Stitched Felt "Sweet Pea" Card

I made this card to use as a birthday card. But as I was working on it I noticed there was no room to add any sentiment. Well, not any room that would not distract too much from the beautiful felt flowers. And the more I looked at the card the more I thought it should be left blank. It can be used for many other occasions than just a birthday card. Don't you love it when you make cards that are versatile?

Click on the photo for a closer look. Notice those adorable hearts in the background? They are from the Stampin' Up! "Welcome Neighbor" designer series paper pad. And do you notice that I'm actually using these papers? The hoarding is not as bad as it use to be! There just may be a cure for that! LOL

The main part of this card is a half sheet of Melon Mambo card stock. I think it's such a pretty color.

The flowers were taped in place with glue dots (it was the only thing that really stuck well to the felt).

The stem is from the "Little Leaves" Sizzlet. I did cut off a couple of leaves at the top, they showed under the flower and I didn't like the way that looked.

I did use the Dotted Swiss folder for the white piece that the flower is taped to. I layered that piece on top of another piece of Melon Mambo and tied a piece of the Dotted Melon Mambo ribbon around it. I taped it in place on top of the decorative paper with Dimensionals.

This was a very quick and simple card to put together. And it has such a sweet look to it, don't you? And I just noticed this, it's a card with no stamping on it!

Thank you SO much for visiting today,
Wanda

This is such a sweet card, Wanda! I love how you used the stitched felt and DSP. I often leave the sentiment off the front. It's beautiful!

Well done Wanda. I love felt flowers but I would never have thought of using them in my cards. Thanks for the idea. Jaqui x
