Again I am finding myself in need of a thank you card. I have hardly played with the "Garden Whimsy" set by Stampin' Up! It's such a cute and fun set too. It can make some pretty quick cards because there's not a whole lot of coloring you have to do. You can make the card as difficult or as easy as you'd like. I guess that is true with pretty much any set. Though I have found a few stamps that I find a complete struggle to do anything with it but making a monochromatic card. Anyway, this set is not one of them!!! It's got lots of potential to keep you busy for weeks!!!
I used some fun colors too. Ones I had never used together before. Orchid Opulence and Pumpkin Pie to name a couple. The other colors used here are Very Vanilla and Certainly Celery. Interesting combination, isn't it?
I used the direct to rubber technique on the image. And the image was done using Black Staz-on and watercolor paper. I sponged the edges on the vanilla and watercolor paper. The "thank you" is from the "Happy Heart Day" set. It fits SO well in the 1-1/4" circle punch!! Because of all the layers under the flower
I had to use Dimensionals under the scallop.
I had to use Dimensionals under the scallop.
I also used 3 different colors of ribbons. I used the 5/8" vanilla with strips of Always Artichoke ribbon under it and Pumpkin Pie ribbon on top. That's pretty much it. Not a whole lot to this card. The sponging makes the card look more "fancy" than it is. It's pretty much a simple basic card.

What a great color combo - I need to get back to stamping like this - where I don't rely on embellishments so much!
