Sterling Silver Spinner Ring

Wednesday night I was at Sarah's Quench Jewelry Arts Studio with my fellow employees and a few others, making this ring.  It was our Christmas gift from our boss.

It was such a fun glass and a great group of gals to be with.

I burnished my ring but wished I hadn't afterwards. I can tumble some of the darkness off it.  Though it does look darker in the photo than it is in real life.

I thought I would share this photo with you.  I ordered some of the patterned silver in the center part of the ring (the piece that spins around the ring) so I could make some rings for gifts and to sell.  Keep an eye out for when I post them.  I will add them to my web store when I finish them.  Tonight I am looking for my metal cutting scissors and my ring mandrel.  Both are lost!!!  UGH!

Thank you SO much for having a look at my fun ring,
Wanda

A Crazy About You Get Well Card

My get well card is a week overdue, maybe a week and a few days!!!  I was busy making other cards that I forgot that I had needed a get well card.  UGH!!  So today I thought I would sit down and make one.

I used the Crazy About You set for the flower and the leaf.  I stamped the flower using Crisp Cantaloupe and the flower using Pistachio Pudding.  I'm going to miss these colors, they will be retiring in a few months.

The words were done on my computer.  You can go to my web store and purchase the PDF file of 10 different words.  They print out on separate pages (24 words per page).  I print them out and cut them in 4 and keep them in envelopes.  Sometimes I'm ambitious and punch out a quarter sheet of them and then they are ready in the envelope.  But most of the time I just punch what I need when I need it.  Though it is great to have them all pre-punched, it makes it much quicker to just grab and tape!!!  The PDF is not very expensive and you can print and use as many as you like for any projects you make.  You can even print them out for your classes!!!

Okay, back to my card.  I used the paper doily!  I thought I should use them more on my cards.  I have this sinking feeling that they will be retiring too!  The center of the flower is a 1/4" circle of Daffodil Delight card stock. I wanted to add a pearl but I didn't want to pay the extra postage.  I even thought of a Candy Dot but I thought of that about 2 sentences ago!!!  LOL

This was a fun and quick card to make.  I think I may make some as Mother's Day cards!

Butterflies Thinlit Die Mother's Day Card

Have you ever noticed that there is always one pattern in the packages of paper that you really don't care much for?  It happens to me all of the time.  I think maybe once I had liked all of the designs in a package but it never happened again.  Well, this Lullaby decorative paper pack has this pattern that I did not care for.  Even the backside of it was not to my liking.  But today I challenged myself to make a card using it and this is what I came up with.  I now actually like that design.  It's not so wild looking in a smaller piece as it was on the full sheet.

I used the Butterflies Thinlits die.  I don't bother with the dryer sheets.  I just put one piece of waxed paper (waxy side down on the cutting platform, the card stock, another piece of waxed paper (waxy side up) and then the die.  The image cuts out perfectly without any major problems.  Some little pieces may still be in the butterfly but a tap of the finger and they fly right out of there.  No more piercing tool, or pulling on the pieces.  Not one of my butterflies have come out needing any rescuing!!! I LOVE that waxed paper technique for using these detailed dies.

Ok, so I got this perfect butterfly and I set it in place using Dimensionals. I added some pearls down the center of it to dress it up just a little bit.  Oh, and I used Crisp Cantaloupe card stock to make the butterfly.

The words are from the retired All Holidays set and they are stamped using Baked Brown Sugar ink.

The base of the card is Baked Brown Sugar, then a layer of Crisp Cantaloupe, then a layer of Whisper White.  The decorative paper was trimmed to fit.  A strip of Baked Brown Sugar was added to hide the line where the two colors meet.  Plus I needed something bold there to help the butterfly stand out more.

I had a silk rose from something from last year (that's retired) and I added it to the top left corner.  I do like how this card turned out and I now like that decorative paper!!!  Sometimes you just have to challenge yourself!!

