Simply Sketched Mojo Monday Birthday Card

My card today was done using the Mojo Monday layout. 

I have done these layouts a few times but I tend to use the Split Coast Stampers ones more.  I guess because I have those coming to my email.  I'm sure there is a way to sign up for the Mojo Monday layouts but I really don't need anymore emails or layouts.  I have printed out the Split Coast layouts and have them in a photo album so I can refer to them when I need a layout or if I struggle with an image size.  I just take that image and page through the album until I find one that it fits in and then I just go from there with colors and embellishments.

Today's card was made using the Venetian Romance decorative paper.  I didn't think I had any of it but I did!!!  It's amazing what you find when you tidy up things a bit!!! LOL  

I used a paper doily but with the way the sketch is laid out you can use a scalloped circle too.  I did change the layout a bit.  I wanted to use the Happy Birthday words from the "Simply Sketched" set but they wouldn't fit in the little image that was shown in the layout.  SO I just used the words and made that spot bigger.  I also moved it over.  I also moved the flower part over a bit too.  The sketch had it in the center and I didn't think it looked right so I moved it over.  I do like the way it turned out and I SO love how Tangerine Tango and Crisp Cantaloupe go together so well.  Oh and don't forget that little bit of Soft Suede behind the decorative paper circle.   

I like making cards now and then that don't require a lot of stamping.  All that was stamped here is the words.  So simple.  So quick and very pretty!
