A Sympathy Circle Thinlits Die Card

Today I needed a sympathy card. My uncle passed away and in a little while we are off to the memorial service.  As I was surfing the net, stalking blogs or just snooping around (you pick whichever one fits the best!!!), I ran a cross this card made by Sandy at her "Udderly Awesome Stamping from the Heart" blog.  I am having a lot of fun with this new Thinlits die.

There is a little difference between my card and Sandy's.  I used a 1/2 sheet of cardstock and fed it through the die so it didn't cut off the back side of the card.  That part of the cardstock went over the frame and the rest of the cardstock went under like normal.  Then you run it through your Big Shot and it makes a light scoring mark where the frame gets squished against the paper but doesn't cut it.  I still use my scoring tool to make a better mark.  After all, it is a half sheet of cardstock!!! LOL  I just like to have a nice crisp fold there.

Then the fun starts.  I used the Dotted folder to get the texture dots on the left side. I stamped the birds in branches from the Serene Silhouettes set.  My decorative paper came from the Modern Medley pack.  And I used the "Thoughts & Prayers" set for the words on the scalloped piece and on the right piece.  That is how big the piece is that you fold over when you use a half sheet of cardstock.  I folded the card up and of course had to open it to see how cool it operates and it's now ready for me to write something in and off we go to the service.

Thank you SO much for stopping by today,
Wanda
