A Bloom with Hope Birthday Card

This card was fun to make.  I found the strip of textured Whisper White background paper and thought I would add it to the card I was going to make today.  I don't remember where it came from and I suppose I could look back on past cards made and maybe figure it out but it really doesn't matter.  It's a scrap piece and I'm going to use it!!!

I stamped the leaves using Pear Pizzazz ink.  Then I stamped the flowers over it using the black Memento ink pad.  I colored in the flowers using the Blendabilities markers Rich Razzleberry pack.

I used Perfect Plumb on the layer behind the focal panel.  I wished I would have used the Rich Razzleberry card stock but I opted for the Perfect Plumb because the flowers were not as dark as the card stock so I thought I would stick with the lighter color.  But it's ok, I still like the contrast.

The decorative paper is from the "In-color" paper pack.  I need to use those more, I end up with lots of paper left by the time these retire.

This was a super quick and simple card to make!

I often get asked for measurements so I will give you the focal piece measurements, the rest you can pretty much figure out for yourself.  That piece measured 3" x 3-3/4".  The Perfect Plumb layer was just 1/8" bigger all around.  The textured panel measures 2" x 4-1/2".  There, that should get you going on this card!!!

This is a very versatile card too.  It can be used for quite a number of occasions such as Mother's Day, Get Well, Thank you, Thinking of You, and even a Sympathy card.

Embellished Events And Many More Wedding Card

I LOVE all the cards that Terri had at her Stamp a Stack but I would have to say that this one was my favorite.  It was a tough choice but this is my pick.

I think the Decorative Dots textured folder was a nice effect in the background.  I tend to lean towards the white on white cards.  And as a wedding card makes it even more special.

The hearts were set in place using Dimensionals.  Both are the glitter papers.

This would also make a wonderful anniversary card as well.

If you're looking for a quick and simple but yet elegant wedding card, then this is the way to go!  It will probably take you longer to get the supplies together than it would be to make the card!!!  Such a perfect Stamp a Stack card!

A Flower Shop and Gorgeous Grunge Stamp a Stack Card

Today I am going to share with you another card I made at Terri's Stamp a Stack.  I love the Flower Shop set. And what could make a Flower Shop card even better???  Gorgeous Grunge!!!  Another set I love to play with.  Oh and don't forget the Petite Petals set.  The best part about these sets is, they have matching punches.  Well, not the Gorgeous Grunge set but the other two!!!
I have gotten SO spoiled by sets that have matching punches.  I tend to buy them over other sets because I just hate to cut out stamped images anymore!!!

Isn't this just a fun and pretty card?  The flowers with the rhinestones were set in place using Dimensionals.  This card can be used for SO many different occasions.  The Coastal Cabana card stock is such a pretty color and when I look at this card it just makes me feel happy!  It's got a calm feeling to it to me!

This is a super fast Stamp a Stack card to make.  I think this would be pretty in other colors too.  I may have to give that a try sometime soon!

For You and Fabulous Four

The "For You" and the "Fabulous Four" sets were used to create this card.  I'm not sure what set these words were from.  When we stamp, there's usually lots of fun word stamps to use on our cards.  I tend to make birthday cards when I stamp.  This card is another from Terri's Stamp a Stack.

The decorative paper on this card is from the "Confetti Celebrations" Designer Paper pack.  I thought it was such a great pack of paper to make card layouts like this.

This card is not a "full" card.  It's folded in half like you would normally make a card that opes on the right.  But the front is cut in half and the center strip with the words was added.  I'm hoping that the shadows on the card help you see that there is nothing behind the wording on the right.

This is another fun layout.  I get stuck in a rut and my cards tend to be the same orientation and always open on the right.  And this is a simple card that goes together very quickly!

For All Things Fall Card

Oh my, this was such a sweet card to make.  This is another card from Terri's Stamp a Stack.

I LOVE the colors of this card.  That Mossy Meadow is such a pretty green.  The decorative paper is from the "Color Me Autumn Designer Paper.  I do like the "For All Things" stamp set but I didn't order it.  I just didn't see myself making a lot of fall cards.  I have too many other stamp sets that I have hardly used.  Why do I do that?  I buy the ones I like, not a big surprise.  But I find myself not using the sets as much as I thought I would.  And I usually make at least one card a day!!

