Zoo Review Masculine Birthday Card

I just never seem to have enough masculine cards.  This weeks Sketch Challenge had the perfect focal panel for me to use the zebra image from the Zoo Review set.  I had gotten that set back during the Sale A Bration and I hadn't had a chance to use it yet!  It's a perfect set for masculine cards.  And a perfect set to use for today's Sketch Challenge at Split Coast Stampers!

The base of my card is Soft Suede.  On top of that is a piece of decorative paper from the Regals collections.

The front strip panel was textured using the Lattice folder.

Next the focal piece was added.  I stamped the En Francais background using Crumb Cake. I had tried the Soft Suede but it was way too dark. I even tried stamping off but that was just too light.  So I got out the Crumb Cake ink pad and it was a bit too dark too so I huffed on it and used the image one more time and it worked out perfectly. It was light enough yet dark enough to know there was something there!

Then I stamped the zebra.  I sponged the edges of that piece plus the Happy Birthday circle.

Oops, jumping the gun a bit here.  The circle piece was done using my computer and printer.  I punched it out using the 1-1/4" punch, then I punched the Not Quite Navy circle using the 1-3/8" circle and those two were layered on top of the Soft Suede circle scallop punched piece.

And that was all there is to making this card.  It was simple enough even with all of those layers!!! I LOVED playing with this sketch and I can see myself using this one again and more than likely in the near future too! I have a lot of images that will fit into that focal space.  So if you have time, I highly recommend you giving this sketch a try!

Thank you SO much for visiting today,
Wanda
