I have had this little snowman set for some time now and have never played with it. When this sketch came out I took a look at my stamps to see what would fit in the 3-a space.
This snowman really didn't fit there until I added the snowballs in the air!
I stamped the snowman using black StazOn ink. I actually stamped him twice, once on the focal piece and again on a scrap piece. I cut the one piece out and using Dimensionals I set it in place on top of the first snowman.
I stamped a hat and cut that out too. I colored all the pieces and added the hat on top of the snowman's head. On the hat I added a tiny white pompom for a little different texture on the card.
The background was done using pieces of the snowflake paper from the Candy Cane Decorative paper pack. I sponged the edges with Marina Mist.
I added a few rhinestones to the center of the stamped and die cut snowflakes.
The larger snowflakes at the top were made using the "Northern Frost" die. I used Smooch Spray on them to give them a little bit of glimmer. I taped them in place and then added the rhinestone. It was just enough twinkle to be eye catching!
And that is about it. There wasn't a lot to making this card. The pieces were simple and they were also quick to do. I would have to say the part that took me the longest to do was the cutting out of the snowman and hat. It may have gone quickly in reality but for me, I hate to cut out pieces and I thought it took a long time. Though it did take a while for the Smooch spray to dry. You get the feeling of watching wet paint dry! I suppose I could have heat set it to speed up the process. I always think of those things when the card is all done!!! LOL
Anyway, I like this card. Of course I would, it's got a snowman on it!!!
If you have time give this layout a try. It's got a LOT of potential and I do seeing myself using it again sometime!
Thank you SO much for visiting today,
Wanda
