I don't play with embossing powders much anymore. I'm not sure why. Maybe it's because everything I've been playing with lately has a die or punch with it and I'm feeling that it's enough. Though embossed trees punched out would be pretty!!! Hmmm, I'm not really sure why I don't play with embossing powders much anymore. I do like the looks of them.
I found this card, or something similar to it, made by Julie at Stampin' Gala. I did make a few little changes. My words are different and so is the background as well as the layout of the background. My bow is also different. I didn't have the gold ribbon that Julie used but I did have some gold ribbon. It happened to have wire in it (not a Stampin' Up! product) so I thought I would use it. It doesn't make a bow as nice as regular ribbon does. And here I had to add the bow separate because of the wire. But I was glad I could use what I had in my home. I have SO much stuff to use up before I invest in any new stuff.
To make this card I stamped the trees in VersaMark and embossed them using gold embossing powder. Then I used the embossing folder for the background and cut it to fit the tree panel. I set it in place to see where to stamp the words. Those words are from the "Teeny Tiny Wishes" set. I embossed them in gold too.
It was a quick card to make too! I love the gold on white. Julie used the gold on Very Vanilla. I just grabbed white when I saw the card. I didn't read first. But either way it turns out to be a pretty card!!! It was a fun card to make too!

Beautiful CAS card.
ReplyDeleteNormally if I'm going to be using wire ribbon on a card, I will pull out the wire which making the bow much easier
I really like the embossed paper behind the image, it almost looks like a decorative frame.
