Festival of Trees

I have not posted for a couple of days.  I just needed a little time off.  I try to post every day.  I even set my blog up to pre-post while I went to Portland for most of last week.  I don't like to tell the world I'm not at home until after I get home!!! There's just some things you're not suppose to do!

So onto my card!  My sister brought over this "Festival of Trees" set today and I just had to play with it. I didn't have a plan for the images and I didn't put much thought into playing with it today until after it came.  I thought it would be fun to add some of the new "Trim the Tree" designer paper from the paper stack.  Those stacks are such a great value.  You get 48 sheets with designs on both sides.  How fun is that?  This paper happened to work out that the stripes and the dotted design on the back worked out together for me. Sometimes the one sheet's backside doesn't go with the image in design or color, or some other reason.  But this one sheet was very pleasing to me so I went with it.

I stamped the tree in Garden Green since the paper stack read that Garden Green was the green used in it.  Then I took the dotted image and colored in the "bulbs" with markers and stamped it on the tree.  As I look at it now I wish I would have colored the trunk brown before I stamped the image.  I thought about making another one but I don't think I will since this is not the card I am looking for to use for our yearly Christmas cards.  I have been using photos of snowmen I make outside but this last winter was brutal and when we did have the nice snow I had no desire to go out and play in it. I was fed up with winter and all it had to offer.  So this year I will be making a stamped card!!!

This was a fun card to make with lots of colorful layers.  I LOVE Cherry Cobbler and I think it makes a very rich looking Christmas card.

Thank you SO much for visiting today,
Wanda
