This is the card I made for this weeks Sketch Challenge over at SplitCoastStampers. I almost didn't do the sketch because I'm not a big fan of square cards. But I stuck with it and this is what I came up with.
The base of my card is Basic Black card stock. The dotted colored paper is from "The Write Stuff" decorative paper pack. There is a sliver of Rose Red card stock showing behind the flower image panel.
The image is from the Stampin' Up! "Watercolor Trio" set. I LOVE that set! The words are from the "Holiday Blitz" set. Such a fun set with LOTS of little stamps in it. It is retiring, which is too bad because I LOVE that set! And what was great about this is the words fit in the punches so I was able to just stamp, punch and tape! Gotta LOVE that!!!
I colored in my flower using markers. That technique is called Direct to Rubber. It's one I use a lot. It's nice that techniques don't retire!!
I tied a black grosgrain ribbon at the top of the card before I taped it all together.
I don't think I will be making any more of this sketch though I may try it on a regular size card. Maybe!!
If you have time try this out. Try it out on a regular size card and show me! Email me your card here.
Thank you SO much for visiting today,

Very attractive card, Wanda. I don't care to make square cards either, but they always look nice. Your coloring is fantastic, as always.
Thanks for sharing.

This is lovely, why would you give up on square cards? I actually love square cards! Thanks for sharing.
Wanda, I am not much into square cards either. However, I did pick up some at HL last week and have played around with a few.
Love your creation!
