You can't go wrong with bag toppers! They are so quick and easy to make too. You can make them as simple as you want or really dress them up with lots of layers and bling. For these I chose to keep it simple. I wanted to make it a quick project and I didn't want anything on it that would be crushed in packing it up and hauling it around.
I placed my heart shaped cinnamon (yum) candies in a food safe plastic bag. I measured across the bag to see how wide I had to make it and then I added 1/4" so it would hang over the edge a bit. I really didn't measure the top of it, I had a piece of scrap and just cut a second one from that. I folded it in half and then measured that piece.
Afte rmeasuring I cut the white card stock 1/4" less. I used the "Heart of Hearts" Embosslet to do the hearts. Oh, they are in Pretty in Pink card stock, just like the main part of the bag topper is.
The "Happy Valentine's Day" came from the "Teeny tiny Wishes" set and I stamped it in Regal Rose. I punched out the layer using the "Modern Label" punch.
Now to assemble it I just stapled on the folded Pretty in Pink card stock. I stapled it so the bumpy part of the staple was on the front. This keep the back nice and clean and since you're adding a layer anyway, it won't show on the front!
After stapling it I decorated it and that was all there is to it. Very simple to do with any size bag. Well, almost any size bag. If you have one bigger than a 12" x 12" piece of card stock than you will have to improvise or rethink your project!!! LOL
These would make great teacher gifts, classroom gifts/class projects or gifts for co-workers. It would also be a fun Make n Take. And I think it's something simple enough that the kids could help with too!
Thank you SO much for visiting today,
