Fabulous Florets Birthday Card 2

As you can see I am having some fun with the new "Fabulous Florets" stamp set.  I'm just SO ready for flowers right now.  But alas, we have rain again.  I know we need the rain but not every day!!!  I did see the sun for a brief moment one day this week.  Our temps are rather cool and it actually feels like April. Maybe that is why we have all this rain, we are a month behind.  I actually had the furnace off the other day when it got near 90 and was SO beastly humid.  But last night it was so cold in the house I had to turn the furnace back on.  

Ok, enough about the weather report here in Minnesota!!!  Let's talk about my card.  I challenged myself here and used the Tangerine Tango card stock.  I have hardly used the very first pack of it I purchased.  I don't know why.  Maybe it's that I'm not really into orange?  I don't know but I do like how it worked on this card.  

The base of the card is a half sheet of Tangerine Tango folded in half.  On top of that is a piece of white card stock cut 4-1/8" x 5-3/4" and I used one of the texture folders to get a pretty background.  I did stamp my words first.  They are from the "On Your Birthday" set.  Then I cut a piece for the layer behind the words.  I set it in place but did not tape it.  I wanted to make sure I like the placement of the flowers.  I stamped the flowers using black StazOn and I cut them out. I took a marker and a blender pen and colored in the flowers.  I set them in place around the card until I got them were I liked them.  Then I taped everything in place.  I was thinking of adding some green leaves to flowers but I wanted it to have the clean and simple (CAS) look.  I may try another one to see if I like the leaves on it or not.
