Today I have a quick and fun Technique for you. It's called the "Splitting Hairs Background Technique". For my card I used the technique on the decorative paper. You just cut your paper a little shorter than you need it. Or you can always trim it later depending on how wide you want the "hair" to be. I cut my decorative paper at an angle. I think I cut my whole piece a little too short, I didn't want that big of a "hair" between the pieces. Anyway, you cut the paper at an angle and put it back together on a solid background. You can put it very very close or further apart like I did. I do like how it turned out, I was just seeing something different in my head!!
Anyway, the stamp set I used here is "Too Kind". I used Strawberry Slush card stock and ink. The decorative paper is from the "Sweet Taffy" package. I also used Garden Green ink for the stems on the flower.
The words are from my computer. I do not know what the font is or what size the font is. I printed them a while ago. I just type up the words and print them out on scrap copier paper and I hold the negative piece of card stock from a 1-1/4" circle punch over the words and see if they fit or if they need adjusting. Once I get the words to fit, I copy and paste them on my screen in 4 columns and then I print it out. I save the page to a file of other events and holidays so anytime I need some words I have them on my computer. I print them out on vanilla and white card stock and I put them in envelopes so I have them on hand. I do sell these in my web store. You can print out as many as you like, they are in a PDF file. There are 10 different greetings (10 sheets of different greetings). All you do is print, the measuring is done for you!
This was a very fun card to make. It really didn't take very long from start to finish either! I can see myself using this background technique again. It's simple enough and gives a nice effect.
Thank you SO much for visiting today,
Wanda
