I found this fun card made by Teneale at Teneale Williams blog. Please go there and look at her card, it's much nicer than mine. I originally had Soft Sky for the sponged on center of the card and for the base of the card BUT..... I went to re-ink my pad and I used Lost Lagoon inker. GRRR. But all was not lost, I ran the ink pad under water until it ran clear and I took a bunch of paper towels and dried off the pad. I went to re-ink it with Soft Sky and low and behold, I didn't have any. I think that is SO odd because I'm usually SO good about getting the inker when I buy the pad. I don't recall using the last of it and usually when I do I order a new one. I spent a little time looking for the ink bottle but had no luck so I just changed colors.
For my card here I used Pool Party for the base of the card and for the sponging of the ink in the center. Then I stamped the sunburst image using Lost Lagoon. (See, that's where the Lost Lagoon ink came to mind for the Soft Sky pad!). I had already cut out the words using the "Hello You" Thinlits Die.
The background paper is from the "Irresistibly You" decorative paper pack. This paper has the images already on it. It's like they are embossed with clear embossing powder. You just ink it up and the images magically appear!!!
I used the star border punch and punched out some Silver Glimmer Paper. I glued the stars on. Then I remembered I needed to make room for the work "Birthday". So I picked off a couple of stars and stamped the word using black StazOn. You really do need to use StazOn here because of the stars in the background. Other inks will bead up and you won't be able to see the entire word clearly.
I glued the "Happy" on and added a few more stars. I taped the layers together and it was done. Teneale used some balloons on her card. I didn't have those so I tilted my words a little more so they took up some space and just left it as it is. I do like how it turned out and if you don't go to Teneale's page you will think my card is very cool!!! LOL
Thank you SO much for visiting today,
