple!  With Night of Navy, stamp a car and stamp the words.  I trimmed them up to look equal all the way around and I layered them with Night of Navy card stock.  The ribbon piece is also Night of Navy.  I was going to use some decorative paper but in looking though my paper stacks, I realized that I did not have the current Regals stack of paper.  I could have used last year's retired ones but I when I was heading for it, I saw the ribbon and went that route!  It worked out just fine.  The decorative paper may have been a bit too busy. I know it would have taken away from this clean and simple look!

I set the car and the words in place using Dimensionals.  I taped the ribbon onto the textured card stock and then glued that to a folded half sheet of Night of Navy.  I glue textured pieces because I feel that the tape doesn't stick as well.  There's too many hills and valleys and the tape doesn't make a solid contact.  I could use the Sticky Strip but it's just easier for me to glue.  Using the Sticky Strip would involve getting off my comfy chair and heading on over to my shelf to find the tape!!!   We can't have that now, can we?  LOL

A Sparkly Season Birthday Card

I'm excited to share this card with you today.  My sister had brought over a birthday cake layered card that I thought would be fun to remake.  The only thing was, it was done a while ago and all the items on it are retired.  Not that we can't use our imaginations and our current resources and redo it!  Like I just did today.
When I saw this ballerina, I knew what I wanted to do with it.  This cake card came to mind.  I did struggle a little with it because I was just going to use the ballerina only and not the globe look.  But after stamping just the ballerina on the card stock I didn't like what I saw.  So I decided to use the globe and I'm glad I did. This is such a great card for a little girl, or for someone who LOVES ballerinas!
There's 3 pieces to the cake and they fold opposite of each other when assembled.  The measurements for this cake (which are different than the ones I saw on the original card due to the length of the ballerina.  You can adjust your cake pieces to the length of your focal item.  I just made sure the next two layers looked like they were in proportion to the rest of the cake.  So, for my pieces I cut the following out of decorative paper, 4-3/4" x 3/4", 6" x 2-1/2", and  8" x 1-3/4".   For the base of the cake use the 8" piece and fold it in half, but keep in mind which design you want on the bottom.  For the center piece use the 6" piece and fold it in half.  Again, you need to pay attention to the design you want.  If there is words on the decorative paper you will also need to pay attention to their orientation.  This piece will be added with the fold on the right side.  And for the top piece you will fold that piece in half and the paper (on my card) has the same side showing as the bottom layer of the cake.

Once I had those pieces folded I used a corner rounder on the top corners of all three pieces.  I set them aside to work on the globe.  I stamped the globe and then the ballerina. I cut it out with the die that is in the "Seasonal Frames" Thinlits dies.  I colored in the ballerina and then I stamped the dots using VersaMark and some Heat and Stick powder.  I stamped the base of the globe and cut it out by hand, no die for that one.

So to assemble my card, I first took a 1/4 sheet of Whisper White card stock for the base.  Then I took a piece of Pink Pirouette and added some texture with an embossing folder and I attached it to the base of the card. I glued my piece on because I think it holds better on textured pieces than tape does.  Then I took the base of the cake piece and I also glued that piece on, only because it was going on top of a textured piece. The bottom and side edges of the bottom of the cake piece needs to line up with the textured piece. Next I took the center piece and centered it on the opened cake bottom piece. Make sure this piece opens from left to right.  I left it that piece open and then taped the cake top piece on the inside of the center piece. I added the globe base to the inside of the top layer.  I also added a scalloped circle with the words that I had printed from my computer.  Then I folded the cake pieces shut and lined up the ballerina globe piece and glued it in place.  A bow was added to the base layer of the cake and the card was done.  It sounds a lot more complicated than it is.  I cut my pieces out of scrap copier paper first so I could better understand how to assemble them.  It was a very fun card to make and I could see myself making more in the future!!

A Guy Greetings, Gorgeous Grunge, and Wetlands Dad Birthday Card

Yup, another monochromatic card and again in black and white! That's only because I had cut out two cars and layered both of them yesterday.  It's something I often do and then I set the other one aside to get lost so I can find it someday and am happy because I found something almost finished!!! Crazy thinking!!!! LOL  Well, as per the norm for me, I did leave the layered circle on my worktable but it didn't get covered up or moved to the corner.  I actually used it, as you can see.   This card could use a little work on the greetings panel.  I wished I would have done the dots stamping off once.  I think the black dots are just a bit too dark for the greetings.  I do like this "Gorgeous Greetings" set.  I especially like the background on the large panel.  I think it would be a fun background for a cow focal image!!!  Anyway, this card is okay!  It was still fun to make and if you need a quick card, the one from yesterday was quicker but this one didn't take long either!