This card would also make a great Birthday, Thinking of you, Sympathy, and Get Well cards.  Oh, that reminds me, I need a get well card.  I guess I'll be working on that one tomorrow!!!

Mother's Love General Card

Today's card is made using one of my most favorite layouts.  I LOVE it because it allows you to use those smaller images.  It really brings them up front.  They don't seem so small and lost.

I used the Crisp Cantaloupe color for the card.  It's got several layers but it went together very quickly.  I was able to use some of the paper from the decorative pack too.  I never seem to go through all of that pack before the colors retire.  I find it hard to believe that I can't use up a pack in 2 years!!!

This card can be used for a number of occasions too!  After I get done posting here, I am going to add a pearl to the center of the flower.  Seeing it in the photo I thought the center of that flower could use something.

This is a fun card to make.  I've made lots of them and I will probably make lots more.  Instead of the ribbon and bow, you can add words there to narrow down an occasion if you want.  Or you can let the inside of the card speak for you!

I am pre-posting my card today.  Tonight I am going to be making a sterling silver spinner ring.  It is our Christmas gift from our boss.  We are all being treated to a class on silver smithing!! I'm so excited about this class.  Not just because I get to play with fire, but because I get to play with silver and learn to hammer, form, and solder!!!  I will take a photo of it and share it with you tomorrow!!

Thank you SO much for visiting today,

Crazy About You Mother's Day Card

I have one more item to play with from my January order.  I eventually get around to the stuff.  Though there are times when I have ordered so much that I just can't seem to play with it all and I forget a few. I have a Big Shot Christmas Stocking that I never did play with.  There were just so many other things to play with that I never found time for it.  I have been scaling back my ordering just because of that.  I need to keep my wants to a minimum so I can play with them all before they retire.  Some things retire too quickly!!

Today's card was made using the Crazy About You stamp set and the matching punch.  Ya just gotta LOVE those punches.  They make card making SO much quicker, easier, and neater too!!!  i would never be able to cut out such nice lines as the punches do!!

The color of the flowers are Coastal Cabana, Strawberry Slush, and Crisp Cantaloupe.  I wanted to use those colors because they are going to be retiring in a few months.

The words are from the Teeny Tiny Wishes set.  There's lots of other words there that could be used instead of Mother's Day.  But as I had said a few days ago, I am trying to get a big stash of Mother's Day cards done for the little kiddies in May!

In the center of each flower I added a pearl.  The flowers were set in place using Dimensionals.  The Modern Label punched piece was set in place with Dimensionals as well.

This was a super quick and easy card to make.  How can it not be easy when you can stamp and punch???

Thank you ever SO much for visiting today,

Bloom with Hope Birthday Card

Please put down any sharp objects or things that could cause injury!!!  This card may push you over the edge.  If there were an ugly card contest, this card would have been entered.  This card went in a totally different direction than I had planned.  And all I can say about it is YUCK!!!  I couldn't even give this card to anyone!!!   I am going to rework it in a few days and actually come up with something that isn't so hideous looking.  You know when I tell you that the photo doesn't do the card justice?  Well, in this case, the card is even worse in person!!!  I am not being hard on my self either.  There is nothing about this card that goes together.  I promise you I will rework it and show you something better in a few days.

The Bloom with Hope set deserved better than this!!!

I do thank you for stopping by today and I am sorry the card is not up to my usual work.

A Blooming With Kindness Mother's Day Card

Today while I was looking at all the stuff on my workroom counter I noticed the paper doilies sitting there.  I had not played with them in a while so I took one out of the pack.  I wanted to make enough of the doily show on the card so that you could see that it was a paper doily there instead of a bit of lacy paper.

First I stamped the flower from the Blooming with Kindness set and I layered it.  Then I made the textured background and set it in place on top of the Old Olive card stock but I didn't tape it in place yet..  Next I set the doily on top of the dotted paper and realized that I should trim up the doily to fit the dotted paper and not let it over hang on the Old Olive piece.