Ok, back to this fun card.  We stamped off on the background image and then stamped on the Very Vanilla card stock.  Then we inked up the leaves image and stamped on top of the background stamped area.  Then the piece was punched out using the 2-1/2" circle punch. A ribbon was tied around the panel and taped in place on top of a piece of Very Vanilla.  Then that piece was taped in place on top of the card.

I just love card with that little strip of decorative paper.  It's a great way to get a bit of color on a card and yet leave enough paper to make a bunch of cards.  Perfect for those of you who do Stamp a Stacks.

Bloom With Hope and Hardwood

Today I'm going to share with you a card I made at Terri's wonderful Stamp a Stack.  I LOVE attending her events.  She's such a talented person!

This card was fun to make.  I used the Hardwood background stamp using Strawberry Slush card stock and ink.  I also sponged the edges of my card.  I tore the front about 3/4" inward and I sponged that edge too.

The white piece was punched with the Scalloped Tag TopperPunch and Strawberry Slush Thick Twine was tied to the top.  That piece was stamped using the "Bloom with Hope" set.  I sponged the edges of that piece too.  And then that piece was set in place using Dimensionals.

I LOVE the color of this card and I love the Hardwood background in the same color as the card stock.  It's a nice effect.

Snowman Hat Centerpiece and Bed Spring Snowman Tree Topper

Today I was at a craft fair.  I'm only doing two of them this year.  I had to cut back because my time is just being consumed by other things and I don't seem to find that time to work on crafting anymore.  It's sad because I do love it.  I still love polymer clay and I did get to play with it a little.  I made a few angel and some other tree ornaments, but nothing like I wanted to make.  I really need to get into a regular routine where I have set days to play with clay, beads, and other things.  I have SO many supplies and I really need to use them!!!

I just LOVE this hat centerpiece that I made.  I had seen one on Pinterest and I just had to make one.  I went to the Goodwill to get a belt and an LP record.  Who has LP's anymore???  We didn't.  Funny thing about this LP, it's a Christmas one.  Like it mattered.  But if you look on the bottom you'd see the Christmas songs listed!  I took a coffee can and glued it to the LP.  Then I spray painted them after the glue dried.  I asked hubby to grab a can of black spray paint when we were at WalMart.  Does this look like black to you?  Me either!!! LOL  It was a dark metallic brown.  I just decided to go with it since I didn't want to go back to the store to get another can of paint. And what was I going to do with the brown can? So I decided to just use it. And I do like how the color turned out.

I dug through my Christmas stuff and found some greens and other fun things to put around the hat.  I cut and glued the belt to fit and then started decorating the hat. The cute snowman head was from a pick I had gotten several years ago at Joann's.  It was in my stash.  I had fun gluing things all around the hat.

And my second item is a cute snowman tree topper.  A coworker gave me a bed spring she had gotten at some antique show.  I had been talking to her about them and she found one and got it for me.  What a sweetie!  I showed her what I did with it and she said she should have picked me up more!!!  I'm kind of glad she didn't.  I'm not sure I wanted to make a bunch of these.  Plus I know I don't have a bunch of snowman heads.  I had to decapitate a snowman just to get this head.  I should have taken a photo of the body!!! It's kind of spooky.  Maybe I should set it outside on Halloween!!! LOL  Anyway, to make this, I just sprayed the bed spring white.  Once that was dry, I glued the snowman head on top and then white pompoms on the front.  Yup, as simple as that!!!

So this is why I have no card to post today!

Frankenstein Card a Thinlits Circle Card

Today I thought I would make one of those Thinlits Circle Cards.  I have not played with that die in a while and I really do like it.  So I'm sure you will see a few more cards made using it in the next few days!!!

I saw these Frankenstein cards last year and wanted to make one but never got around to it.  So now you can see how far behind I am on things.  A year sounds about right!  So sad!!!

I had a lot of fun making this card. It went together SO well.  It was quick and easy to make.  And after I got done gluing the hair in place I opened the card and it didn't work!! Yup, you guessed it, I made the card upside down.  Now it's scrap!!! ARRRG!!!

But I'm okay with that.  I still like the looks of the card and I can now say I made one!!

