A Summer Silhouettes Thank You

I thought I would try the stamping on the clear blocks technique. I'm not sure what the name of that technique is.  I stamped the block using Coastal Cabana ink and then I stamped the edges of the block using the Crumb Cake ink pad.  I stamped off onto some scrap copier paper and then I misted the block from about 12" away.  I stamped the block on a piece of Whisper White card stock and I trimmed the edges when it felt dried enough to handle.

Once the piece was dry I stamped the flower stem using Old Olive ink, and then I stamped the flowers image using Strawberry Slush. I stamped it once and then just kept stamping over the same spot.  It will never hit the same spot twice so you get that fun muted fuller look to the image.  I thought it was pretty. I was only going to stamp it once but I thought it would look to plain.

After stamping the flower I sponged the edges with Crumb Cake ink.

The base of my card is a folded half sheet of Crumb Cake.  My layers are actually Soft Suede because the Crumb Cake card stock looked too washed out.

The "Thank you" is from the "Another Thank You" clear photopolymer stamp set.  I love the clear stamps, you can see exactly where you are going to stamp them.

I used the "Decorative Dots" embossing folder for the background.  And the final touch was the punched butterfly.

This was a very fun card to make and I was thrilled at how the clear block stamping turned out. Give it a try!

Thank you SO much for visiting today,
Wanda