Next I punched out the Old Olive scallop.  I wanted to be able to see where to place it with all of the elements in place but not stuck down yet.  When I saw where the doily would look best I glued it in place.  Then came the flower and it's layer.  And finally the scallop.  I set it in place using Dimensionals.  I don't know why that center of the scallop looks so off center but it is not. It must be the lighting!

This was a very fun and quick card to make.  I am trying to get a stash of Mother's Day cards going for the upcoming garage sale.  I sell (other than my unwanted housewares) some necklaces with mom, nana, grandma, aunt, sister, etc. on them and cards too.  The kids that shop with their parents LOVE to buy them. I keep it cheap enough so it won't break their bank and they get to give their special person a fun little gift that they purchased themselves.  It was such a great success last year that I'm going to do it again.  Hundreds upon hundreds of people come to this annual garage sale so I'm sure there will be new people.  Anyway, it's for the kids.  I try to purchase necklace chains at a very low price so I can pass it on.  I love the smiles on these kids faces.  It makes the day SO worthwhile!

Crazy About You YoYo Spinner Card and Tutorial

Today I'm going to share with you another YoYo Spinner card. This one was done at Terri's downline technique night.  Normally I am setting things up there but Terri told me that I could make my own cards.  I was thrilled.  I wasn't prepared but I managed to get the card put together and I had a great time.  It was the first time my sister was there so I got to sit by her too.  It was a nice night.

My card looks a bit warped because it is.  I used a glue stick to put it together (remember, I said I had come unprepared!!!).  And I also had a problem with distinguishing my right from my left.  It doesn't easily show up on the photo (unless you look closer) but my fold is on the right!!!  I know, it's a card for left handed people!!! LOL

You can see my other Yo Yo Spinner card and a link to instructions and a video on how to do this yourself.  Click here.   Just a tip here.  When assembling the card it's important to remember that the two window sheets don't need to be a specific size.  They just need to be small enough to hid behind the spinning image.  So if  you can use your Big Shot and Thinlits to cut your circles.  Window sheets can jam a punch and sometimes damage it.  So use your Big Shot if you can.

Also on this card, the tiny flowers were put together with a Dimensional in between and the thread (with a knot tied in it).  Pearls were added to each side.

When assembled, the Window Sheets will be touching each other.  The thread winds around the dimensional.  I thought it was suppose to go between the window sheets.  Don't do that.  It will make your brad pull through the card stock.

For this card only one image was stamped, unlike the one in the instructions where there were two stamped.  That was because one had to be set on top of the other to cover the brad.  Here the tiny black flower hid the brad.  Whatever works for you!!!

The stamp set used here is Crazy About You.  Such a fun set.  I have it and have not used it yet.

I think that about covers it!  So go make one, they're fun!!!

Thank you SO much for visiting tonight,

A Papillion Potpourri Sympathy Card

I was working on a fun card technique I saw at Split Coast Stampers.  It had a 10 minute video. Silly me to think that the card could be done in 10 minutes.  I had to pause the video many times, go cut or glue something and then turn the video back on.  SO needless to say I didn't get the card done.  Plus I screwed up the first cut and didn't have any more decorative paper in that color.  So I'm not sure if the card will turn out because of the error.  But you can be assured that I will share it with you regardless!!! Lucky you!!! LOL

Today's card came from Terri's super fun Stamp A Stack last week.  We used the Papillion Potpourri stamp set and the words are from the Petite Pairs set.

The decorative paper is from the Painted Blossom pack. I didn't buy that pack so I can't make anymore cards like this but I can make them using different decorative papers.  I have TONS of decorative papers.

The butterfly was stamped using Wild Wasabi ink and punched out.  It was set in place with Dimensionals and pearls were added down the body of the butterfly.  The words were punched out with the oval punch and set in place with Dimensionals as well.

It's a very simple and quick card to make.  This decorative paper takes up most of the viewing area. It's SO lovely that you don't need to add much to the card to make it pretty!!! I LOVE papers like that.