I used the 2-1/2" circle punch for the larger eye.  The 2" circle punch for the other eye.  I used the 1" circle punch for the black part of the eyes and the nose.  I used the chalk marker for the highlights on the eyes.  And I used a black marker for the scars.  I sponged the nose using Old Olive.  I may make another one the right way but for now I can at least say I made one!!! LOL  You can see the original one at Sandy's "Udderly Awesome Stamping from the Heart" blog.  She made hers right!!! LOL

A Thoughts and Prayers meets Work of Art Sympathy Card

Yes, another sympathy card.  I got a call yesterday from the neighbor that our neighbor had died unexpectedly.  It's so sad.  He was such a fun and funny guy.  He was always happy. In the 28 years that I've known him I have never seen him angry or even sad.  He's always been such an upbeat person. We had a running joke between the two of us.  We'd SO often see each other at the grocery store and we'd say stuff like, "you need to let me know when you're going so you can pick up my groceries.  I'll give you a list next time!"  I'm going to miss seeing him at the grocery store and out in his yard.

So today I made this card using the "Thoughts & Prayers" and "Work of Art" sets.   I used black Memento ink for the tree and words.  I used Old Olive for the grass area and Soft Sky for the sky.  I did the Old Olive first.  Then I inked up my stamp with Soft Sky and stamped off twice.  I then stamped next to the Old Olive.  Then I inked it up again and stamped off once and stamped it next to the lighter Soft Sky.  Then I inked up the stamp one more time and stamped it directly on the card stock.  It was a simple and quick card to make yet very subtle with a sincere look to it.

A Love and Sympathy Sympathy Card

I found out today that my aunt died.  She'd been battling Alzheimer's and a few weeks ago she fell and broke her pelvic bone.  From there she just went downhill.  She lived a very long and full life (well until the end when the quality just wasn't there). But before that she had a wonderful life. I remember hearing stories of her and her husband rollerskating a lot and they were even asked to join the Roller Derby!  I could never see her doing that.  She's such a short and tiny person.  Plus she didn't like violence.  She lived across country from us so we didn't see her very often.  But none the less, it is still sad that she is gone.

So I went down to my workroom and made this card to send to my cousin.

I used the "Love & Sympathy" set to make this card.  I also used Rich Razzleberry and Old Olive ink.  I colored directly on the rubber with the markers, huffed on the image and stamped it.

I kept it simple because that was the way my aunt was.

Bootiful Occasions Halloween

I didn't buy any Halloween stamps, paper, or even glitz and glam for the season.  It just wasn't in my budget this year.  I looked in the catalog and saw that "Bootiful Occasions" had not retired so I could use the witch boot image for my Halloween card.  I had some Washi tape leftover from last Halloween so I thought I would use some of that too.  You can always use some decorative paper in the spot I used the Washi tape.  You can even cut that paper in strips and make it look like tape too!

The words are from the "Teeny Tiny Wishes" set.  It's one of my "go to" sets when looking for words.  It has almost all the words you need!

This was a super simple and fun card to make.  I colored in the circles on the boot with Wisteria Wonder and I used Pumpkin Pie for my orange.  I used Whisper White and Wisteria Wonder card stock.

I masked off the words on the bottom of the boot before I stamped it on the card stock.  I punched the boot out using the 2" circle punch.  I sponged the edges when I was done coloring it in.  And that was it!  So quick and so simple.

A Bloom With Hope Birthday

Okay, so I not only used the same stamp set as yesterday I also decided to do another multi-layer card.

Today I used Calypso Coral for my color.  I colored in the flowers using the Calypso Coral marker and a blender pen.  The leaves and stem were colored in using the Old Olive marker.

I also used the Calypso Coral decorative paper from the 12 x 12 paper stack.  I don't use those packs enough and I should.  I still have a lot of paper left by the time the colors expire.  I'm not all that thrilled with the second layer print. It's kind of hard on the eyes.  That is why I chose it for that layer, I was able to cover up a lot of it.

And another thing different about my card and they way I make cards.  I don't think I have ever centered the greeting as much as I have done here.  It's usually off to one side or the other, but mostly on the bottom left.  But here's it's almost dead center. I like it but it's not how I usually add my wording!

This was a very fun card to make and I was glad I had time to play with all those layers.  The flower layer was set in place using Dimensionals.  The words were too but the Dimensionals were only added to the left side of the scalloped circle and tape was added to the right so it would lay flat on the card.