A Guy Greetings Birthday Card for Dad!

Today I opened up my 12 x 12 Neutrals paper pack.  I thought the striped piece would be great with the car from the "Guy Greetings" set.  This is a typical black and white card.  The words are from the "Happy Birthday, Everyone" set.  The car and words were also layered in black, and the base of the card is black.  WOW, this is a sort post. There's not a lot to say about this card.  It's a quick and simple one!!

Skipping Stones Design August Challenge

Today I'm going to share a card I made for the Skipping Stone Design August Challenge.  I struggled a little with my card.  I had originally stamped the card using two shades of green and then colored in the round areas on the tree with blue, red, yellow, and orange.  I added some Stickles and glitter to those colored spots.  Then I had die cut a window and added a piece of transparency to it.  Then I added some more Stickles and glitter to make it look like there was snow on the window.  As it was drying I thought I would play with the set again and that is when I came up with the card I have here.  I do like how it turned out.  So much so that I abandoned the first tree for this one!

I had stamped the tree here using VersaMark and I heat set gold embossing powder.  Then I took an olive colored ink pad and a blender pen and colored in the tree.  I added some rhinestones that I had colored with Sharpie markers.  The tree was set in place using sticky foam dots.  I like to buy the foam tape and punch out my own dots using a regular paper punch.  I wipe the sticky part with a rubbing alcohol pad and then punch. If you punch without the alcohol, you will have dots stuck to your punch. Plus you will still be getting out the alcohol wipes to clean off your punch!  Just thought I would save you some time and frustration. And yes, I'm speaking from experience!!! LOL

I found some fun Christmas decorative paper from the "Christmas & Winter stack from DCWV.  I layered my card in a pale green. The base of the card is white.  I added some green snowflakes using the Martha Stewart punch.  I know, green snowflakes!!!But it worked!!  And I liked it and that is what was even more important!!!  LOL  I added some very large clear rhinestones to the center of the snowflakes.  And I added some small rhinestones to the decorative paper.  I was going to color them the same as what was on the tree but the more I thought about how it would distract from the tree I decided to leave them clear, and I'm glad I did.

And while rummaging through my embossing folders I found a fun snowflake background one by Cricut.

So to assemble the card. I folded a half sheet of white card stock on the long side.  Then I added a piece of green card stock.  Then the snowflake piece.  The decorative paper was then added and on top of that was the tree panel that I layered with green.  Randomly place the snowflakes on the card and the rhinestones and you're done!!

The tree stamp comes in the set you see above.  You can purchase it in the Skipping Stones Design store.

A Sparkly Season and Happy Scenes Halloween Card

My sister left me with her new stamp sets and I'm playing!  I've got lots of ideas and there's lots of stamp sets!!! Today I thought I would make another Halloween card.  I saw one on  a card on Pinterest and traced it  back to Mary Fish.  Here is her card.  I didn't have the same background paper as she did so I used the spider web from the "Happy Scenes" set.  I did change it a little.  I do like how mine turned out.

I love it that this set has matching dies with it too!!!  Stampin' Up! is making me never want to cut out anything ever again!!! LOL

For my card I used a folded half sheet of Whisper White.  I stamped the corners with the spider we set from the "Happy Scenes" set.  Then I took a piece of Pumpkin Pie decorative paper and stamped the pumpkin face on it.  I used the die and cut out the hole in the center.  I stamped the "GREETINS" that came with the "Sparkly Season" set.  I stamped the stem using Old Olive ink and colored it in with Pear Pizzazz.

The "spooky" die comes with the die set.  I set it in place above the "greetings".  I layered the focal piece with Pumpkin Pie card stock and I set it in place using Dimensionals.  It's a pretty simple card to make!

A Happy Scenes Halloween Card

Today my sister dropped of some stuff for me and this was something that was in the bag!!!  It's the "Happy Scenes" set from the new Occasions catalog!!!  I thought it would be a great set to play with because it covers fall, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas and winter!  All that in one set!!! So I'm sure you can see my wheels turning with this set!  I have LOTS of plans for it!!  Ideas were popping all afternoon.  The first card I wanted to make was a fall card but it ended up being a Halloween card.  Which is fine because I like Halloween too!  I didn't have any current Halloween decorative paper so I used the standard pads and went from there.