A Painted Petals and Butterfly Thinlit Mother's Day Card

You will never guess where I saw this card!!!  If you said Pinterest, you are right!  I seem to spend a lot of time there. Though I am not always looking at cards, I'm looking at gardening, beading, and decorating stuff too!!!  But mostly cards!!! LOL

This card was made by Deb at Stampladee.  Her card was a thank you card but I thought I would make a Mother's Day card.

I didn't add the Strawberry Slush thick baker's twine to the butterfly because I don't have any more twine at all.  I thought I had some but I either misplaced it or ran out.  I will be ordering some soon.

The set used here is the Painted Petals set.  The flowers were stamped using Strawberry Slush and the leaves were done using Pistachio Pudding.  I also stamped the word with the Pistachio Pudding.  The words are from the All Holidays retired set.  I don't often get rid of my word sets.

I didn't add the gold dots but I think I will be doing that after I get done with this post.  The card looks okay in person but looking at it on the screen here it does need that punch of gold.

I used the new Butterflies thinlit die.  I LOVE it.  Easy way to use the intricate dies is to put a piece of waxed paper down on your cutting plate (waxed side down), then the card stock, then another piece of waxed paper (waxed side up) and then the die.  Run it through your Big Shot and tape the cut pieces off if any are still attached.  SO quick and SO easy.  That method has made me LOVE the intricate dies again!!!

I also added some shimmer mist to the butterfly but it didn't show up in the photo.  But that's okay, you get the idea.

This was a super fun and easy card to make.  I think I make a few more of these since they were so quick and easy.  This would make a wonderful birthday card, thinking of you card, thank you card, and a get well card too!!!  Such a fun card!

A Simply Wonderful Birthday

Today's card comes to you via Terri's VERY fun Stamp a Stack last week.

This is a very fun card because you can make your decorative paper any color you want it.  The paper is white with clear embossed images on it.  I know, you've done that technique before but this time it's all done for you and it's all perfectly placed on the paper.

We sponged on Coastal Cabana ink and then proceeded to finish up the card.

We stamped the words and then punched them out.  The little flower was punched out and then set in place on top of the word piece.  A small rhinestone was added to the center of the piece and then that piece was set in place on the card with Dimensionals.

This was such a fun card to make. I did not buy any of the Irresistibly Yours specialty paper but I think I'm going to have to.  It's just TOO easy to work with.  I especially LOVE the polka dot paper in that pack, not to say that the other images aren't nice, it's just that I always have a preference!!!

A Butterfly Thinlits Gorgeous Grunge and Love & Sympathy Card

I am loving detailed Thinlits now since I discovered the best way for me to use them.  I shared this the other day but I will share it again and again!  All you need is some waxed paper.  You don't need the dryer sheets.  You put the waxy side down on your cutting platform.  Then the card stock.  Then another piece of waxed paper and then the Thinlit.  Run it through your Big Shot and remove the butterfly.  I did find that a few pieces stuck to the butterfly but I just lightly flicked the butterfly and the pieces popped right off!!!  I am SO into these detailed Thinlits now!!!  I LOVE how this butterfly turned out!

So now lets talk about the card.  The base of the card is a folded half sheet of Whisper White card stock.  The focal Whisper White piece was cut 5" x 3-3/4".  And the Tempting Turquoise piece of card stock was cut 1/8" larger than the focal piece.

I used the dotted image from the Gorgeous Grunge set and Tempting Turquoise ink.  I did stamp off once before I used it on the card stock.  I repeated this several times on the piece.  Then I used the splatter piece.  A few of the images are directly from the ink pad and then stamped again on the image.  I did that a few times too.

The words are from the Love & Sympathy set.  I found a card I liked on Pinterest and I traced it back to Liz at Stampin' Bliss.  I thought it would be fun to recreate it "my way!"  I just picked out what I liked on her card and ran with it on my card!  And this is what I came up with.  I like it.  I need to get it out in the mail on Tuesday.