I do thank you SO much for visiting today,

A Bloom With Hope General Card

This card can be used for quite a number of occasions.  I didn't move the panels over far enough or up far enough to make room for some wording.  Though I think I may be able to fit a Modern Label punched piece on the left side of the flowers and using the Word Window punch and the "Teeny Tiny Wishes" set to create some words for the card.  But for now I'll leave it plain and not commit to any one occasion.  I'll wait until one arises and go from there!

I did have fun making this card.  It's been a little while since I've made a card with a lot of layers.  I use to LOVE to do cards with lots of layers.  Okay, I still do love to make them, I just don't make as many because of the time involved.  Though as I was making this card, I didn't think it took all that much longer to make.  Maybe 5 or so more minutes.  Not a big deal.

I used the Lullaby decorative paper on the 2 panels behind the flowers.  I LOVE that paper too, it's so soft and sweet looking.

I colored the flowers in using the Coastal Cabana marker and a blender pen.  The stems are colored in using Baked Brown Sugar.  I sponged all the edges of the pieces.  I thought it would soften the card even more, and it did!  I like it.

I did enjoy making this card and I may do a few more multi-layer cards.

3-D Star Technique

This is fun and easy technique to play with.  You cut your card stock using the Stars Framelits.  Next you score straight lines from the tip of the star to the center.  Then you score the "elbow" or "crotch" part of the star.  It's located between each star tip.  You score that to the center too.  Then you fold the tip scored lines up (hills) and the "elbow" lines you will fold down (valleys).  Then you adhere the star with Dimensionals.

I didn't make this cute candy box, Terri did.  I wasn't able to attend her technique night because I was teaching a beading class.  I don't usually schedule my Tuesday's for teaching, but it happened.  So I missed out on creating this fun treat box.  I do not know if these boxes are available in the catalog of if they were created on Technique night.  But I suppose you could create any box you like and adorn it with these fun stars!!

Work of Art Military Flag Card - Masculine Card

This card was a bit more difficult to make than I thought it would be.  Or maybe I just made it more difficult.  That could happen!!!

My girlfriend's son is at boot camp and I thought I would send him a card.  An American flag is a perfect themed card to send to someone in the military.  I tried to make this flag several times.  The first time I stamped the blue field first and worked around it.  NOT a good idea.  My stripes when way over the top edge by the time I got up there from stamping the 3rd row.  So I thought I would try it again.  The same way.  The same results.  What was I thinking???  Then I tried the first and second row of red but forgot to mask off the area for the blue.  UGH!  So I had to start over.  I (once again) repeated that mistake!!!  Now by this time I'm getting frustrated.  SO I decide to do the flag pole first.  Now where that thought came from I have no idea and it resulted in a failure.  SO I got out one final piece of Whisper White card stock and inked up the red waves.  I stamped them where I thought they should go and was ok with that.  Now I knew I needed to block off for the blue area but I needed to move that block up.  I masked the area off where I thought it should be and I stamped the next row of red.  I could have stamped the image a bit closer to the last one but I got it where it needed to be so it was close enough.  I stamped the third row and removed the mask!!  YAY!!!  I was on my way.  I stamped the Pacific Point blue part of the flag!!  We're on our way now!!  Then I needed to do the flag pole.  I got out the Hello Honey ink and I was going to stamp the pole and I thought I should practice on one of my ruined pieces to see how to line it up nicely.  In doing that I didn't move my good image over far enough and I got the Hello Honey ink on the bottom right corner.  UGH!!!  I REALLY didn't want to do this all over again so I thought I would hide it with a tiny star.  Well, one star wasn't enough to cover the area.  I wasn't surprised!!!  I also got a Hello Honey smudge between those 3 bottom stars and the bottom of the flag.  See it, right there in between those???  But wait, there's one more.  Up at the top of the flag, there's a red smudge!!!  What the heck????  I am not usually a messy stamper.  I thought about adding more stars to hide those smudges but in setting them on the spots they looked out of place.  So I decided to just leave it the way it is.  I apologize to Aly at Aly Stamps for ruining her wonderful card.  I am sorry, there is not a direct link to this card on her site.  I found this card on Pinterest and whoever pinned it did not add a direct link, only a link to Aly's blog.

So if you're going to make this card, please keep your work space free of stuff, especially the good piece you're working on.  Oh and keep your fingers free of ink!!!  Handy tips, huh?  LOL

A By the Tide Masculine Birthday

I found this fun card at Stamp and Scrap with Frenchie.  And no, I have not been camping out at her blog!  Though she does have a lot of wonderful posts there!!!