I used the striped Pumpkin Pie paper for my first colored panel.  Then some dotted Old Olive.  On top of that is my stamped image and I set it place using Dimensionals.

To color in my image I used markers and sponges!! First I colored in the leaves and pumpkins with the Pumpkin Pie marker.   Then I sponged the ground with Old Olive.  I sponged the sky with Soft Sky and then I added a little Smoky Slate to the sky.  I sponged in circles to give the sky the look of a windy day.  I sponged the sky edges of the panel with Soft Sky and the ground edges were sponged with Old Olive. I layered each panel with Early Espresso.

On the Whisper White piece I stamped the words, which came with the set!!!  I had a lot of fun creating this card today!!

A By the Sea, Gorgeous Grunge and Happy Birthday, Everyone Masculine Birthday Card

Today I was trying to go for the postage/envelope look. I sort of succeeded.  I did have fun creating this card.  I think if I were to do it again, I may have tried other colors but for today, it is what it is!!!

I stamped the fish on a scrap piece of Whisper White card stock and colored it in.  I took a 1" square punch and punched the fish head out.  I set this piece aside.

Next I stamped the "happy Birthday" from the "Happy Birthday, Everyone" set using black Memento ink.  I layered it with Island Indigo. I added Dimensionals to the back and set the piece aside.

I used Whisper White as the base of my card.  I added a piece of Island Indigo card stock.  For the Soft Sky piece, I used Island Indigo ink and the see weed image stamped off.  It doesn't show up well in the photo, but in real life you can see it.  Then I added some stamped off dots from the Gorgeous Grunge set. Then I used the embossing folder and textured that piece.  Oh, but before I did that I added a little piece of tape to my fish part and I set it in place on the card.  I then stamped the anchor from the "By the Sea" set. Now if you are going to recreate this card, I would recommend stamping the anchor image where you think it should go and then stamping the anchor again on the edge of the fish piece.  Once it's textured then you can match them up.  I was able to match it up enough but it would have been easier had the two anchors been stamped separately.  I taped the fish and Island Indigo piece in place.  Then I added the words.  As simple as that.  I like it.  It's a great card for the fisherman in your life!!

A For the New Two Wedding Card

I LOVE red and white cards and what a better occasion to make them than for a wedding!!  Well, and for Valentine's Day too but that's a long time away!!

I borrowed my sister's "For the New Two" set.  I had stamped a few images from it the last time we were together stamping and I misplaced them.  I did find them, it turns out I had actually put them away. I can never find anything once I've put it away!!! LOL I like to leave my stuff sit out, I know where it is!!! It kind of reminds me of my dad.  He had the most messiest workbench but he knew where everything was on it.  He even knew if you borrowed a tool and put it back because it was not in the exact place he had set it!!  I think that messy habit has rubbed off on me!!! UGH!!!  Though my worktables are not that messy!!

Okay, let's talk about this card.  It's a pretty simple card to make.  I used an embossing folder for the background.  I stamped the words and I layered everything.  That pretty much sums it up.

The base of the card is a folded half sheet of Whisper White card stock. I don't have very many background texture folders so you will see the same ones quite often on my cards.  I added it on top of a piece of Real Red card stock.  I added a piece of ribbon to those two layers before I taped them onto the Whisper White. The words were layered on top of a piece of Real Red and set in place using Dimensionals.   I tied a bow and used a large pop up glue dot to set it in place on the card.

I will share with you a little trick I use when adding color like I did here on the heart.  I stamped the words using Memento black ink. Then I took my blender pen and removed the color on the heart.  Next I took my Real Red marker and colored in the heart.  I huffed on the words and then stamped them.  The heart was not as dark as I wanted it so I colored it in a little with the drawing tip of the marker.  For me, adding color this way is a lot quicker than using a marker on the whole piece.  Plus it keeps your markers from getting wore down too!

A For the New Two Wedding Card

I borrowed my sister's "For the New Two" stamp set.  I had stamped a few images from the set the last time we were together stamping but I had misplaced them.  I did find them.  Believe it or not, I had actually put them away, in a place where I would remember where they were!!!  Right!!! That doesn't work anymore.  If I don't write it down or don't put it away, I won't remember!!!  UGH!

Anyway, I had borrowed her set and I thought I would play with it tonight.  I think I'm going to have to give her set back. I don't feel very creative with it. I do not like how this card turned out at all.  It needs a LOT of help!!!  What I was going for here was the words on the paper doily and from there I didn't have any plans.  It's SO obvious by the way the card turned out.  UGH!!  As in UGH-LY!  LOL  I don't have a clue as to how to even improve it!  So it will be put in my stash and maybe used for one of those weddings of a very distant relative that I have never met or met when I was a kid!!! LOL  Or not at all!