Fabulous Four Birthday Card

I suppose this card could serve as more than just a birthday card.  With these words, it could also be a congratulations card, a thank you card, and even a thinking of you card.  Any occasion that needs celebrating!  I just thought of it as a birthday card!

This card was another that we made at Terri's FABULOUS Stamp-a-Stack.  I had such a great time and made SO many fun cards!

There was another set that Stampin' Up! called Fabulous Four.  I remember there were 4 stamps in the set.  One of them was a bunch of rings.  I made wedding cards with it.  It's odd that they would use the same name on their newer sets.  They should Google the names before the put it on the new set!!!  I'm going to Google it and see what the other 3 images were in that set.   I couldn't wait, I just Googled it and found that I was right, there are now 2 sets with the same name.  The first set also had Leaves, Diaper Pins, and Presents along with the rings image.

Okay, onto my fun card!  The base of the card is a folded half sheet of Crushed Curry card stock.  The decorative paper is called Birthday Bash.  I think I'm going to have to get that paper, it's SO festive looking!!!

The words were stamped using Bermuda Bay ink.  The Scalloped Tag topper punch was used on the word piece and 3/8" Tango Twist satin ribbon was tied to the end of the tag.  The tag was taped in place on top of the decorative paper.  And that was it.  Super cute, super easy, and super fun!!!

A Moon Lake Father's Day Card

I know it's a little early for Father's Day but I thought I would get a jump on things here.  I LOVE it when I can be ahead of the game.  And then there are those time when I make cards and I'm ahead of the game and I misplace the cards!  UGH!!! Sometimes I just can't win!

But for today, lets just pretend that I will remember where I put this card in 4 months!!! LOL

This is one of the cards I made at Terri's Stamp A Stack last night.  I had such a great time there and Terri always has such great cards to make.  She's SO talented and knows how to put things together and have them turn out great.

For this card we used Baked Brown Sugar card stock for the base of the card.  The Modern Label punch piece was punched using Soft Suede, and we used Very Vanilla for the focal and word piece.

The image is from the Moon Lake set.  I LOVE it when Stampin' Up! comes out with new masculine sets. The image was stamped using Baked Brown Sugar ink.  Once the image was stamped it was punched out using the 2-1/2" circle punch.  The edges were sponged and the piece was set aside.

The Hardwood background stamp was used on the Baked Brown Sugar card stock, then it was folded in half.

Burlap ribbon was trimmed and set in place with Dimensionals.  Then the circle was set in place with Dimensionals.  Then finally the Modern Label piece was taped in place.

This was a very fun, quick and easy card to make!

A Work of Art and Flower Shop YoYo Spinner Card

I guess I ended up using more stamp sets here than I listed.  The Pear Pizzazz background image is from the Work of Art set.  The Flowering Flourishes image was stamped using black Memento ink.  The flower is from the Flower Shop set and was stamped using Melon Mambo ink.  The center of the flower was stamped using Daffodil Delight ink and punched out with a 1" circle punch. And the words are from the Wetlands set.  There, I think that covered all of the stamp sets used here.

This was a fun card to make.  At first I struggled but once it dawned on me not to let the thread go between the two pieces of acetate then it all went well.

The instructions can be found at Split Coast Stampers.  There are step by step instructions and a video tutorial as well.  I prefer the step by step ones because my hands are usually full of something and I don't want to be touching my keyboard to pause a video.  I know, I could just wipe off my hands but sometimes I have to rewind and try it more than one time.  So that is why I'm all for step by step (illustrated) instructions!!!

I did change my piece a little too.  I didn't use buttons for the pull cord.  I used two pearl halves and stuck them together with mini glue dots.

I liked making this card and I can see myself making another one in the future!!!!  Head on over to Split Coast Stampers and play along!!  It's always fun to learn a new technique!!

