A Kinda Eclectic Flower Shop Petite Petals Birthday Card

WOW, that title was a mouthful!!!  I was trying to catch all of the main stamp sets that were used to make this card.  I did miss the "Petite Pairs" for the words.  Oh and about those words.  I meant to stamp them using Memento ink and I grabbed the Memories ink pad that I had.  Apparently just because the Memories set started with M I just assumed it was the one I wanted.  The ink is more bluish than black.  I do LOVE the Memento ink pad.  The black is a very rich crisp black and it dries a whole lot faster than the Basic Black pad.  And it doesn't stain the image as much as the black StazOn does.  It's my ink pad of choice!!

So now that we got that out of the way, lets talk about my card!!! I used the "Kinda Eclectic" sun burst on the background.  I stamped it using Daffodil Delight.  Then I took the leaf image from that same set and stamped it using Pear Pizzazz.  On a piece of scrap card stock I stamped the flower from "Flower Shop" using Melon Mambo ink.  The tiny flower in the center is from the "Petite Petals" set and it was stamped using Daffodil Delight.  Those two pieces were punched out, taped together, and then set in place using Dimensionals.  A Tempting Turquoise Candy Dot was set in the center of the flower.  The butterfly is from the "Papillion Potpourri" set and stamped using Tempting Turquoise ink. The base of the card is Tempting Turquoise.

This was a very simple card to make and it can be used for several other occasions as well!

A Kinda Eclectic and Crazy about You Birthday Card

I found this fun card made by Teneale at Teneale Williams blog.  Please go there and look at her card, it's much nicer than mine.  I originally had Soft Sky for the sponged on center of the card and for the base of the card BUT..... I went to re-ink my pad and I used Lost Lagoon inker. GRRR.  But all was not lost, I ran the ink pad under water until it ran clear and I took a bunch of paper towels and dried off the pad.  I went to re-ink it with Soft Sky and low and behold, I didn't have any.  I think that is SO odd because I'm usually SO good about getting the inker when I buy the pad.  I don't recall using the last of it and usually when I do I order a new one.  I spent a little time looking for the ink bottle but had no luck so I just changed colors.

For my card here I used Pool Party for the base of the card and for the sponging of the ink in the center.  Then I stamped the sunburst image using Lost Lagoon.  (See, that's where the Lost Lagoon ink came to mind for the Soft Sky pad!).  I had already cut out the words using the "Hello You" Thinlits Die.

The background paper is from the "Irresistibly You" decorative paper pack. This paper has the images already on it. It's like they are embossed with clear embossing powder.  You just ink it up and the images magically appear!!!

I used the star border punch and punched out some Silver Glimmer Paper.  I glued the stars on.  Then I remembered I needed to make room for the work "Birthday".  So I picked off a couple of stars and stamped the word using black StazOn.  You really do need to use StazOn here because of the stars in the background.  Other inks will bead up and you won't be able to see the entire word clearly.

I glued the "Happy" on and added a few more stars.  I taped the layers together and it was done.  Teneale used some balloons on her card.  I didn't have those so I tilted my words a little more so they took up some space and just left it as it is. I do like how it turned out and if you don't go to Teneale's page you will think my card is very cool!!! LOL

A Butterfly Thinlits Birthday Card

I am having a lot of fun with these Thinlits now that I know to use waxed paper between the metal and the card stock.  It makes removing the paper SO much easier.

I used Hello Hone for the base of my card.  The layer is Baked Brown Sugar.

The decorative paper is from the "Lullaby" pack.  The butterfly is Tempting Turquoise.

The scalloped circle is Crisp Cantaloupe with a 1-3/8" circle of Baked Brown Sugar.  The words were done on my computer.

I had a scrap of the striped paper from the "Lullaby" pack that I just wanted to get rid of.  I think it worked well on the center of this card.

The butterfly and the word piece were set in place using Dimensionals.  Everything else was just taped in place.

I added some pearls down the center of the butterfly and I added one on the corner of the striped piece.  And that was it.  Super easy and very quick to make!

A Sheltering Tree Thank You Card

I just couldn't wait to make the cherry blossom looking tree using the "Sheltering Tree" stamp set.  I wanted to make it before the summer sneaks upon me and my trees should be green!!!  Not that I can't make a spring like tree anytime of the year but it just somehow doesn't fit in at Christmas time!!! LOL

This is another quick and simple card to make.  I stamped the tree using Early Espresso.  The leaves on the tree are Pirouette Pink with some Strawberry Slush tapped on directly from the pad.  The little flowers at the bottom are done in Strawberry Slush but stamped off.