I love making masculine cards.  I just never seem to find or create enough of them.  And when I do find one that I REALLY like I just HAVE to make it!!!

I love how Frenchie used the Lullaby decorative paper for the water bubbles in the background of the fish.  And yes, I did have to fussy cut the fish.  I HATE cutting things out by hand.  Now that tells you how much I liked this card and wanted to recreate it. I did not want to make it a thinking of you card like Frenchie did so I opted to make a birthday card.  I used the Wetlands set for the words and the By the Tide set for the images.

I colored the fish in using a blender pen and ink pads.  I just kept adding fun colors until I thought it was colorful enough.  I think it turned out well.  The fish was set in place using Dimensionals.

When I cut the bottom wave, I just cut both the card stock and the decorative paper at the same time and then I trimmed the tops of both to fit.  I find it easier that way than cutting one and trying to get the exact same curve so they fit together.  The first time I did it was because I was being lazy!!  LOL  Now I do it because it works!!!  Go figure!!!

You can go on over to Frenchie's blog and see how she made hers.

Elf Kisses Fry Box Version Weekend Project

I had to laugh when I was making this elf fry box.  In my post yesterday I said that I didn't put Frankie's bolts on because they stick out and would bend or get caught on stuff.  Well, here I am today gluing on ears that are sticking out.  But they are folded so they will bend back and not get too ruined.  And I also laughed when I was working on the ears. I got out the bird punch and was going to use the wings for ears.  Talk about teeny tiny ears!!!  I ended up punching a 1-1/4" circle for each ear and then winging it (no pun intended).  I just kind of followed the bird wing a bit and then traced what I did onto the other circle so they were similar.  I scored the edge about 1/4" into the ear so I could bend it and glue it in place.

I used Pink Pirouette card stock for the fry box.  I used a 1" circle punch for the eyes and the pompom on the hat.  The nose is punched from a 1-1/4" circle of Pink Pirouette.  I sponged the nose, ears and around the "face" of the fry box using Pink Pirouette ink.  Oh and I sponged the 2" circle that contains the elf kisses words.

Since I didn't have any Christmas candy (yet) I didn't fill the fry box.  I would wrap up the candy in plastic and tie it together with the circle of elf kisses wording.  The only thing I wish I would have done was to center the words instead of having them all on the left side of the circle.  I think it would have looked much nicer.  I can always change it, after all, there's no Christmas candy in the stores around my home!  I have time!

I think he's silly looking and when I look at his face I just smile!!!  It's elfish!!! LOL  Have fun making these!

The words in the circle are as follows:

With Little elf eyes watching you,
There's not a lot that
Santa misses,
So to help you be good today,
Here's a bunch of sweet
Elf kisses.

Frankenstein Fry Box Candy Holder Weekend Project

After seeing a cute Frankenstein fry box on "Stamp & Scrap with Frenchie" I thought I would try one.  I did not invest in the Stampin' Up! fry box die because I already had one.  I just couldn't justify spending the money on another one.  I have not used mine in while.  Another reason not to buy another one!!  Mine is shaped a little bit different than the Stampin' Up! one but you can make it work.

I used Old Olive card stock to make the fry box.  I used a 1" circle punch for the eyeball and a 1/2" circle punch for the center.  I took the Real Red marker and drew in the bloodshot lines.  I then added the black centers.  The eyelid is a 1" circle punched from Old Olive and cut in half.  I sponged the edges of the Old Olive on the eyes after I assembled them.

The nose is a 1-1/4" circle of Old Olive and I sponged the edges before assembling the face.  Glue down the nose first, then the eyes.  That way you can tell where to put the mouth and the scar.  I did not add the bolts sticking out. They would just get bent or hung up on something.  I added a 1/2" silver circle to each side of the box.

Fill it with candy and give it to your favorite someone!!! I'm not sure who I am going to give this one too.

These are very easy and fun to make.  I would say, from start to finish, that I had this complete in under 20 minutes!

Thank you SO much for visiting today,

Craft Fair

I am getting ready for the yearly craft fair and I thought I would show you one of the items I will be selling.  I have a lot of projects going on and I'm trying to finish up at least one each night.  Tonight I was able to finish the "believe" necklaces.  I probably should have had some Christmas type background card for them but I didn't.  I may have to look into that for next year.