Bow Builder Punch and Digi Paper Wrapping Paper

Today I am going to share with you a fun find.  I did a search on the net for some free Valentine's Day digi paper to download.  Oh my, there were SO many pretty papers to pick from.  I saw this one and downloaded it.  It is suppose to have a light tan strip/plaid background but it didn't print.  But that's okay, I like it the way it is.  I found this print here.  These little gifts are just some theater size boxes of candies.  So that means I could get by with a regular size sheet of copier paper. Though for things like this I do use 28# or 32# paper. I like the paper to be a little thicker for wrapping.  You can't see through it as easy.

After I printed my paper and wrapped the candies, I proceeded to make the bows.  I used the new Bow Builder punch.  You have to punch the paper twice to get enough pieces, and you end up with one little rectangle that is extra and you just recycle it.  I did Google how to put the bow together because I hadn't seen one made before and I wanted to know what to do.  The best tip for this is to take your bone folder and curl the top bow pieces.  If you try to roll the paper, it cracks on the grain and it doesn't round very nice.  So curl the paper first. This also includes decorative paper but especially card stock (which is what I used here).

The video I watched said to use glue dots to hold the pieces together.  I used glue.  I clipped the pieces together as I glued them so I could just move on to the next one.  I had 5 bows to make, so by the time I finished one side of one bow on all 5, they were set up enough to do the next side.  It worked out well making more than one.  Once they were all assembled, I did stick it on the package with a glue dot.  These are fun and simple to make.

A Painted Petals Birthday Card

It's snowing outside and my thoughts are leaning towards spring with all of it's pastel colors!  I'm so done with winter!

I thought I would play with the new Painted Petals set.  It's a fun set with several fun images in it.  The first time I used this image I had a lot of trouble trying to get the flowers lined up right.  This time I broke down and dug out my Stamp-a-ma-jig and tried to work with it that way.  I don't like using my Stamp-a-ma-jig with the clear blocks.  It sometimes shifts a little on me.  I'm sure if I work with it more using the clear blocks I will get better at it.  Anyway, this time I got the flowers closer to the leaves and I was much happier with how it turned out.  And I only stamped one!!!  I used Daffodil Delight to stamp the flowers.  Then I took the Hello Honey marker and colored in some dots and I highlighted the edges a little with it.  Click on the photo to see a closer view and you'll see what I'm talking about.  Doing that just defined the petals a little more.

The leaves were stamped first and I used Old Olive on them.

I used Daffodil Delight decorative paper on the background panels.

The base of the card is a folded half sheet of Old Olive.  The layers are also Old Olive.

I used the Dotted folder for the Whisper White background panel.

The round scallop punch, 1-3/8" circle punch, and the 1-1/4" circle punch were used here.

The words were done on my computer.  I have them already punched out and sitting in an envelope for when I want to either make a quick card or can't find the right size words for the 1-1/4" circle.  You can purchase 10 different words in PDF format in my web store.  Check here for more details on the words.

Perpetual Birthday Calendar And Gorgeous Grunge Page

Today I thought I would make my February perpetual calendar page before the month is over!!! LOL  Looking at the photo, I wish I would have added regular Real Red hearts at the bottom instead of stamped off ones.  I could always add some solid ones to the bottom right to balance it a bit more.  I will have to think about that one.  This Perpetual Birthday Calendar from Stampin' Up! looks like it's going to be a fun and very creative way to decorate each page.  I did use the Gorgeous Grunge dots image to cover the page more.  I stamped off so the writing I add on the calendar will still show!  Something you need to keep in mind when covering your entire page!!

I just wanted to get this page done.  I bought this stamp set and thought that I'd better use it.

Perpetual calendars are nice because you really don't have to mess with them much.  It's not a "weekly" calendar.  There are no days of the week so you can use the calendars year after year after year.  Though, a word to the wise, write your names in using a pencil (things in life change) and erase names using an art gum eraser.  It's a kneadable eraser, which means you can stretch it and play with it!  I like to form mine into cones and get a nice tip on it to get into areas that I need to be careful on either side of what I'm trying to erase.  Plus it doesn't harm the paper, it only removes the graphite!!  Keep that in mind next time you are in the art department at your favorite craft shop.

