Festive Flurry

Today I am going to share with you a Christmas card I made using the "Festive Flurry" set.  I don't plan on making a lot of Christmas cards this month.  Or at least early this month.  I have some fall and Thanksgiving cards I am in the process of making that I will be sharing with you.  But every now and then I get an idea for a Christmas card and of course I will HAVE to share it with you!

Today I found this fun layout on Pinterest.  You can see it here.  It's a sweet butterfly and flowers card.  But the Labeled Love set was used and the layout is as you see it here.  I liked how the centers of the stamped image was punched out, as well as the image itself.  I had added tiny little snowflakes from the "Warmth & Wonder" hostess set.  There aren't many small Christmas or winter images in the catalog this year.  I LOVE using the smaller images.  Oh well, maybe next year!  Anyway, I stamped those little snowflakes and I punched them out using the little flower punch.  The tips of the snowflakes fit in there pretty well.  I did cut a few tips off  but it's still pretty.

Now for the instructions to make this card.  The base of the card and ink used is Coastal Cabana. Now here I thought the new in colors were so spring like that I wouldn't be using them in the fall and winter.  I was wrong!  I took a piece of the decorative paper from the "Winter Frost" paper stack.  I trimmed it to 4" x 5-1/4".  I taped it in place.  The Labeled Love images were stamped and punched out.  The centers were punched out using the 3/4" circle punch.  Punch that center circle first and then the stamped image.  If you do it the other way you will need to attach the piece to a small piece of post it paper so it will fit in the punch and you will be able to hang onto it at the same time.

Next I punched out 1" squares (three of them) and set them in place behind the Labeled Love piece using Dimensionals.  I then took those punched out snowflakes and added them using Dimensionals.  The words are from the "Warmth & Wishes" set.  I used the Envelope Maker to round my corners.  I sponged  that piece and centered it on the card. Then I taped the Labeled Love pieces in place.  And for the final thing I added some medium size rhinestones to the background snowflakes and tiny ones to the snowflakes inside the Labeled Love images.  And that's it.  It sounds more complicated and more work than it really is.

Thank you SO much for visiting today,
Wanda