These are such fun necklaces.  Behind the Santa hat is stamped a snowflake. I should have slid the hat over so you could see it.  I thought the center of the piece needed something.  If the hat should swing or move off to one side I thought it would be fun to see something there instead of a blank area.  I used Swarovski crystals in red, green, and clear.  And I used a 20" Sterling silver-filled (not plated) neck chain.

I hope these will be a good seller!!  I did have a lot of fun making them and I can always use them as gifts too!

Thank you for visiting today.  The stamping project will follow.

Lovely as a Tree General Card

Okay, I confess.  A couple of days ago I used the large single tree from the "Lovely as a Tree" set and I did not put the set away.  I was glad I hadn't because I was thinking of Christmas cards and I thought it might be fun to make a winter solstice card.  I know, here in Minnesota it's very unlikely to have green grass in the winter!!!  I wasn't thinking when I was picking out the colors.  The grass is green and the sky is blue! I learned that as a kid!! LOL  I used Coastal Cabana for the sky.  I think Soft Sky may have been the way to go to give that look of winter.  And I would probably not do anything on the ground.  Or maybe some ultra fine white sparkly glitter!  I'm not a big fan of glitter but I will use it if I think it will greatly improve the look of the card of give the illusion I'm trying to go for!

After making this card I think I may pass on using this set for our Christmas card.  I like how this card turned out but I don't think I want to make it our Christmas card.

This is a super easy and very fun card to make!

A Summer Silhouettes Birthday

Once again, this is not what I had imagined it would be!  UGH!  I promise you that tomorrow's post will be SO much better!

I was going for simple but this is just too simple.  I think I should have used an embossing folder on the background and it would have improved the card vastly.  Oh well, it is what it is.  So if you're looking to make a super quick card that's a bit on the ugly side, this is the card for you!!! LOL

I used the "Summer Silhouettes" set to make this card.  The card stock I used is Pumpkin Pie, Soft Suede, and Very Vanilla, though the photo looks pretty white, I assure you that it is vanilla.

The ink I used is Pumpkin Pie and Old Olive.

There's not much more to say about this card (other than YUCK!)

Thank you for putting up with my card today!

Lovely as a Tree Masculine Card

I just got in from watching the space station fly over my home.  It was like watching an airplane go by.  Nothing to write home about but yet it was kind of cool knowing that it was the space station and not an airplane!  I'm just glad I wasn't woken up in the wee hours of the morning to go see it!!  I bet someone else was glad they didn't have to wake me up in the wee hours to see the airplane like light go by!!! LOL

Okay, onto this card! This "Lovely as a Tree" was much lovelier in my head than how it turned out on paper!!!  I used Marina Mist for the base of my card and then a piece of Soft Suede for a layer.  I stamped the tree using Soft Suede ink and Very Vanilla card stock.  I did use a little Soft Suede ink on my blender pen and softened the tree up a bit.  Why I don't know. I think that is what ruined the look of the tree.

I did use the piercing tool and the guide to make the holes on the two corners.  It's nice now and then to dig out some of the stuff you own and use it!!! LOL

I used the circle scallop punch and the 1-3/8" circle punch.  The words are from my computer.  I do not know what the font is or what size the font is.  I printed them a while ago.  I just typed up the words and printed them out on scrap copier paper and I hold the negative piece of card stock from the 1-1/4" and 1-3/8"" circle punch over the words and see if they fit or if they need any adjusting.  Once I get the words to fit, I copy and past them on my screen in 4 columns and then I print it out on white and vanilla card stock.  I save the page to a file of other events and holidays so anytime I need some words quick I have them. on hand.  I do sell these in my web store.  You can print out as many copies as you like, they are in a PDF file.  There are 10 different greetings (10 sheets of different greetings).  All you do is print, the measuring is done for you.  I like to have them on hand to put together quick cards or when I'm making a bunch of cards.  They come in handy.

I do thank you for stopping by today, and for bearing with me on this not so interesting or exciting card!!! LOL

Bloom with Hope Birthday Card

I found this fun card on Teri's Craft Spot blog.  I thought it was such a pretty card.  I did my best to copy it.  The background texture is a little different.  The panel on top of the textured background is a little different.  Mine is a bit longer and at a different angle.  And I added my words separate instead of directly to the flower image panel.  Oh and my flower panel is longer than Teri's.  I like both cards.  The Coastal Cabana is one of my favorite colors!!