I made up my own perpetual calendar.  I printed it out on my computer and I punched the holes using my Rubi Coil punch machine.  If you are interested in purchasing the download for these pages, you will be able to find the item in my web store.  Click here to be taken to directly to the item in my store.

A Gorgeous Grunge Work of Art Little Letters Valentine's Day Card

Every since I discovered how to use my Thinlits with waxed paper the other day, I've been having fun with them.  Finally!!!  I like the two layers of waxed paper technique the best.  And I do check to see which side the wax is on before I run the piece through the Big Shot.  It's important.  Just use your fingernail to see which side is waxed! Just remember to keep the wax off your card stock and you're good to go!

Once I got the letters cut I stamped the background using the Gorgeous Grunge set and Real Red Ink.  I inked the image up, stamped once and then stamped again on the card.  I did that twice.  Then I did the same with the bigger spot image.

Then I took the heart from Work of Art and stamped it on a scrap piece of Whisper White card stock and punched it out with the 1" circle punch.  Then I punched out a 1-1/4" piece of Basic Black card stock and layered the heart on it. I set that piece in place using a Dimensional.

The letters were glued in place because taping them was too difficult.  Glue was SO much quicker and easier.

That panel was set in place with Dimensionals on top of a folded half sheet of Whisper White card stock. And that was it.  Very simple and quick too!

Thank you SO much for stopping by today,

Teeny Tiny Wishes Gorgeous Grunge and Butterflies Thinlits

Today I thought I would play with the Butteflies Thinlits.  Not because I needed a butterfly card but because I needed to try out a different technique that helped you learn to love these detailed thinlits more.  I had tried the dryer sheet one.  It worked but I was not totally happy with it because the butterfly stuck to the sheet and I had to pull it off.  In pulling it off the sheet, I did rip it a little.  So the other day I saw a tip that required using waxed paper.  The person showing it said that there was a waxy finish left on the item.  But that person should check the waxed paper first.  Only one side has wax on it.  Use your fingernail and scrape the paper and find out which side it is.  Place that side down on your cutting mat.  Then place your card stock down.  Then place another piece of waxed paper down. Waxed side up and then the framelit.  Run it through your Big Shot and it's done.  You just arch the paper a little bit and the pieces just pop off.  I like this technique So much better.

So to make this card I used the Gorgeous Grunge set and Crumb Cake for the background.  And the words are from the Teeny Tiny Wishes set.  This was a very fun card to make and I now LOVE those detailed thinlits.  Bring um on!!! LOL

A Moon Lake Get Well Masculine Card

Today I needed to make a get well card for my friends dad.  I was leaning towards the Lovely as a Tree set and then I remembered the new Moon Lake set.

I stamped my image using the black Memento ink pad because I thought I was going to color it in using the Blendabilities markers.  I started coloring and didn't like how it looked so I stamped a new image and used markers, a blender pen, and sponges.

I colored in the boat using Real Red marker and a blender pen.  First I colored it all in with the blender pen and then I came back with the marker and colored in the darker spots.

Then I colored in the water using Marina Mist marker and a blender pen.

I colored the trunk and some branches on the tree.  Then I sponged in some green.  I also sponged in some green for the grass. I used Wild Wasabi for the greens.  And then I sponged in some Marina Mist in the sky and it was done. It was a pretty quick card to make in spite of all the coloring!  I like how it turned out and now I need to get it ready for tomorrow's mail.

The words were done on my computer.  You can purchase a download of 10 different words that fit in the 1-1/4" circle punch. Some also fit in the oval punch.  Print as many out as you wish to use on all of your cards!  You can read more about the download here.

A Petite Petals Birthday Card

What a pastellie looking card this is, huh?  Talk about soft colors.  I LOVE these colors.  It feels like spring, in spite of what the groundhog said.  And the only groundhog I thought was cute was the one in Caddyshack!!! LOL

Today's card was a very simple one.  I used the decorative paper from the Lullaby pack.  The flowers are from the Petite Petals set and the words are from the Wetlands set.

