Field Flowers Sympathy Card

Oh my, what a beautiful sympathy card the "Field Flowers" set makes.  These flower images are SO pretty. 

I needed to make a sympathy card and I suppose I could have gotten one from my stash but I just felt I needed to make a brand new one because it was a very special person who died.  

I found a card on page 23 of the latest "Stampin' Success" magazine.  Actually it just arrived in the mail yesterday.  I think it's fun to find a card in the magazines and copy it.  My card is a bit different from the original one.  I used the Scallop Trim border punch and on the original card ribbon was used on the right side of the flower panel and just a Scallop Edge punch on the other.  I used the same punch on both sides.  I did like how they ribbon was gathered on the original card but I didn't have any ribbon and even if I did, I don't think I would have spent the time gathering it to make it fit that edge.  It is very pretty on there but something I don't care to do.  I think it involves a needle and thread (which is WAY too much like sewing!!!).  

Another difference is the background decorative paper.  I used decorative paper and the sample in the book used the Dot, dot, dot stamp.  I was glad the decorative paper worked.  It's SO much easier to make the paper go on straight than it is to stamp the dots on straight.  I love to take the easy way any chance I get.

The original card had words stamped over the dotted paper.  I used an oval punch and a scalloped oval to add my words.  Both cards are great.  I can't say I like one more than the other, it's a toss up!  I do like the Crumb Cake and the Baja Breeze colors together.