The grass was done using Pear Pizzazz.  And finally, the words are done using Early Espresso.

This is a super easy card to make and can be used for several other occasions as well!

A Sheltering Tree Birthday Card

I got this set about a month ago but have not used it yet.  I don't know why, there's so many pretty cards made using it.  I thought I would make a spring looking card.  The trees here are getting greener and greener and those beautiful lime green colors are darkening each day.  I still want to make one with the cherry blossoms on it.  I may give that one a try tomorrow. We're suppose to get rain so it may be an indoors day!!!  I like those kinds of days.

For my card here I sponged in Tempting Turquoise for the sky.  For the foreground I sponged in some Pearl Pizzazz.  I also used Pear Pizzazz on the stamped grass/ground image.

The tree was stamped using Early Espresso.  The leaves were stamped using Pear Pizzazz and some Garden Green tapped on using the ink pad.  The swing was stamped using Early Espresso.

The words are from the "Hey You" set and stamped using Early Espresso.  And that was it.  Very simple and super quick!!!  I think my next card will have the tree moved down a lot more so 1/3 of the card is not an open grassy area!  Unless you can find bigger words for that space.  It's just too open.  But looking beyond that, the tree turned out pretty and I love that little swing.

This would be a great masculine card too!  It also looks like it could be used as a sympathy card as well.

A Flower Shop Tri-Fold Window Card

Today I am going to share a card with you that Mary had made for the swap at Terri's Technique Tuesday for her downline.

This technique is called the "Tri-fold Window".  It's a lot easier to do than it looks.

I think it was SO sweet of Mary to share with me one of her swaps.  I wasn't able to participate in the swap this month because I just had too much going on and adding one more thing to my ever-growing list was not in the picture.

If you'd like to learn more about this technique you can click here.  It will take you to my earlier post on this technique.

I can actually tell you what sets were used here because I own both of them.  The leaves are from the "Kinda Eclectic" set and the flower are from the "Flower Shop" set!!  Like I said, these are a lot easier than they look!  Give it a try!!

Thank you SO much for visiting today,

Graduation, Wedding, Shower Party Favors

Last night at Terri's very fun Technique Tuesday for her downline, they got to make this fun party favor.

This one was actually made into a card.  I should have taken the photo at an angle so you can see that the part where the ribbon is tied is actually a "box" where you slide in 3 Hershey Nuggets.  I did not come up with this idea, I found it online.  I had made one before and I actually taught the group how to do this.  It was fun teaching there.  I had not done that in a VERY long time.

I do not know the name of the stamp set that was used here.  That usually means that I don't own it.  I would like to own it but I saw the new catalog and there's too many things in it that I want, so I will not be getting this set.

Anyway, if you'd like to learn how to make theses fun party favors you can find at link to it on my first posting of this project.

These would make very fun and adorable thank you's for a graduation party, wedding, a baby shower, and a wedding shower.  Plus they make a nice card that an be used as a birthday (as shown), a get well gesture or even just a thinking of you card.  And surprisingly so, they don't take long to make at all!!!  Give one a try and you'll be making more!!!

Thank you SO much for visiting today and have fun with these!

A Kinda Eclectic and Thinlits Butterfly Birthday

I just got this fun "Kinda Eclectic" stamp set and I thought I would play with it.  I bought it mostly because of the sun spray image but do you see that here??  LOL  I still had my Thinlits Butterfly dies out and I thought it would be fun to make a butterfly with something fun in the background.

These leaves seemed to be the perfect thing.  I was leaning more towards flowers but these leaves caught my eye.  I used Mossy Meadow to stamp the leaves.  I stamped the center one first and then I stamped off on the other two.  To hide where the three end stems meet, I stamped the leaves on some scrap card stock and cut one out.  I taped it in place and viola, the stems were covered and the leaf looks like it's part of the image.

The butterfly was cut using Lost Lagoon card stock.

The words are from the "Wetlands" set and they were stamped using black Memento ink.

I added some pearls down the center of the butterfly to give it a bit of a punch.  It's pretty alone, but it needed something.

This was a super quick and easy card to make!!!  As I look at it here, I'm thinking it would make a nice sympathy or get well card too.

A Flower Shop, Wetlands, Crazy about You Birthday Card

I don't make too many landscape cards, most of mine are portrait.  I don't know why I do that, I guess my mind must be set on cards opening from the right to the left and having the fold on the left. Though I could make landscape cards open that way too!!!  I don't know why I do the things I do. No one knows!!!  LOL

Today I wanted to play with some scraps of decorative paper and they happened to be from the "Moonlight" paper pack.  It's still almost a full pack of paper.  UGH!!!

