I saw this card on Terri's display board and I just fell in love with it. I wanted SO badly to make one. I had everything but the music wheel so I just HAD to order it. I suppose I could have found some musical decorative paper but I believe that is in vanilla and not white. I don't think vanilla piano keys are very attractive!! The wheel wasn't that expensive anyway so I decided to get it. I am sure I will find other cards to use it on in the future!
When I started this card I began with the "Word Window" punch and punched out the 10 white "keys" and then 7 black "keys". I set the white "keys" down on my work surface and taped them together on the back. I made sure they were as even as I could get them. Then I added the black "keys". As I was working on that part of the card I had to stop and ask myself "what are you doing?" LOL There were so many little pieces. But once I got them all done the rest of the card was extremely easy.
Next I inked up the wheel and ran it across the Whisper White card stock. I trimmed it up to 1-1/4" x 4-1/8" and the black layer behind it is cut at 1-3/8" x 4-1/8". I taped the two pieces and set them aside. Then I made the "Dotted" background using the "Dotted" embossing folder. I set the piece in place on the card so I would know where to tie the ribbon. I added the ribbon and then stamped the Happy Birthday image. It's from the "Labeled Love" set. It's SO sad, that's the only stamp I've used in that set so far! I also punched out the Happy Birthday and a piece of Basic Black card stock. I cut the black piece in half and layered it on the top and bottom of the Happy Birthday piece.
I assembled the card. First I added the Dotted piece and then the keys. The musical part and the Happy Birthday piece are set in place using Dimensionals. And there you have it. An exact copy of the card on Terri's board!!! I do not know the original designer of this card. Terri had gotten it in a swap and I didn't see any names on the board. So if you know who made this card, please let me know so I can give them the credit they are due and a link back to their website.
Thank you SO much for stopping by today,
Wanda