This is a very quick and easy card to make in spite of all of the layers.  I have not done a many layer card in a very long time. It use to be what I lived for!!! LOL I LOVE making those many layer cards. But there haven't been too many in my searches that I have just HAD to make.  I did bookmark a few but I find other cards that I find quick to make and run with them.   I should make more many layer cards every now and then.  They help to use up scrap card stock too!

I thank you SO much for visiting today,

A Flower Shop Birthday

I was in the mood to make a fall card.  I have a large maple tree in the front of our home.  It's not extremely tall but it's massive.  We don't even discuss all the leaves that come off that tree!  But we do talk about the colors on that tree this time of year.  There are so many shades of orange!  The bedrooms glow of orange when the curtains are open. I LOVE the color in those room!  So I decided to go with an orange color to do the flower.

I stamped the flower using Vellum, a VersaMark pad, white embossing powder, and medium Pumpkin Pie Blendability marker.  I colored the back side of the vellum with the marker.  Once it was dry I turned it over and took the darker Pumpkin Pie marker and colored the center of the flower.  I did wipe a bit of the color off with my finger.

I used my stylus and my scoring board and made lines on my card stock.  I started 1/2" from the edge and made 3 consecutive lines.  I turned the card stock and started in a 1/2" and made the 3 lines on the bottom.

The crooked words are from the "Bloom with Hope" set.  I practiced several times to get it straight and then when it came to stamping on the actual piece I got it crooked.  Now I know there's a thing called a "Stamp-a-ma-jig" but that would require me getting it out of the cupboard and then putting it away when I'm done!!!  SO lazy, huh?  LOL  So when you're lazy and not a good aim, you get crooked cards!!!

The layer the lines, flower, and words are on was cut 4" x 5-1/4".  When I finished I set the flower in place using Dimensionals and I set the layer in place using Dimensionals.  It's a super quick and easy card to make.  Just stamp straight!!! LOL

By the Tide Masculine Card

Well, after a few computer glitches, I'm finally back online here.  My post is a bit late because of it but I finally got on here and can finally post my fun card.

I found this card (most of this card LOL) by Diana at Stamping with Diana.  I changed a few things on it.  I didn't have the folder she used and I changed the colors a bit.  I also didn't add any words on it. I'm not sure what occasion I will be using this masculine card for but whatever one comes up, I'll be ready!!!

I used Crumb Cake ink and card stock, and I used Bermuda Bay ink and card stock to create this card.  I do like the card, it was easy and fun to make.  I did not like cutting out the fish but I survived it!!! LOL

The base of my card is a folded 5-1/2" x 11" piece of Bermuda Bay card stock.  The Whisper White layer is cut 5-1/4" x 4".  The Crumb Cake textured piece is cut at 2-1/8" x 5".  The Bermuda Bay layer under the fish piece is cut 2-3/4" x 2-1/2". And the layer with the fish on it is cut 2-1/2" x 2-1/4".  The fish was stamped using Bermuda Bay ink and cut out by hand!!!  The fish was set in place using Dimensionals as well as the layers it's sitting on top of. This was a fun and simple card.  I can see myself making more of these, one at a time, not a set of them, I don't like cutting out pieces anymore!!  I'm too spoiled by all the sets with dies!

A Papillon Potpourri Birthday

I found a fun layout and sweet card made by Gillian at "Made with Sparkle".  I didn't have the stamp sets she used and I don't think they were made by Stampin' Up!, but I used the things I had and made the card work.  I did change the bottom a little.  I added the Modern Label piece to the bottom.  I didn't want to stamp directly on the Whisper White card stock.  I often don't have good luck with that.  I don't get it straight and when I do get it straight it smears or I catch an edge of the rubber.  So I opted to use the "Modern Label" punch and add my wording that way. Plus it gave the card a little more color.

The butterfly is from the "Papillon Potpourri" set and the words are from the "Teeny Tiny Wishes" set.

I used  Bermuda Bay ink and card stock on this card.  The decorative paper is from the "Lullaby" decorative paper pack.  And if you look closer you can see 3 rhinestones going down the center of the butterfly.

The butterfly, decorative paper circle, and the punched label are all set in place using Dimensionals.  Oh and the whole front panel was also set in place with Dimensionals.