This was an extremely easy and quick card to make.

The flowers were stamped using Coastal Cabana, Daffodil Delight, and Pistachio Pudding ink. The flowers were punched out and set in place using Dimensionals.  A tiny pearl was added to the center of each flower.

The words were stamped using black Memento ink.  I added some Daffodil Delight 1/4" cotton ribbon and it was done!

I told you it was quick and easy!!! I think I might make some more of these as Mother's Day cards.  It took all of 10 minutes from start to finish and that included putting away the stamp sets and ink!  Yup, I actually put something away!!! LOL

A Petite Petals with Work of Art and Flowering Flourishes Birthday Card

As I was trying to put a dent to the mess in my workroom, I ran across a piece of this fun decorative paper from the Sweet Taffy pack. Tempting Turquoise has always been a favorite of mine. It's such a soothing color.

I stamped the Flowering Flourishes image using black Memento ink.

Next I used the Work of Art image and Tempting Turquoise ink to make the background of the focal panel. I stamped the image 4 times (without reinking).

I stamped the flowers from the Petite Petals using Tempting Turquoise ink.  I punched them out and set them aside.

I punched out a Tempting Turquoise round scallop and I cut the layers of Tempting Turquoise.  I was now ready to assemble my card.

The base of the card is a folded half sheet of Whisper White.  I added a layer of Tempting Turquoise on top of that.  Then the decorative paper.  I trimmed the focal piece so there was about 1/8" of white on each edge. I cut the layer behind it to fit.

The words were done on my computer.  I did have a question about the words.  I do sell them in my web store.  You can find them here.  I've been having trouble finding stuff in my web store.  I hope the direct link works but if it doesn't then just click the word "shop" on the top of the main page, it will take you to the store.  If you encounter any other problems, please let me know.  The words page have 10 different greetings that all fit in the 1-1/4" circle punch and some fit in the oval punch.  I like to print out a page of each and punch them out just to have them on hand.  It makes for a quicker card!!

I did have fun making this card.  I think I would like to try it in other colors too!

A Work of Art Birthday Card

When I first saw this card made by Martha at "Inch of Creativity", (I don't have the direct link to this card, just to her website, sorry) I knew I just HAD to make it for my sister.  She is so into the primary colors.  When I saw this card she was the first person that came to mind.  And next month is her birthday too, so how perfect!!!!  And I will even have her card made ahead of time.  WOW!  I'm socked!!! LOL

This card was very quick and simple to make.  I think Martha may have used Only Orange, but I opted for Real Red.  Daffodil Delight and Pacific Point were used here too.  The words are from the "Hey You" set and stamped in black Memento ink.

The set used for the colored images is "Work of Art". One of my favorite sets!!!

Rhinestones were added and some ribbon.  I didn't have the same ribbon Martha used and that's okay.  My sister is not going to be seeing the original card and she won't know the difference.  Plus I'm trying to use up some of the ribbon I have on hand here.  And believe me, I have a lot!!!

Like I said, this was a very quick card to make, and it was fun too!

A Work of Art and Bloom With Hope Birthday Card

I SO love the Bermuda Bay colors!!! I thought I would play with the Work of Art set today.  I had a piece of Bermuda Bay card stock sitting on my worktable so that is how the color was chosen.

To make this card I first stamped the flower from the Bloom With Hope Hostess set.  Then I stamped the image from the Work of Art set.  I colored in the flowers using the Bermuda Bay Blendabilities markers.  I colored in the stems with Old Olive Blendabilities markers.

The words are from my computer.  I printed them out and then punched them out.  I set them in place on top of a scalloped circle.  Then I set that on the card using Dimensionals.

This was an extremely easy and quick card to make.  And again, I just LOVE the colors.

Thank you SO much for stopping by today,
