Today's card comes to you via Pinterest. Another one I remembered to mark where I found it.
I used the "Flower Garden" embossing folder. I had a lot of problems with this folder squishing the paper so much that it cracked. I saw on the net on how to prevent that from happening using the wood grain embossing folder so I thought I would try that out on this one and it worked. You take a piece of thick vellum and cut it to fit the embossing folder. Tape it to the inside of the folder. I don't think it matters if you tape it to the lid or the bottom, it will do the job the same either way. But you can test it out to see if you think there is a difference. Once it's taped on add your card stock and run it through the Big Shot. The edges appear to be smoother, no rips or tears and those wrinkles that happen to the flat part of the card stock are less and sometimes not visible at all. What a fun technique to use on those folders. No more ruined impressions! You gotta LOVE that!
So now lets talk about the card. After you get done with the embossing you stamp the words on. These words are from the "Kindness Matters" set.
Punch out a butterfly. I used Real Red decorative paper. I colored in the body of the butterfly with a black marker and I drew on the antenna with a fine point marker. I set the butterfly in place using Dimensionals.
The piece was then layered on top of a piece of Real Red that was cut just 1/8" larger. And then that was set in place on top of a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock. And there you have it. Another quick and every so beautiful card!
Thank you SO much for visiting today,
Wanda
