A while back I had downloaded a card with a bird on it and some fun background papers. It had gotten misplaced (imagine that in MY workroom!!!). A week or so I ran across the card I printed out and realized I didn't have the bird. SO I had been using the bird from the "Friends 24-7" set and thought I would work it into an altered notebook.
I have had these notebooks for a while now and I thought it was time to work with them. I would really like to get the ledge in my workroom cleared off, even it it means working on things like this one at a time! I altered 3 notebooks so now there is a little space on the ledge. The REAL trick here is to NOT put anything else in it's place!! Wish me luck on that one!
For my fun altered notebook I opened up the prongs just enough to slip my punched piece of Crumb Cake card stock in place. I had punched the holes with my Zutter punch and binding machine. I have yet to bind anything with it since I've just been altering stuff that is already bound. One of these days I'll get to break open the package of metal binders I have!! But for now I'll just alter until I have used up the notebooks I've purchased! I have stopped purchasing them. It's great when you can get these fun notebooks for a dollar but how many do you really need???
On the bottom of the cover I ran the "Very Vintage" wheel over it using Crumb Cake ink. Then I added a piece of Marina Mist satin ribbon just above the edge of the wheeling. I stamped, colored and layered the bird and words and taped them in place as you see on the cover. On the inside I added a piece of Whisper White card stock to cover the edges of the ribbon. I wanted the inside cover to have a clean look. And for the final touch I added 5 pearls from the "Jewels" pack. I am having SO much fun with those pearls and rhinestones!
And that is it. It was a very quick altering job and I like how it turned out.
Thank you SO much for visiting today,
Wanda