This was a super easy and fun card to make.  I was actually trying to think of a way to make this into our Christmas card this year.  Something fun and maybe a snowflake where the butterfly is.  I need to make sure I don't make it too thick with all of those Dimensionals, and I need to make sure I don't use the rhinestones or I will have to pay extra for the postage.  I send out too many cards to have to pay extra for them!  If it were just a couple of cards I wouldn't mind adding the rhinestones.

Anyway, I did enjoy making this card.  I was thinking though that I should have leaned more towards the oranges for the butterfly to make it more of a fall looking card.  But this is what I used and I do like it!

Too Kind Splitting Hairs Background Technique

Today I have a quick and fun Technique for you.  It's called the "Splitting Hairs Background Technique".  For my card I used the technique on the decorative paper.  You just cut your paper a little shorter than you need it.  Or you can always trim it later depending on how wide you want the "hair" to be. I cut my decorative paper at an angle.  I think I cut my whole piece a little too short, I didn't want that big of a "hair" between the pieces.  Anyway, you cut the paper at an angle and put it back together on a solid background.  You can put it very very close or further apart like I did.  I do like how it turned out, I was just seeing something different in my head!!

Anyway, the stamp set I used here is "Too Kind".  I used Strawberry Slush card stock and ink.  The decorative paper is from the "Sweet Taffy" package. I also used Garden Green ink for the stems on the flower.

The words are from my computer.  I do not know what the font is or what size the font is.  I printed them a while ago.  I just type up the words and print them out on scrap copier paper and I hold the negative piece of card stock from a 1-1/4" circle punch over the words and see if they fit or if they need adjusting.  Once I get the words to fit, I copy and paste them on my screen in 4 columns and then I print it out.  I save the page to a file of other events and holidays so anytime I need some words I have them on my computer.  I print them out on vanilla and white card stock and I put them in envelopes so I have them on hand.  I do sell these in my web store.  You can print out as many as you like, they are in a PDF file. There are 10 different greetings (10 sheets of different greetings).  All you do is print, the measuring is done for you!

This was a very fun card to make.  It really didn't take very long from start to finish either!  I can see myself using this background technique again.  It's simple enough and gives a nice effect.

A Walk in the Wild meets Work of Art Masculine Birthday Card

Today while looking around in my workroom I saw this stamped image of the moose from the "Walk in the Wild" stamp set.  I thought I should do something with it.  There was nothing wrong with it and I don't remember why I had stamped it and set it aside.  But I thought I should make something with it before it gets ruined or the set retires!

I used the "Hardwood" background stamp and Chocolate Chip ink and made my wooden background.  Kind of wishing I hadn't done that. It's a bit too busy looking to me. But it's on there and there's not much I can do about it now!  It certainly screams "masculine", doesn't it?  LOL

So to dress up the moose I used a couple images from the "Work of Art" set.  I stamped the top image in Chocolate Chip ink and stamped off once.  I didn't want the moose to have a big dark swatch over it and you wouldn't be able to see the detail.  Then I took another image from the set and stamped the grassy area using the new Mossy meadow and I stamped off once with that too.  It's a VERY dark green ink and again I didn't want a dark swatch of green over the bottom area.  Stamping off lets me see the details of the deer, yet gives the image some color.

Anyway, back to my card.  I set the words in place on top of a Chocolate Chip scalloped circle using Dimensionals.  This card went together very fast and was super easy to make.

Edited 10-/4/14  I had the stamp set as "Wetlands" instead of "Walk in the Wild".  See what happens when you find stamped images laying around?  You don't even remember the names of the set they came from!!!  But it was great to be able to use it!!!

A Gorgeous Grunge Papillon Potpourri Birthday

I found a fun card that combined Gorgeous Grunge along with Papillon Potpourri.  After a closer look at the original card I discovered that the Papillon Potpourri set was not used.  I'm not sure where the other butterfly came from but I like the one I used.  The original card was made by Melissa at Rubber Funatics.   Anyway, I stamped my butterfly using the new Blackberry Bliss ink.

I used Crumb Cake ink.  The flowers were punched out of a scrap piece of Strawberry Slush.  Tiny pearls were added to the center of the flowers.  I threw in a few larger pearls on the background.

Sequins were added, I set them in place using some Crystal Effects.

The butterfly and the Modern Label piece were set in place using Dimensionals.

This was a super fun card to make. It's kind of busy but for some odd reason, I like it.