I never promised you that all of my cards would be winners!  I share the good, the bad, and obviously the ugly!!!  LOL

Thank you for hanging in there today,
Wanda

A Wild About Flowers and Wetlands Birthday Card

Today I have another card for you from Terri's most wonderful Stamp a Stack.  This is such an elegant card.  I try to put the cards I make in order of my favorite and I find that extremely difficult to do because Terri always has such wonderful and fun cards for us to make.  I love the simplicity of the layout on this card yet it has a lot of movement to it.

We used the English Garden Designer on the Mossy Meadow Banner piece.  I got to play with the new Triple Banner punch.  I LOVE it.  You can make 3 different size banners that all layer nicely on top of each other.

The "Wild About Flowers"set was used to make the stems and the flowers were punched using the "Itty Bitty Accents" punch. They were set in place with glue dots and a tiny pearl was added to the center of each one.

The layered circle with the flowers on it was set in place using Dimensionals.

I stamped the words on using the "Wetlands" set.  As simple as that.  And A quick card too.  This would be a great layout for a swap because you can whip up a bunch of these in no time!

The Wilderness Awaits Technique Card

Tuesday evening Terri held her Technique night for her downline.  I was able to participate in the swap that night and this is one of the cards I received.  It's done using the Camouflage technique that was taught the previous month.  It's a fun technique and the instructions for it can be found here.

The set used here is "The Wilderness Awaits".  I want this set!!! It's on my wishlist!!!  I tend to purchase the masculine sets because there's not very many of them!!

This was a fun swap and I have a few more cards to share with you later.  I have other cards that I've been working on so I'll fill in with the swap cards as the days go by.

A Happy Birthday, Everyone, Crazy about You, Petite Petals and Flower Shop Birthday Card

I don't know why I don't use the Bermuda Bay color more.  It's such a beautiful blue!!! I was playing around with some scrap pieces of Bermuda Bay decorative paper and one thing lead to another and the next thing I knew I was layering them with Basic Gray card stock.  SO I had these two layerd strips waiting for an idea to come.  I was looking at my worktable and there were the "happy Birthday" words stamped on a scrap piece of Whisper White card stock.  It was stamped crooked so I got another piece of card stock and stamped it straight.  I like how large the words were.  Now I had 3 panels!!

I had seen a card that had 3 flowers layered.  I didn't have the base flower so I took the flower from the "Crazy about You" set and stamped it using Bermuda Bay ink.  I decided to go with that flower mostly because it had a punch!  I wasn't in the mood to fussy cut today! I used the "Flower Shop" set for the second flower and the "Petite Petals" for the smaller flower in the center.  I set that smaller flower in place using Dimensionals. and  added a crystal rhinestone to the center.  I did color the top two flowers in using a blender pen and the Bermuda Bay ink pad.

I added a dotted textured background that was layered with Basic Gray and set on the Bermuda Bay card base.  I do like how this card turned out and it's a whole lot prettier in person!

This was a simple card to make.  Layering does take a little time, but it's SO worth it!!!

A Watercolor Words Birthday Card Stamp a Stack

Today I'm going to share with you a card I made at Terri's Stamp a Stack last week.  Actually, it's 3 cards.  We used the "English Garden" decorative papers and the "Watercolor Words".  I think I'm going to have to put that set on my wishlist.  I LOVE the large lettering.

The base of our card is Whisper White.  We layered the papers and the word panel using Soft Suede.  The butterfly was punched out and 3 little pearls were added down the center of the butterfly.

This was a super fun and quick card to make.  I just LOVE that "English Garden" decorative paper.  I need to use it more, my goal is to use it up.  I think it will be an easy task.  I hate it when I hoard my decorative papers.  I hoard them and then they retire. So in the next few weeks, I will make an effort to use the pack!!!

I had a great time at the Stamp a Stack and I LOVED all the cards that I made!!!

A You've Got This Wetlands Birthday Card

It just dawned on me that I don't emboss very much at all anymore.  I don't know why, I like doing it and I like the looks of it when it's done.  I guess I just have too many other things I like doing better.  Or it could be that there are only certain things that look nice embossed???  I don't know but for today I do know that I like embossing this flower in gold and I like how it turned out against the Basic Black background!  I  used my VersaMark pad and stamped the image on the card stock.  Then I sprinkled the gold embossing powder.  I heated the powder from the back side of the image.  I have found that I tend to blow off too much of the powder when I emboss from the front.  Once it's melted enough, I will come in the front and finish the melting of it.