This paper happens to coordinate with the newest in colors too.  SO my flowers using the "Flower Shop" set are done in those colors.  I used Hello Honey and Tangelo Twist for the flowers.  The leaves are from the "Crazy about You" set and I stamped them using the Mossy Meadow pad.  It looks more like a very dark Old Olive. And the words are stamped using black Memento ink and the "Wetlands" set.  I taped the flowers to the word panel and then set that in place using Dimensionals.  I added some large half round pearls to the center of each flower to complete the card.

This was a fun card to make.  I like the colors, though they are a bit fall looking.  I am still wanting to make the soft pastel spring colored things.  But the decorative paper was the color factor here!!

A Work of Art, Wetlands Butterfly Birthday Card

I thought I would play with a color today. I chose Crisp Cantaloupe, mostly because it's retiring and I have quite a bit left. I found this fun card at Sandi Stamps.  What caught my interest was the honeycomb die.  It took me a bit to figure out which part of the piece I needed to clip.  You not only clipped but you cut off parts too!  After I figured it out, I glued it in place.

I stamped the Crisp Cantaloupe image from "A Work of Art".  I stamped the words using the "Wetlands" set.

Next I punched out 3 butterflies using the Lullaby decorative paper.  I sponged the edges with Crisp Cantaloupe.  I set them in place with Dimensional pieces and I added pearls down the center of each one.

This was a super quick card to make and fun too!! I like how it turned out.  I'm still in awe of that honeycomb background!  And I used waxed paper on top of my card stock before cutting it out and it came out of the die with no effort at all!!!  Ya gotta LOVE that!  Be sure to check out Sandi's card, mine is a little different than hers.

Crazy about You, Hello You Thinlits Father's Day Masculine Card

I had totally forgotten about this fun paper pack ("Adventure Abound") until I saw a card on the KathleenStamps blog.  She had made a card using those papers and I ran and grabbed my pack!!  I have hardly used any of it and it's retiring at the end of the month. I had bought 3 different paper packs when the catalog came out last year.  I'm going to be scaling it down to two packs this year.  I hate it when I have a lot of retired stuff left over.  Anyway, Kathleen's card was abirthday card but I thought this would be fun as a Father's Day card, since Father's Day is just around the corner.

I used the "Crazy about You" set for the "Father's Day" words.  The "happy" is from the  "Hello You" thinlits. I had gotten out the "Crazy about You" set and was on the hunt for some fun flowery card to make and I ran across this card and I just had to make it.  I will make a flower card some other time!!!  Oh, and get this, there was only one stamp involved in making this!!!  How fun is that??

I used Crumb Cake for the base of the card.  Then a layer of Early Espresso with Very Vanilla on top. The printed piece was layered with Early Espresso.   The words are actually in black.  I would have done them in Early Espresso except I had one laying on my counter so I thought I should use it before it gets damaged.  When you go through the effort to get out the magnetic platform and waxed paper, you might as well use these before they are ruined.  It looks just fine with black and I don't think there'd be too many dads out there who would complain!!!

This was such a super easy card to make.  Next time I need to use the "happy" I think I'm going to cut it out in other colors, just to have them on hand.   It helps when you need to make a quick card!!!

A Petite Petals and Crazy about You Birthday Card

I found a card similar to this while I was surfing the net for a masculine type card.  Does this look masculine to you?  Me either!!! I'm easily distracted by colorful flowers!!! LOL

The original card was made by Lisa at "I'm in Heaven".  I just loved the color of the flowers so I got out my Stampin' Up! products that closely resembled the ones that Lisa used and this is what I ended up with.  I do love how colorful it is, though I would like the flowers to be a little closer together.  I probably could have achieved it by adding one more flower.  But I didn't notice it until after I already stuck the flowers in place.  My flowers are a bit smaller than on the original card plus my card is a regular size card where the original card is not quite as tall.  Keeping mine a full size card I was able to use the "happy" from the "Hello You" Thinlits.  The "Birthday" is from the "Crazy about You" set and the flowers are from the "Petite Petals" set.  I set the flowers in place with Dimensionals and I added the "Candy Dots" to the center of each flower.

The colors of ink I used here are Memento Black, Strawberry Slush, Calypso Coral, Daffodil Delight, Pistachio Pudding, Coastal Cabana.

I am happy with the way this card turned out.  I like how colorful it is!

