Love & Sympathy

Today’s card comes from you via the last Stamp A Stack that Terri had.  My sister and I went to it and had a GREAT time.  Terri is SO talented and her cards are always lovely and fun to do.  

This set is basically a sympathy set but all you do is just add different words to fit the occasion you need.  This would also make a great Mother's Day card, Thinking of You card, Get Well card and a Sympathy card.  

I opted to make mine into a birthday card because I use more of those in a year than the others.

The base of this card is Very Vanilla and on top of that is the new Midnight Muse card stock.  It's such a dark shade of blue and in the light it looks like a bit of purple too.  It may work well for Halloween.  I like to have a dark purple for Halloween but there isn't any now, just the Wisteria Wonder.

On the background of the card it's been textured using the embossing folders and then it's sprayed with the Shimmer Paint mixed with rubbing alcohol and put in a misting bottle.  I need to ask Terri what the ratio of rubbing alcohol is to the paint.  I want to mix some up to have on hand.  I had done mine with water, which is ok but the water will stain the paper and absorb some too where the rubbing alcohol will evaporate and not ruin the paper.  

Anyway, back to the card.  Don't you love how the decorative paper is folded back a bit to expose the other side of it?  I love that look.  That paper is from the in color decorative paper pack.  An ribbon was tied around the focal panel layers and taped onto the front of the card.  It's such a pretty card with all that shimmery sparkle going on.  It's a soft sparkle and it's all over the blue.  It's VERY pretty in real life.