I used Crushed Curry Designer Series Paper Stack (12" x 12") and Crushed Curry card stock for the round scallop layering the words.  The words are from the "Wetlands" set and were stamped with the black Memento ink pad.  That pad ranks right up there with the black StazOn, except this ink washes off the rubber nicely!

I set the flower layered panel and the word layered scallop in place on the card using Dimensionals.  It gave the simple looking card some depth.

I do like how this card turned out and I do like how simple it was to make.

A Guy Greetings Masculine Birthday Card

I wasn't going for a Patriotic look but I got it with this card.  I had a piece of Night of Navy decorative paper cut and I thought I would use it before it got damaged.  I had stamped the car from the "Guy Greetings" set using the black Memento ink.  The words were then stamped using Cherry Cobbler.  With that being said, I had to use Cherry Cobbler card stock to match the words! Hence the Red, White and Blue card!!!  It would be an ideal card if someone needed a masculine birthday card on the 4th of July!!!

This was a fun card to make.  I put Dimensionals on the car panel and the bottom word panel.  I also added 3 Candy Dots to the bottom of the car panel to break up the flow of the card.

This was a super simple and quick card to make!!

Thank you every SO much for visiting today,

A Watercolor Wash Background Birthday

I do like this new Mint Macaron color but I really think it looks a lot like the old Sage Shadow color that Stampin' Up! use to sell. I may have to just hang onto those old colors to see which ones come back!!!!

This is one of the cards that I made at Terri's super fun and always FABULOUS Stamp a Stacks.  The background image was stamped using Mint Macaron ink and the Watercolor Wash background stamp.  I tried that stamp a few weeks ago and did not like it as well as I liked the background stamp that came with the "You've Got This" set.  I like it but not as well.

Then we taped the doily in place.  Next we stamped the words we wanted to use.  I made my card into a birthday card and I'm sorry, but I don't know what set those words came from.  Then they were punched out using the 2-1/2" circle punch.  Then the flower was punched out using the in colors decorative paper pack.  A small flower was punched out and the petals were clipped.  Yup, every petal!!  That was set in place using a Dimensional.  A pearl was added to the center and that was it.  Super easy and super quick too!! Oh and don't forget, super cute!!!

The Wilderness Awaits Masculine Card

Today I am going to share with you a card I made at Terri's FABULOUS Stamp A Stack last night.  I had such a great time making cards with such great people!!!

This was a fun card to make.  It's almost impossible to see here but this is just a 1/4 sheet of card stock for the base of the card.  The "Hardwood" background image/piece is a 7-1/2" piece of Tip Top Taupe card stock folded in half. Inside that is where you'd write your sentiment.

The tag with the dog image is taped on top of the hardwood image.  A piece of black stitched ribbon was tied onto the tag before it was set in place.

This was such a fun card to make and very easy too!  It's a great masculine card that can be used for several masculine occasions!!!

Elephant Fry Box Party Favor Skipping Stone Designs

Summer is time for those movies in the park, a backyard movie or just something fun for your family reunion.  Today I have for you a sneak peek of the fry box I made using the fun Elephant stamp by Stepping Stone Designs.  You can see the whole card here.

You can get a free fry box template here.  Just put your favorite card stock in your printer (if it can handle thicker paper) and print it out.  Or you can print it out on copier paper and use it as a pattern.

Before I put my box together I pierced some holes along the tops of the back and front of the box.  I sewed (with a needle!!!) some Baker's Twine through the holes.  On the back piece I tied a bow. It's a bit difficult to see because of the peanuts.  I did glue the fry box together.  I find that glue holds a lot better than tape.

I stamped the elephant on gray polka dot decorative paper and fussy cut him out!  I used a gel pen to color in the toes, tusks, and ears.  I colored the ears in so I could take a pink marker and color them in.

I punched out a scalloped circle and attached it to the fry box.  I used glue because of the arch of the box I didn't think tape would hold.  And I also glued the elephant.

These fry boxes go together quickly so if you need to make a lot you can mass produce them in a few hours. I would recommend you cut and glue the fry boxes and set them aside to set up.  I don't recommend gluing on the scalloped circle because of the arch of the box may cause the circle to bend, pinch or fold.