The Open Sea Father's Day Card

Now that Mother's Day has passed, it's time to work on Father's Day cards.  This card is based on a card made by Darlene Stamps at Split Coast Stampers.  I did change it a bit.  I started to make the lines on my score board but it got messed up so I just gave up.  I stamped the background instead.  It still has a nice effect, plus I got to use another stamp from that set!!!  One that I don't get to use too often.  I used hemp twine for the knots. I also taped them to the back.  I taped them well too, I didn't want them coming loose.  That front panel was set in place using Dimensionals.

The focal panel was cut 2-3/8" x 3-3/8".  The Early Espresso layer was cut 1/8" larger.  The stamped background Crumb Cake layer was cut 5-1/8" x 3-3/8".  The Early Espresso layer behind that was cut at 5-1/4" x 4".  The layers were set in place on a folded half sheet of Whisper White card stock.

I used a blender pen and Pacific Point to add the water below the ship.

I just realized I had not added the brads to my card.  I added candy dots (after I realized I forgot the brads) instead.  I will take a photo of it tomorrow and show you.  It does make a BIG difference!!!

This was a very easy and fun card to make.  Plus it's a great masculine card.  Wouldn't it make a great masculine birthday card too?

Quarter Fold Technique Card

Today I'm going to share a card with you from Terri's Technique Night for her downline.   This card was made by Shelly.  I don't know what stamp set was used here.  I will look it up later and update my post.  It's obvious that I do not own this stamp set or I would be able to tell you what the name of it is.

These box cards are very fun and easy to make too.  The instructions can be found here.

You can stamp on the inside.  You can even make a pocket to add a gift card or money.  These have lots of possibilities.

A Butterfly Framelit Mother's Day Card

I have another Mother's Day card to share with you.  If you haven't made your mom a card, you don't have much time left to get it done!  So that means you will need a quick card. Today's card is very quick to do.

The decorative paper is from the Lullaby pack.  I used Tempting Turquoise as a contrasting color.

The butterfly is from the Butterfly Framelit set.  Every since I found out to use waxed paper on these types of dies, I am just LOVIN' them!!!  I have cut out lots of butterflies.  It's so easy and quick.  Just remember to not let too many layers of waxed paper get built up in the die.  I wasn't paying attention and the next thing I knew, some of the spaces weren't cutting out all the way.  I thought maybe I wrecked my platform or even the die.  But no, it was just full of waxed paper.  Once I removed the layers of waxed paper, it cut clearly again.  I did save those layers of waxed paper.  They were smashed to hard together that they came out as one very thick piece.  I'm going to use it on a card sometime!!! Nothing goes to waste here!!!

I did have a lot of fun making this card.  Ok, not a lot of fun according to the clock.  It was fun making this card and it was a VERY quick card to make. SO in the time it took to make this card, I did have fun!!! LOL

The words were done on my computer, layered and set in place using Dimensionals.  I wanted to use the scalloped circle punch (as I almost always do) but it wouldn't fit in the area nicely so I just went simple and only had the one thin layer.  I do like it!!!

Thank you SO much for stopping by today,
Wanda

Papillon Potpourri Mother's Day Card

Today I'd like to share with you a Mother's Day card I made using the butterfly from the Papillon  Potpourri set.  I love using this layout but I don't use it very often because of having to line up the circles.  I did make a template but you can only punch those so many time and the holes become larger due to it being difficult to hit them exactly.  I did punch the holes in the Whisper White piece and then taped it to a Daffodil Delight piece that was 1/8" larger.  An easier way to do it would be to add a Whisper White panel and tape on 3 Daffodil Delight circles.  DUH!!!  I love those "DUH" moments.  They don't always come after the first time I've done something, it usually takes several attempts.

The words were done on the computer and layered on a Daffodil Delight circle and then set in place on a Tempting Turquoise Scalloped circle.  It was put on the card using Dimensionals.

The butterflies were stamped using Strawberry Slush, Tempting Turquoise, and Melon Mambo.  They were punched out and set in place using Dimensionals.

The background was done using an embossing folder.  Such a fun background, huh?

This was a very easy card to make.  I will be using this layout in the future, I want to try it with one of the flower stamps (that has a matching punch!!!).

Teeny Tiny Wishes Quick Mother's Day Card

If  you need a quick card for almost any occasion, this layout is the way to go.  I used the Lullaby decorative paper and punched out a 1-3/4" circle.  I taped it in place on a 2-5/8" x 4" piece of Whisper White card stock.  I stamped my words at the bottom.  These are from the "Teeny Tiny Wishes" set.

Then I layered this piece behind a 3" x 4-1/8" piece of Pistachio Pudding card stock.  I taped that in place on top of a folded half sheet of Whisper White card stock.

