Today I had to work wish some retired papers. I don't have any current decorative papers yet. Feeling sorry for me now? LOL I just made do with what I had. I used a scrap piece of decorative paper from the Poetry Print pack. I never did use that up before it retired! But I can still use it on many other cards until I get some new stuff!
Today's card is a fun technique card. The technique is called Embossed Resist.
I stamped the En Franceais set for the background. I stamped it using Soft Suede. Then I stamped the leaf from the "Secret Garden" set using VersaMark. I embossed it with clear embossing powder. Then I sponged on some Cherry Cobbler ink. When you do this you must remember to wipe off the embossed area with a paper towel. The ink beads up on it and if you don't wipe it off it will get all over your fingers and make a HUGE mess!
I used several punches on this card too. I punched out the sponged image and then a little bit larger Very Vanilla circle and then the scallop.
This is one of Terri's layouts. I thought it would be fun to play with it. I had other plans for the embossed piece but I didn't like how it turned out so I ended up using the circle punch on it and then worked with it!
To do the words (which came from the "Petite Pairs" set) I stamped them on a scrap piece of Very Vanilla cardstock and then I taped that piece to the front of this card. I used just a little bit of tape and it was on the backside of where the words were. I taped it in place so I could punch through the two pieces at the same time. That way when I put it together the words will fit perfectly into the circle. Once punched I taped the words down but did it through the front of the card so I would get it exact. And it worked!!!
This is a fun layout to play with. It's quick and easy too!
Thank you SO much for stopping by today,
Wanda