A Wild about Flowers and Wetlands Birthday Card

I have played with this layout earlier this year and I recall liking how the card turned out.  I think I had used the "Lotus Blossom" stamp that was from the Sale A Brations catalog.

Today I thought I would play with the "Wild about Flowers" set and this layout came to mind.

I used Melon Mambo for my color.  I also used the Melon Mambo decorative paper.  The back of the polka dotted piece has the words.  Funny thing here, the piece that the words are on is a scrap piece from the dotted piece!!!  Glad I didn't have to through it away.  Okay, I did toss it in the recycling basket but after realizing where I was going with the layout, I went dumpster diving and got it out!!!  LOL  I don't mind "dumpster diving" in the recycling paper waste basket!!! There's never anything icky in it!!! LOL

The words are from the "Wetlands" set.  I like using that set for the words because they fit so nicely in the oval punch..

The flower was stamped using Melon Mambo and the stem part is Pear Pizzazz.  There's not a lot of stamping to do on this card, even though it looks like there's a lot to it.  A few layers but it's SO worth it!

I had fun making this  card and I like the layout.  I will probably use it again sometime!  Maybe with a masculine card. Now that would be a challenge for me. Maybe later in the week!

A Butterfly Framelit and Wetlands Birthday Card

I have been having a lot of fun with the Butterfly Framelit dies.  If you use waxed paper between the card stock and the die it comes out of the die easier.  I love the magnetic platform but with my butterfly I find it cuts cleaner using the regular platform. Maybe my magnetic one is warped now or maybe it's just they way I have to cut mine.  It doesn't matter, as long as I get a clean cut!!

I cut my butterfly out of Melon Mambo card stock. I set it place using Dimensionals.  I also added some pearls down the middle to dress it up just a little.  I used the new Sweet Lil Things Washi tape.  I though it would be a fun thing to add to the card instead of decorative paper.

The words are from the "Wetlands" set and it was actually the only stamping that was done on this card.  It's a super simple and super quick card to make.  And that was it!!!

A You've Got This Wetlands Birthday card

I'm not so thrilled with the colors I chose today but it is what it is!!!  I have a fun thing to share with you when it comes to coloring on top of the background.

First I stamped the background in Daffodil Delight.  Then I stamped the flower using black Memento ink.  Then I stamped the flower on the decorative paper and cut the flower part out only, not the stem.  I colored the center of the flower with the Daffodil Delight ink pen.

Then I colored in the stem with the white chalk marker.  Once I had it all colored in (avoiding the black lines), then I colored in the stem with the Pear Pizzazz. It colored in nicely and you can't see the yellow behind it.

The flower is from the "You've Got This" set and the words are from the "Wetlands" set.

This was a fun card, other than the colors!!

A Guy Greetings Masculine Card

Today I have a sightly modified card I made that I had found at Stampin' BJ  by BJ Peters.  I liked the look of her card but I didn't have all of the same supplies.  SO I made do with what I had.  I wish I wouldn't have taken the photo on a black background but other than that, I'm happy with how it turned out.  I SO love that antique car!!

The base of my card is Whisper White, with a textured layer of Basic Black.  The decorative paper is from the "Petite Petals" Designer Series stack.  I LOVE those stacks.  There's lots of papers to have fun with in them, oh and they are double sided. That means twice the fun!!!  LOL

The words come with the "Guy Greetings" set.  Such a deal!  That set has a LOT of wording in it, SO worth purchasing!!

This was a fun card to make.  It was quick and easy too!  Oh and I got to use the new ribbon punch.  It punches 3 sizes too!!!  That was the reason I really had to have that punch!

A Happy Birthday, Everyone and Flower Shop Birthday Card

I wanted to play with my new "Happy Birthday, Everyone" stamp set.  I didn't want to make those super large "Happy Birthday" words be the focal point of my card but I just couldn't get around it tonight.  It's not that I don't like how it looks, I just wanted something else to be in the card that the eye would be attracted to or be the larger part.  But this is what I ended up with.  Oh and that doesn't mean I'm not done trying!!! LOL

I used the new Watermelon Wonder ink and decorative paper on this card.  I layered the tow panels using Basic Black card stock and the base of the card is in Basic Black as well.

This was a super easy card to make and with the words being so large, there wasn't a whole lot more you could put on the card without it looking crowded.  But I'm going to give that a try too!!! LOL

Skipping Stone Design Christmas Card Sneak Peek

Add a little glitz, add a little glamour!  I stamped the Christmas label using VersaMark and then I embossed it in gold. I added a brushed gold layer of card stock behind it.