I punched the butterfly out of some Pistachio Pudding card stock.  I set it in place using Dimensionals.  I added 3 rhinestones down the center and that was it.

SO simple, SO quick, and yet elegant!  You can make this card in under 20 minutes, from start to finish!!!

A Blooming With Kindness Mother's Day Card

Blooming With Kindness is such a versatile stamp.  It can be used for SO many occasions.  Today I used Real Red ink and Real Red card stock.

I also used the Butterfly Framlits and Real Red card stock.

The words are from the Teeny Tiny Wishes set.

I set the butterfly in place using Dimensionals.  I added a few pearls down the center of the butterfly.

And that was about it. It's so simple, quick, and yet elegant looking!

Thank you SO much for visiting today,
Wanda

Edited on 5-7-15 I had the name of the stamp set as Blooming with Hope.

My Hero Children's Card

Have you ever been cleaning in your stamping room and run across unfinished cards?  "Why no Wanda, only you!!!"  LOL  Well, I was cleaning up some piles of card stock (so I thought it was card stock) and found cards I had not finished from a while back.  See how long it's been since I've worked on those piles? I start them and then I stop and then continue to add to them.  Well, this week I am finishing up the piles and putting the usable pieces back with their like colors and putting the scraps with the scraps!!!  I ran across these fun cards from the "My Hero" set.  I am aware that set is retired now.  I did not own it, so that means that this was a card from a Stamp A Stack.  Another reason I need to finish the cards at the Stamp A Stack instead of finishing one and putting the rest together later.  Later comes MUCH too late!!!  This was a cute set.  I have a Firetruck one to put together too.  I'll do that when I'm done posting here.  It will be great to have those finished up and ready to use!!!

I do like this layout.  The oval Framelits was used to make them.  It's also a fun fold type card.  The card was cut on the 8-1/2" side.  Then folded in half.  The front of the card was cut in half.  Then the decorative paper was added.  The ovals were cut and centered on the front but only taped on the left side (because there is no right side).  It's such a nice look and a fun way to make a card!

I don't have much more to add about this card, it was so long ago that I made it!!!  Sorry!!!

Tri-Fold Window Card Technique From the Herd

Today's card is a fun technique card.  This is from Terri's Technique Night for her downline.  IT was fun to see this card unfold but more fun to watch it fold up and see the critters looking through the window!!!

Cut your card stock 5-1/4" x 11".  You it on the long side at 4" and 8".  Stamp the background on the center panel (outside).  The Hardwood stamp was used here.  Cut out the window in the center panel with the oval Framelit.  Stamp the image on the top panel (the 3" inside part).  Fold the card at the 4" score line and sponge color through the window onto the bottom panel.  Stamp inside panels as desired.  Adhere the bottom panel (outside) to a 5-1/2" x 4-1/4" piece of colored card stock.  Embellish as desired.

There's lots of fun things you can add to that top panel instead of stamping the image. You can adhere a Framelit cut-out through that window.   You can stamp other images, cut them out and then add them to that panel.  You can have a lot of fun with this fold!

A Round Array Gift Card Holder Tutorial

I have to tell you, I was SO surprised at how easy this was to make.  I knew it wouldn't be one of those you spend a lot of time on but I didn't realize, from looking at it, that it was a super quick gift card holder.  I may have to keep this in mind come Christmas time!  It's a cute way to dress up a gift card instead of those little drab envelopes that most of the time come with the card.

I found the tutorial here at Kristy Coromandel blog. She has a very detailed tutorial on how to make these.  I liked her instructions, they were very easy to follow and they didn't leave you going "what?"!  I'm pretty sure most gift cards are the same size but you may want to check your gift card length before you snip the sides of the oval.  You want to make sure your card fits nicely.  My card seemed a little wider to me (though it wasn't).  I just made sure it was cut long enough.  And you do cut pretty close to the end of the sides of the holder.  That is probably why I thought my card was wider than "normal".  Anyway, it doesn't hurt to check before you cut.  Remember, "measure twice, cut once."

I used the Sweet Taffy decorative paper.  Tempting Turquoise card stock and ink.  Though in the photo the ink looks different, but in real life it matches. I added some ribbon to the top.  I ran the ribbon around and taped it in front.  Then I tied a bow and used a glue dot to hold it in place.  I moved my scalloped card stock down so the flap could tuck under it and then I didn't have to use any Velcro.  I find when I use it, my card stock and decorative paper tend to rip.  This way I avoided that.  I set that scalloped piece in place using a Dimensional and it solved the lid problem!!

These are fun and quick to make!  Have fun with them!