I used a muted dark mustard for the base of my card.  On top of that I added a 5-1/4″ x 4″ piece of brushed gold card stock.I dug out my Wilton paper doilies and attached it to the center of the brushed gold piece.  I also punched a 2-1/8″ circle of the brushed gold.  I found a fun piece of decorative paper in the “Christmas & Winter stack by DCWV.  I centered the circles on the doily.  Next I took some gold cord and wound it 3 times around my fingers to form a messy circle. I taped it together at the bottom using regular clear tape.  I did pull the circles out a bit so they looked even messier.  I taped it in place about 1/3rd up from the bottom of the circle.

Next I added my greetings image.  I was kind of stuck on what to do with the card next.  It still needed something.  Well, I get this bright idea to add some brads.  Oh but I got the idea after (yes, after) I had attached the brushed gold layer.  Now had I taped the layer I wouldn’t be whining here!!!  LOL  No, no tape, I used glue!  Yes, my friends, I used glue.  I find that tape does not stick as well to the brushed gold card stock, plus I had this little bulge from the gold cord that I needed to stick the layer to also.  SO glue was the way to go. Now, perhaps if this brad idea had come to me before the glue or even just after gluing, it would have made adding them much easier.  So what did I do, you ask?  LOL  Well, I got out an old pair of scissors and I cut the prongs down and folded them to the inside of the brad using a wooden chop stick.  I set them in place using glue dots.  I did the same thing with the larger brad on the top part of the card.  And as you can see, the brad problem was resolved!!!

This was a very fun card to make and it’s got such a festive look!

The Wilderness Awaits Masculine Card and Camouflage Technique

On the 18th I will be attending a card swap.  The card for the swap is to be done using the technique learned from the prior month.  We learned the Camouflage Technique last time.  You can find the instructions for that technique here.

Now my camouflage strip looks REALLY crooked in the photo.  It is crooked but not as bad as the photo makes it look!

This card is from the bottom of my stack, only to be swapped if absolutely needed.

For my card I used the duck and I colored in some areas using markers, nothing more!  This was a fun and simple card to make too!

The camouflage technique is fun, a little messy but SO cool!

The Wilderness Awaits Masculine Birthday Card

The "Wilderness Awaits" set is such a great set with many images to make those illusive masculine cards. I tend to hang onto these types of stamp sets because you can't seem to have enough sets to make masculine cards.

This is a very easy and quick card to make.  The base of the card is folded half sheet of Early Espresso.  On top of that I added a piece of Pear Pizzazz decorative paper.  I cut it to 4" x 5-1/2".  I added a 1-1/4" strip of Pear Pizzazz card stock that has an Early Espresso layer behind it.

I colored the duck in a little.  Just enough to add some highlights without losing all those fun details.  The words are from my computer.  I print out a sheet of them and punch them out as I need them.  It makes for putting together a quick card when you need one!

A Flower Shop and Summer Silhouettes Birthday Card

I think the "Flower Shop" stamp set is one of my favorites.  Well, it is today anyway!!

For today's card I used Basic Black for the base of the card.  I used the Watermelon Wonder decorative paper, card stock and ink.

The leaves are from the "Summer Silhouettes" set and I stamped them using Pear Pizzazz.

The center of the flower was stamped using Daffodil Delight.

The flower was set in place using Dimensionals.

The words were done on my computer and after layering them I set them in place on the card with Dimensionals.

This was a super quick and easy card to make.  Very little stamping.  Punches were used on the flower and the flower center.  No fussy cutting!!!

A Guy Greetings Masculine Birthday Card

I was going through some card ideas that I had saved to my computer and I found this gem.  I liked it because it's one of those "Clean and Simple" cards.  Plus it's also a quick and easy card too!!!

I found  it on "Stamping With Lynn".  There was something about it that drew my to it.  Perhaps the clean look.  When I first started making cards, it seemed that all of my cards had the clean and simple look.  Then I started doing the Split Coast Stampers Wednesday challenge and I fell in love with layers. LOTS of layers!!!  Sometimes it's nice to just go back to simple.

This is a very easy card to make.  I just stamped the images and punched them out with the 1-3/8" square punch.  The reason the corners were clipped a little was because as I was starting to put the card together I noticed that I had caught the edge of the paper with the punch.  I must have stamped too close.  I didn't catch it right away because it was so small.  But just as I was taping it, I saw it.  I didn't want to stamp everything again so I just clipped the opposite corner.  That was fine until I realized on the car I clipped the next corner, not the opposite one!  UGH!!!  So all four corners had to be clipped.  Problem solved and no paper wasted!!!

The words come with the set.  And below the words I added 3 Candy Dots.  And that's it.  I told you it was easy.

A You've Got This Birthday Card

Today I thought I would make a quick and simple card using the "You've Got This" stamp set and a blender pen!!!  I had just refilled my blender pen and it's nice and juicy, just how I LOVE working with them.  I find it extremely difficult to work with a dryer blender pen.  You can find the recipe for the pen here.   And there are instructions here on how to take your blender pen apart to refill it.  You can find those instructions here.

For my card I used Calypso Coral.  First I colored in the center of my flower with just the Daffodil Delight marker.  Then I colored in the flower using my blender pen.  I scribbled my pen on one of my clear blocks and picked the ink up with my blender pen.  I did the same for the leaves.  I colored them using Pear Pizzazz.  And I took some Smoky Slate and went around the whole flower to make it look a little more 3-D.

The words are from the "Wetlands" set and I added them to the card using Dimensionals. And that's all there was to this card.  Oh, except for the fun decorative paper.  I bought a stack.  I did have to cut 2 pieces because I wanted the words to be on the bottom and the opposite side of the words was the dots!  So now I'll have to come up with another card with the words on the top (some other day!).  So if you're looking for a quick and easy card to make, this is it!!

An English Garden Notebook Weekend Project

I was in need of a notebook and with the stuff I have in my workroom, I just hate the thought of purchasing one.  So I got out my "stuff" and began making one.

First I cut my inside paper.  I have some paper that was used in the old dot matrix printers.  I cut away the edges and used what is left.  I cut my inside pieces 5-1/2" x 4-1/4".  That way I not only have a nice size notebook but I can also use a card front if I have one or I can just make a new one!  Here I used the "English Garden" decorative paper.  I layered it with Soft Suede, Delightful Dijon, and Mossy Meadow.

The words are from a stamp I had made for me MANY years ago.  I have used it SO much and I think it will last a lifetime!!!  I hope it will anyway, I do make a lot of notebooks.  Especially mini ones that I sell at craft fairs.  I'll be making some up in the next few weeks and I'll be sharing them with you on here.

Oh, I almost forgot.  For the holes, I used the Rubi Coil machine.  It's a 4:1 machine.  That means it punches 4 holes per inch.  You need to purchase coils that are 4:1 too or you won't be able to bind your notebooks. I punch the holes in my paper and then I take the front and back of my notebook and punch them together. For the back of my notebook I used a piece of shirt board (cereal box thickness) that is white on one side.  I like the white side on the outside.  It gives the notebook a more clean and professional look.  I just remembered, I need to make a notebook for a friend so I will be making another notebook with in the next few weeks.

These are fun to make though I do with I could just punch up a bunch of the inside paper and have it ready for me so I can make notebooks quicker!!!  I always tell myself that I should just cut and punch a few pages a day and when I'm ready I can just put notebooks together.  That last for about one time!!! LOL  Well, that's about it for this post!  Happy Stamping to you!

My card today is just a simple 3 snowflake card.  I used a piece of decorative paper from the Recollections"Jolly Holiday" paper stack.  I stamped and punched out 3 snowflakes and set them in place using a double sided foam piece.  I added rhinestones to give the snowflake a little sparkle.  I stamped the words on and added colored rhinestones to make the image pop more.  This is a very fun set to play with.  Below is a picture of all the images in the set.

A Garden in Bloom Wetlands Birthday Card

I found a fun card made by Andrea at Snippets.  I thought it was such a fun and cheery looking card that I had to make one. I did place my flowers a little differently than Andrea did.  I loved the colors she used too.

So let's begin.  The base of the card is Soft Suede. The next layer is Pear Pizzazz. Then I added my stamped Whisper White piece.

I changed the colors a bit.  I stamped the outline and the center of the flowers using Soft Suede ink. The petals are stamped using Crushed Curry. The highlights on the flower are stamped using Delightful Dijon.  The stems and the outlines of the leaves are stamped using Mossy Meadow and the inside of the leaves are stamped with Pear Pizzazz.

The words came from the "Wetlands" set and were stamped using Soft Suede.  And that was it. It's such a quick and simple card to make.  The "Garden in Bloom" is a very fun set to play with!  There's still some stamps in the set I have not played with yet but am eyeing them as I type!!!  (hence any typos!! LOL)
